Jazz St. Louis is a lovely environment to listen to Jazz. I would recommend going a little earlier before the show to order a meal or appetizer. The food selections assist with making an all around date night experience. Every staff role I have ever encountered over the years have been nice and happy to be there.
The talent that Jazz St. Louis brings in is a reason in itself to go.
Thanks for being in midtown.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1113161768Jun 21, 2023Updated review
I love Jazz STL! I visit here at least 6-8 times per year and I am never disappointed. I love the fact that they switch up the menu quite a bit and I love the free summer series that they have during the summer months! it is nothing better than live music in an intimate venues such as this! I literally have gotten tickets right at the stage which is so fun to be that close to the performers. I love their community work that they do and love what they stand for as a non-profit organization. Keep up the fabulousness Jazz STL team!

In fall 2021 I easily visited the venue at least 3 times and I am in love! I love the ambiance, so classy and intimate. I always get there early enough to have dinner before the show and the food is delicious! A little pricey so be prepared to drop some money if you bring a date. The tickets are not bad in price, I literally paid $26 to sit close enough to the stage that I could see the sweat on the musicians' foreheads, which I think is a spectacular price! They also have cheaper tickets that start at $10. They are requiring proof of vaccination or negative COVID test, so be prepared to show it at the door. Overall, this is a great place for a date night, a girl's night out or just a fun night out! Splurge and get valet- it's only $10 (CASH ONLY) but well worth it to not worry about parking and to be close to the venue. With the tickets and a nice dinner with drinks with a 90 minute show it is well worth it!
In terms of food, I have had the BBQ chicken pizza, the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, the rigatoni Bolognese and the bread pudding and everything was so delicious! Check it out the next time you are planning a night out in St. Louis! This is definitely a hidden gem! - 363229351Jul 28, 2023

Very classy atmosphere, we had a girls night out here. They have a limited menu, this gumbo was surprisingly good. The ambiance is grown and sexy. I would say the age range is 40 and up. The service is good also. Very professional

Absolutely incredible, 10/10, wow! I've been wanting to come here for the longest time as the St. Louis Jazz culture is so evident. I'm honestly a little surprised people don't talk about this place more because I think it was one of my favorite experiences in St. Louis, by far.
I came to watch Keyon Harrold and his band who are all absolutely legends alongside Kenneth Whalum. Let me tell you the most amazing parts of the night:
- For one student tickets are only $10 which is wild with a $2.50 processing fee. The show typically called for like $40+ per ticket so you save an incredible amount of money with a student ID. Also you can just call them online about it, you don't have to visit their box office in person.
- We watched the 7:30 show, and I guess they wanted to encourage more people to stay for the second set so the theater offered free tickets from everyone from the first set to come tot he second set, so we gladly took them. I'm so glad that we did because even though the songs were the same, the middle improvisations part was incredible.
- The venue is so intimate as there aren't a lot of seatings and you can really feel connected with the artists.
- Keyon Harrold!!! Oh my gosh. His band absolutely killed it and blew everyone away. The way he was able to hold the room with his trumpet was mesmerizing and the guy who was playing the keys for him was amazing. I appreciate the improvisations so much as you could see each musicians shine and everyone else supporting them. It was so impressive they way they were able to sit so in the pocket of the music with the ever-changing rhythms. Honestly could not recommend seeing his show more, because even though the two sets started with the same songs, the middle bits were completely different which made everything so much more interesting.
- Kenneth Whalum's "One More Kiss" is officially my new favorite song. Wow. The way he sang it, man was serenading us! And then they did some improvisations and no matter how wild it got, they always brought it back to the chorus of the song. Incredible!
- I appreciate that Keyon Harrold asked everyone to stand up and dance at the end, it really felt like such a great community.
- The vibes were amazing. Everyone there was so supportive, I absolutely loved it.
Okay, clearly this is my new favorite St. Louis experience. Can't wait to come back again to listen to more new and amazing artists although I have to say that Keyon Harrold is a hard one to beat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 16, 2022
This is a gem of a venue. It's fairly intimate and has tables downstairs and a nice viewing balcony upstairs with counter-like seating. I doubt there's a bad seat in the house. I sat upstairs and the view and acoustics were great. Ticket prices seem very reasonable. I thoroughly enjoyed the jazz ensemble performance; all the musicians were great. It was a fun and entertaining evening! I went by myself (on a weekday evening) and felt very welcomed by both the staff and patrons.
They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. I went with the server-recommended red and it went great with my tasty rigatoni pasta dish. Even though they were short-staffed (the manager had to step in as a server for the night), once I was seated the service was excellent.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Emily F.Temecula, CA016311Jan 6, 2024
Great venue. Clean restrooms. Good service and drinks. Got dessert which was pretty good. Enjoyed sitting on the top.

This was such a fun venue for something fun for date night. I saw on Instagram that they were offering free tickets for their summer series--how can you turn that down? You can also buy single tickets or packages for their regular season. We received an email that doors opened at 6 for their 730 show and encouraged attendees to secure seating. As we planned to dine there (service is offered throughout the show even if you're not there ahead of time), we did go ahead and arrive shortly after 6. We were glad we did because quite a number of people did the same thing. There was open family style seating with tables of 4. There is also a downstairs bar that you can sit at and a bar counter upstairs in the balcony for some other seating options. Along the back wall downstairs there is booth sitting. This is what we opted for though we ultimately wish we'd gone with a regular table because the booth was high enough that you kind of needed a foot ledge but the ledge by the booth wasn't the best ergonomically. The view was great but just not the most comfortable seat and would pick a table next time. The food was honestly much better than I expected. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer that had a tasty jalapeno cream sauce over it. For dinner we had the gumbo which was also good but the potato gnocchi was the real star for me. Big portion size, great flavor.

This has to be hands down my favorite concert venue. It's intimate without being claustrophobic. The service is always great and I like that they change the menu seasonally. The acoustics are phenomenal. While the floor seats give a more up close and personal view, unless you are a party of four, you might end up getting seated with strangers (that can be good and bad, but I'll leave that alone). For that reason, I prefer balcony seating. It's bar style, so even tho you might be seated next to a stranger it's easier to ignore them if they're annoying. )). And the view is still great! There is street parking if you can get it. And valet parking is always available.

Great food and a full bar. The ticket prices won't break the bank. The acoustics are fabulous, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Arrive before they open the doors?? Or perhaps you don't have a ticket to the show? Visit the bar connected to the bistro and watch the show on the large flat screen TV! Perfect date nite spot!!

The music was great. The ambience is great, the service was excellent. The food is pretentious and definitely not worth the money spent on top of the money spent. We went here per default because of a cancellation at the FoX . We were out with nothing to do so my husband for 50$ a ticket bought us tickets to see this show. But aside from that I dont understand how one bland tasting meatball with tomato sauce figures to be 13$, or extra crostini bread for a small crap dip figures to be 4$. So go for the music but eat and drink elsewhere or youll be paying 345$ like our group for gumbo, roasted chicken, 1 meatball , crab dip with 6 drinks. ill save you the heartache
