The Almond Crusted Chicken - chicken breast rolled in toasted almonds and panko, pan-fried and served on a bed of jasmine rice, topped with béarnaise 26.95 was FANTASTIC!

My boyfriend eats steak and I don't usually, but they accommodated both of us beautifully. He said his steak was delicious and cooked perfectly.

My only complaint is that the French Onion soup was 50% cheese, very little soup. Also, the soup was a salt bath. Kinda gross really. Tasted like bullion and steamed, not caramelized, onions. Odd for such a nice place.

Otherwise, delicious- the chicken is really really good!

My girlfriend and I dined at Jakers for the first time last weekend and I was very impressed. The calamari was crispy and sauce was a perfect pairing. The tenderloin filet steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. The mojito was mixed perfectly to where you know they didn't cheap out on the alcohol but still tasted delicious. And the lobster bisque was fantastic as well.

If I could give 6 stars to our server I would! He was super friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. I believe his name was Isaac.

Exceptional restaurant with amazing service, food, and drinks. Would definitely dine at Jakers again!

Great place to eat. I got the meatloaf this time, and it was delicious! The potatoes were from a box and could have been thicker.... They were still good, but you could tell they weren't real. Saddening since we were in Idaho which is the home of potatoes.

Server was fantastic and very attentive to our needs and ensured drinks were always full. This was a clean restaurant.

Overall a great experience and I will go back for sure.

So this is my now 2nd Jakers experience while living in Idaho. My 1st was in in Twin Falls and now more locally in the Boise area. We came last Thursday night and while we had to wait a little bit for a table it was well worth it. We stat at the var for about 30 mins and enjoyed an adult beverage while we waited. The bartenders were all over it and again showed what a great place this is on a Thursday night and being totally packed. Inside the restaurant the ambience is typical steakhouse vibe with lots of open seating with tables and nice pricey between.

For dinner I had the ribeye cooked medium rare with a baked potato on the side. My wife had the prime rib also cooked medium rare with baked potato as well. I have to say and I have been to steak houses all across the USA this might be one of the better ribeyes and cut of meat I have had. I would put this up against any high end steak and while not cheap here either this ribeye is so flavorful and perfectly cooked every time. My mouth is watering just thinking about this steak while typing this review. Equally my wife loves prime rib and this one is something special. The smoke and seasonings on this is so delicious and one of the best she has had and I have tasted. She did say it was a 2nd place to mine that I cook at home but she could've just been making me feel good. LOL.

Staff here from the front of house, bar and wait staff is on point and both times super knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be making this our regular steak house now and look forward to our next visit.

We've been here several times over the years, and twice in the past month. The food is slightly better than average, but depends heavily on what dish--for example, no on the calamari (strips without much flavor, slightly overfried), yes on the cap steak (prepared as requested, and a rare find in a restaurant). A fun and robust cocktail and adult beverage menu. We last were there for a Saturday Happy Hour, and sat at a high-top in the bar area. (Just FWIW, we two had problems staying seated comfortably, and kept sliding off the seats, LOL! The bar vs table area is also a bit narrow, and we regularly "interacted" with body parts from others getting into/out of their bar chairs.)

Jakers had JUST, earlier that week, converted to an electronic (tablet) ordering system. Our server warned us that he was still learning it, and we were fine with that. He worked hard to get our orders into the slightly uncooperative system. Whether because of this system, or the growing crowd, or ?, the timing of items coming to us, from drinks to apps to entrees, was longer should be. Some items were mixed up (wrong items brought to the table), delayed, or in one case, simply missed (but still on the bill).

BUT, the worst of it all was the small print on the final bill. Thank goodness one of us read it closely. A new, 4% fee is added to any credit card transaction. We are told it is to support the new electronic system.

Taking everything together, from "meh+" food to uneven service, to the silent 4%, we won't be back. (We do realize that more restaurants are passing along fees to diners, but simply don't think it's worth paying, at Jakers...especially if it is for a business/infrastructure improvement.)

I live in North County San Diego, but I have relatives in Idaho and we visit from time to time. Ever since I discovered Jakers, we make a point of having a meal there during each visit. My most recent visit was last week; I didn't have time to write a review while I was visiting.

Jakers has 6 locations, 4 in Idaho and 2 in Montana. I have eaten only at the Meridian (Idaho) location.

I have consistently found Jakers Meridian to be flawless. The food is wonderful, the service excellent, the atmosphere just right, the location easy to get to. And of course (this being Idaho) the potatoes are out of this world. Their beef is sourced locally. The drinks are tasty and generous. The soups have been superb, even though I know that the lobsters in the lobster bisque weren't sourced locally. Native Idaho lobsters are in the same category as jackalopes.

I've read all of the reviews here, and I see that some of them are pretty negative. I don't know what to say. I didn't experience any of that, and I didn't see anybody around me acting displeased or unhappy. Because I was the driver, I had only one drink, but others in my group explored the drink menu, and found everything they ordered to be just right.

I'll be back again and again. I promise you that if I ever have a less-than-perfect experience I will report it here.

The food was not what I expected, service was ok... ambiance was ok

The bar was empty and the bartender neighbor came to ask me how my food wise but the couple next to me whiskey checked on every 10 seconds.

Manager gave me a five dollar discount on the salty gravy

Came in today and had the meatloaf. Meatloaf was good but gravy was salty. The mac & cheese was very bland.

What a terrible experience tonight. All the food took a very long time to come out. And it came out in stages... not all at once, things forgotten by the kitchen. I got a mushroom Swiss burger which was over cooked and dry. The fries were luke warm... barely. The fettuccine chicken wasn't even fettuccine sauce. It was a spicy peppery brown sauce. Not cool if a kitchen changes a dish that much, they should warn a person. The steak was ordered with a side of sautéed mushrooms which didn't arrive until nearly the entire dish was eaten... even though we asked for them twice. I'm certain that if management checked the ticket times for tonight's entrees they would be sorely disappointed. It was a terrible night for a lot of money. #disappointed

Tonight is our first time here and it won't be our last. Service was timely and friendly. Food was delicious and served hot and fresh, fairly quickly. We could smell some of the food aromas when we first entered, and we were not disappointed. Great food and wonderful service. We will be back again many times.
