Great little hop off the 40, just North & East of the Ocklawaha River bridge.
Eggs & grits cooked to perfection, with strong brewed coffee to wake even Father Time out of his year lon snooze!
* I enjoyed one of the best Blackberry & Raspberry w/Citrus Zest muffins here, a few days ago for only $2 !! I'm def buying more next time!!!
Blinde-haired Terry waited on myself and others this morning. She is, hands down, one of the absolute sweetest servers I've met in all my travels. A petite gal with a NY accent... truly a delightful personality.
Easy access, ample parking... AND right next to a cute little gift shop with handmade candies (fudge, caramels, chocolate alligators!) and some very cute, homemade 'forest' crafts.
Def a place I'll visit on my way to/from kayaking Silver Springs!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 20, 2024
While on our weekly Harley ride we decided to stop at Jan's River Park Cafe in Silver Springs, Florida and glad we did. This Cafe is located at the Wilderness RV Park. When we entered the cafe we noticed how clean it was, unfortunately there wasn't a table for six immediately available but a few minutes lated one became available.
I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and everything was great, actually this was one of the best cheeseburgers I ever had and the fries were excellent.
The price I thought was right for what I ate and the service was excellent. Everyone else I was with complimented how good their meals were. One of the owners who was our waitress say they just took over the place October 2023.
Overall this is one of the best reviews I have given and will definitely return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 24, 2023
Before leaving Ocala and driving back home to Fort Lauderdale we were starving and looking for someplace to get some food! We ending up seeing a sign for world famous whoppie pies, so naturally we had to go check those out, and next door was this place!
Checking the yelp reviews helped us make up our minds and we decided to try Jans.
It was OKAY, the coffee wasn't the best and the sandwiches weren't really hot, but food is food! And everything came out quickly and we did clear our plates.
The ambiance was exactly as you expected it to be. A small town ocala diner. Our server was delightful and attentive.
If you're looking for some food and happen to be next door getting some desserts, this place will satisfy your hunger for sure.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 29, 2023
It is one of the nicest restaurants you'll ever visit. Jan, the owner visits everyone's table and states how grateful she is for her customers. She has created all of the recipes for her fresh, from scratch, delicious food items. The breakfast is so good no matter what you order. I had blueberry pancakes, so yummy I ordered another one.
I tried the cheeseburger soup and at another visit was able to try the Italian wedding soup, both were so good. The cheeseburgers are delicious and cooked to perfection. I tried the egg salad on croissant with sweet potato fries and everything was better than if I made it myself...so tasty!
I asked for a sample of her homemade baked ziti, wow was it delicious! My friends ordered clams casino with pasta and they loved it.
There's a gift shop next door, be sure to get a yummy whoopee pie, they're freshly made by a true Maine baker.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Phillip S.FL, FL09Mar 7, 2024Updated review
A while back, I left a review on Jan's before the new owner took over. I thought I'd give the new owners a chance, so I went there for breakfast one morning and met some friends while I was there and sat with them.
I'll be honest with you. I have no complaints about the food or the service. It was very adequate. It's when I got up to pay the bill when my shock came.
I had a half order of biscuits and gravy, which consists of one biscuit cut in half with gravy on it and coffee. No extras were included. Coffee was black. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the extras that are supposed to go with the biscuits and gravy or whatever and I took it at that. When paying the bill I was charged for the extras anyway and the bill was $12.50 for one biscuit and a cup of coffee. This morning at another establishment I had a full order of biscuits and gravy and a cup of coffee was $9.15. I won't return to Jan. But I will tell you the service is good and the people are pleasant and the food is not bad.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 23, 2021Previous reviewThe wife and I had breakfast with them and all I can say is "WOW ", they hit it out of the park. I've dined here many times. The food is always excellent and the staff does a great job. If you like small town nothing fancy eating, you won't be disappointed.

This little hideaway was a nice surprise. Located within an RV Park on a main highway and next door to a candy store, I'm glad I saw the breakfast sign as we passed by.
Parking was adequate, prices fair. We walked in and seated ourselves. The place was busy, it was Saturday morning with only a few open tables. It looked like a little country cafe inside with a small counter, booths and tables. The owner's son wiped off our table and the owner, Jan took our order. (He called her Mom which is how I knew this. Lol )
They had plenty of selections on the menu to choose from and a chalkboard filled with specials. I ordered eggs, home fries, bacon and it came with a half order of biscuits and sausage gravy. My boyfriend ordered eggs, hash browns, sausage links, bacon and pancakes.
Jan was the only waitress and was quite busy. I asked if she also owned the candy shop and she said no, this place was enough for her to handle.
When our orders arrived in a decent time, I immediately tried the pancakes and they were outstanding, best I've had in a very long time. They were cooked perfectly.. I like heavy pancakes not light, fluffy ones. The bacon was also excellent, think and cooked well with a sweet smokey flavor. Also a thumbs up for both potato side dishes and our eggs cooked were just right.
We watched as people came in for take out orders, many from the RV Park. The candy store next door sells home made Whoopee Pies and the giant signage brings people in from the road.
I don't know why I'm not giving a five star rating, I thought the food was great ... Maybe because we did not feel the homey atmosphere we were hoping for. I will definitely go back for the food and hopefully get to know the staff a little better.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
