Did not like the food here and they would not refund me. I barely ate off of my plate. The waiter told me there wasn't a manager....HOW

The restaurant is very spacious and nicely decorated. Maybe I went there on a quiet night but there weren't a lot of people at the restaurant. It could also be that it is quite far to walk from New London, especially in winter. It is pretty convenient if you have a car. Imo, the portions were decently sized. Didn't get to try the sushi bar but the food at the place was pretty good for what you can find in New London. The servers are nice and welcoming!

Excellent service, excellent food. Very reasonable prices for very generous portions.
My wife gives their sushi good marks, almost on par with Singapore Grill (they are 'rawsome!). I love their dumplings and pad woon sen.
The setting is comfortable and the service is wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive without hovering and he knew when to have the kitchen prepare our next course without us feeling rushed or waiting.
About the only negative is that it seems to attract some seriously annoying hipsters. I really, really cannot stand the New London breed of ignoratti hipsters that infest our downtown these past few years. If you are one of them, sorry.
UPDATE! 10-16-14
The last time we went, the service was dreadful. The waitress messed up most of the orders and food came out in a random manner that stymied us all - even my bride, who served in some very nice restaurants in her day.
The manager apologized and took most of the meal off the check, but I was very surprised at the poor experience. We are going back in a couple of weeks and I may have to revise my review.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lindy L.Webster, MA01Feb 14, 2018
Really good clear noodles.
Food was a little late because it was Valentine's Day but overall good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thao N.Groton, CT2146Jan 31, 2017
Very bland. Ordered shrimp curry and it was very watery. I was disappointed with my order

Tiny portions, only adequate food. That would have made this restaurant decent, but for the inclusion of MSG in their dishes makes me write this place off forever.
Monosodium glutemate. Not only is this unnecessary, but many people (including myself) have a sensitivity to it and are sickened by it. MSG is often the purview of cheap Chinese food, so I didn't expect it lurking in the pretentious-looking Jasmine Thai. After a bout of severe illness, I will never again return to this restaurant which poisoned me with random chemicals.
For those of you that don't have MSG sensitivity, knowing that Jasmine Thai uses MSG in their food means something pretty important as well: what they serve is not fresh, and they are serving you pre-packaged food.
Don't bother.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Taikwon D.New Haven, CT063Jul 30, 2016
Based on the reviews, I expected horrible service. We received the first thing we ordered in about 5 minutes after ordering. Our server brought us our plates several moments after that. Food took about 20 minutes from the time we ordered. My only complaint the rolls were too small, but they were good.

The day before leaving CT after spending a month there was a rainy, rainy Sunday. A perfect day to for a leisurely meal out. Jasmine Thai hit the spot.
It's completely new (I think it opened the week before I ate there with my buddy Scott). I ordered the Pad See Eew with tofu, which was tasty but the portion was a tad small. Scott ordered the Massaman Curry, which he said was great, but he ended up ordering another bowl of rice, again, because of the portion size. As with many Thai places, you get a small salad with peanut dressing in addition to your entree at lunchtime.
Service was super friendly. The menu was written out so that those unfamiliar with Thai food will know what they're eating (which in an odd way confused me, because I kept looking for dishes under the Thai names and getting lost). If they just bump up the portions by about 10-15%, I'd bump up their stars.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Allison D.Jamesville, NY915Jan 7, 2012
Perfect! Better than most other Thai restaurants I've been to. It is much nicer inside than it appears - it looks like your average Asian takeout restaurant but has a lovely atmosphere and great staff.
I got a Thai Lemonade - never had it before, it was delicious! Tasted more like lemon-lime-ade. My date and I split a Chicken Masala appetizer, which was very good. It came with an odd sauce though, I'm used to peanut sauce with the dish and it came with something more like duck sauce.
I got the Pad See Ew - BEST DISH EVER. My boyfriend stole about half of it off my plate because it was so good. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful. He got Mango Curry, honestly can't remember the details because it was too spicy for me (what most people consider "medium" but I am super sensitive) and while he liked it, he liked mine way better.
Wait staff was friendly and attentive, we will definitely be going back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kerry B.Pawcatuck, Stonington, CT063Dec 4, 2019
Always love this place for their crab rangoons, butternut squash curry, and Thai tea with bubbles
