I've been Jazzercising for over 20 years and I never get bored with it. I know that many think that Jazzercise is dated, for old women in leotards and leg warmers, but that couldn't be more wrong. The classes I attend (I prefer step to regular) include teenagers, men, middle-age women and seniors. Everyone moves at their own pace and gets what they want out of each class. I've tried yoga and fancy athletic clubs (with every type of machine) but I like Jazzercise the best.
The Denver Center is large, clean and has just about every class you could every want or need to choose from: regular, step, personal touch (personal training) and body sculpting. All of the instructors are great but my favorite is owner/instructor, Sandi Hull. Sandi puts thought into every class making sure to include a workout for virtually every body part. I swear sometimes my earlobes feel like they've gotten a workout - she's that good. Her mission in life is to make sure you are sweaty and happy after every class.
I'd like to say that I'll be jazzercising long after I need a walker but because of Jazzercise I'll probably never need a walker.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Alice G.Tulsa, OK137312522671Sep 1, 2014
What a great way to stay in shape!......in concept...
I have been jazzercising since 1990. I have tossed my thong leotard and headband sets, but the dance routines are as great as ever.
A lot of weight work has now been incorporated into the routines, so it's possible to get your cardio and a full body work out all at once.
It's so fun and the music is so great, you don't realize you're working out so hard!
This jazzercise has two huge carpeted work out rooms. Classes are pretty well attended and the only drawback is space being too cramped and rampant illogical turf issues, most folks are friendly, but not always. Mostly not always.
A little updating to the facility, which has not really changed since I moved here in 1996, would be a good investment as the space is slightly drab and depressing.
I have been coming regularly for the past three months and still just don't fit in or fit the demographic exactly. Three full months and no one says hello. It is a fairly lonely workout experience! I love the exercise in the concept but this particular location is only okay.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amanda T.Denver, CO21666196Sep 9, 2012
Throw away your preconceived ideas of what Jazzercise is. Gone are the days of leotards, legwarmers and hi-top Reeboks. Today's Jazzercisers anywhere between the ages of 20s-boomers. Some of them wear trendy Lululemon and some come in shorts and a t-shirt, but I've yet to see a set of leg warmers.
I took advantage of the Jazzercise Living Social deal that was offered last week to mix up my workout routine and I'm glad I did. It's a lot of fun! Jazzercise is 5 minutes warm up, 30 minutes cardio, 20 minutes strength and 5 minutes cool down. There's a choreographed dance to each song and the instructor can choose to mix the songs into the playlist of her choice as long as she follows the class format. This helps the class from becoming monotonous.
The center itself is very spacious, and while the decor hasn't been updated since probably the 80s, the space is kept clean. And the center staff is very friendly and they offer childcare for several classes.
Will I continue with Jazzercise after my month is over? Probably not. It's not really a convenient location for me, which has been verified from the additional gas my car has been using since I joined. However, if it's a convenient location for you, and you are looking for a new workout, I highly suggest you check out one of their free Monday classes during the month of September.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Cynthia D.Albuquerque, NM78135Oct 8, 2018
Well as nice as it was to get a workout in while I was in from out of town it is disappointing when the instructors cannot keep a beat. This is happening in other states as well, I sweat just a teeny bit compared to my normal workouts, so for all of the effort to get there it was a so so experience. I guess I didn't realize mediocrity was becoming so acceptable.

I never thought I could be hooked on exercise until I joined this Center. Thirteen years later, I am stronger than ever and I'm certain I've added years to my life. What used to be a chore quickly became a necessity for me...and I keep up with the latest pop music too. Unpretentious, very welcoming and some great dance moves too!

I moved from CA to Denver 5 years ago and the transition to the Denver Center Jazzercise was seamless! The ladies are friendly, the front desk staff welcoming, Sandy, the owner is always professional and couldn't ask for a better list of classes and instructors! A great place to exercise!

This is one of the best places to workout. Great owner, awesome instructors and a variety of classes. I was invited by a friend 3 years ago to try a class and I immediately joined. This is a great place to get in shape!

I HATE exercise, but Jazzercise is one thing I find myself looking forward to. I have two young daughters and I love them so much but at the end of the day I'm so glad to have Jazzercise there for my "escape". I recommend this place for those who like - and those who hate! - exercise! It's really a great way for me to get some ME time!!
For Jazzercise in Denver in the University Hills Plaza, it's especially special. I've gone to quite a few different times of classes here, and all the instructors are wonderful! They're happy, friendly, nice, knowledgeable, but not at all judgmental or harsh as fitness instructors. My favorites are Peggy, Tifani, and Melanie - although I've never had an instructor I didn't like! And in case you didn't notice - I HATE EXERCISE. I just want to be a good example to my daughters and stay healthy so Jazzercise fits in quite well with my needs. Few, if any, men attend classes. I have seen them, but this is mostly a female oriented style of exercise. If you have basic rhythm, you can do Jazzercise. And no one will judge you if you do all the low-impact, easier moves - the classes are full of all sizes and shapes and ages, you just do what you're capable of and that's that. At the same time, I find Jazzercise beneficial because I don't give up, doing it in a group atmosphere helps me keep going. I love this center, highly recommended, definitely a gem in Denver. And for moms - check out their free day care for certain classes. It's so nice to feel like you can still get some "me" time as a stay at home mom, and take good care of yourself so you can be there 100% for your kids.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
