I can't believe I haven't written a review for Jasmine when I've been here a number of times! Well, I would hope most of Bakersfield has been here - if not, what are you waiting for?! Jasmine is such a stable Thai restaurant and always gives the best service. Their food never disappoints! I've tried a multitude of the menu and none of them is below a 5/5. I usually get their yellow curry and pad thai but this time, instead of pad thai, I got the garlic pepper lunch special which was so so good. Craving it as I write this review!
P.S. you get a free thai tea or tea whenever you order during their lunch special hours!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 7072195Apr 1, 2024
Jasmine & The New Taste has improved over the years and it's worth going back to try different items on the menu. There are so many Thai restaurants in Bakersfield that each one's dishes, although similar by name, are very different in taste.
Gyozas are always a go to for us and Jasmine's were so tasty. The filling had so much flavor. My order of Dragon Noodles was good although it was particularly sweeter than I'd expected. The heat was missing and the noodles were slightly overcooked, making them mushy and somewhat gummy. In the other hand, when I tasted the yellow curry dish my husband had, it was bursting with flavor. The right amount of spices and heat mixed in a creamy coconut milk bath.
The service was a bit slow, but attentive when needed.
Unfortunately, the location downtown is in an area where you are likely to be approached by homeless people, but once inside all is fine. The interior decorating is a little bit of everything, but I wasn't there to judge the decor, I was there for food, and based on the meals we had, we'll be back again to try something different.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kenji Y.Yokohama, Japan184761Mar 15, 20242 check-ins
Food was decent. Bad wait time. Not a safe area. Impossible parking.
Ordered for a pickup.
The area is not safe and has no parking.
I parked in an alley where some homeless guy just stood in front of my car so I couldn't move. Random people doing drugs on the side of the street.
Arrived to restaurant and the food wasn't ready. Was told maybe my order wasn't in yet. I said I received a receipt and the order was definitely in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 288409221Apr 17, 20241 check-in
Having a early dinner with my mom and no one is here yet but listening to the banter of the cooks and staff and the laughter is just super adorable. I love Asian culture and Thai people have the best vibes super sweet people. Omg I love the laughter hope the food is as good as the smiles I see and the laughter I hear!

I live in Bakersfield all my life an never heard of this place .
Downtown , not the greatest area but it's worth it.
The shrimp fried rice , yummy so many flavors an the shrimp is fresh , not fishy smell or taste. That will definitely a bonus!!

Best budget Thai food in Bakersfield! If you are downtown in a good family thai restaurant. The staff is accommodating and they have specials that can allow you to try multiple things without breaking your bank. The food is made quickly and is very tasty. The atmosphere of the place is an authentic Thai restaurant, but this can definitely be improved.

There are quite a few Thai restaurants in Bakersfield to choose from and we picked this one for its location in downtown, not too far our hotel by driving. We found street parking a block from this place after a bit searching. The downtown area was quiet but clean. The restaurant was clean and roomy with colorful decor. It was not too busy for a Saturday night. We ordered egg rolls and fried dumplings with Thai beers from HH menu to start and pork skewers, Tom yum hotpot, and pad thai, for main courses. All were tasty and of medium portions. The servers were friendly and somewhat passive. Overall this restaurant is a decent place to soothe our craving for Asian food.

I placed an order over the phone for seafood drunken noodles and thai ice tea.
The order was ready in 10 minutes
The drunken noodles were delicious, but the thai ice tea had alot of milk. The people there are friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
