Grandmaster M.
Our staff is dedicated to bringing the life-changing benefits of Taekwondo to people of all ages. Taekwondo is a dynamic, aerobic sport that will improve your flexibility, strength, stamina, balance and focus with regular training, and our home-grown instructors have four national championships under their belts to prove it ^^ In addition to classes, we offer a full after school program that includes engaging martial arts instruction, homework supervision, and a purpose-built recreational space where our students can (and do) get the silly out. Our program is designed to engage our younger generation of students on their level, and to give busy parents some peace of mind: when your children are with us, their growth, wellbeing, and happiness are our first priorities. We currently pick up directly from six school districts: Croton Harmon, Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland, Ossining, Yorktown, and St. Augustine. We also offer a popular annual summer camp for children of all ages, with tiered participation options to fit your plans. Students who spend their summers kicking it with us not only get the benefits of full-day care and daily Taekwondo instruction, but are immersed in a choc-a-bloc slate of games, activities, and exciting field trips designed to enrich body and mind. Generations of local adults and children have improved their fitness, confidence, and self-control at J.Y. Moon Taekwondo. We hope that you'll be next.

This martial arts studio has phenomenal instruction. Grandmaster Moon sits on the advisory commitee for the Taekwondo world headquarters. I am very grateful to have found a school of such a caliber.

Some of the instructors are great. However, be prepared to watch your toddler spend most of their time sitting and watching other students perform while they grow bored. The reason is the class sizes are too large and disorganized.
Secondarily, when you attempt to go on vacation or stop going, they will require you to pause or cancel in writing. No phone calls or email or website will suffice. Even after you cancel in writing, be prepared to get billed long after and then you'll need to pay your bank to put an ACH stop payment to get the billing to stop.
They don't pickup the phone or return phone calls or respond to emails. I've left 3 voicemails over two weeks, no response.
There are better options available.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bryan C.New York, NY01Dec 20, 2018
My family has been going to JY Moon for almost 4 years now. Multiple children are enrolled as well as 2 adults. We are beyond satisfied with the level of instruction, the professionalism and patience of the staff towards our kids, and the level of expectations that JY Moon Taekwondo has for the children of all different skill levels and ages. It's easy to see why so many of the young adults who have taken classes since they were kids are still training, even coming back during college breaks to train.
Another bonus is the summer camp they offer. Great field trips to the pool, hikes in state parks, trips to museums and other outdoor activities. My kids never complain about this camp.
Come take a trial class and see why so many families stay for so many years. I wish I'd had this when I was a kid!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - F. Q.Croton-on-Hudson, NY01Apr 7, 2017First to Review
Be aware of the fine print before you sign their contract. The master is a shrewd businessman who employs high-pressure sales techniques (while your kid looks on), and then there is almost no way to end the year-long contract. We ended up paying over $500 for *two* classes. The instructors are ok, but our child was almost seriously injured because younger children are not carefully monitored in larger classes. Avoid unless you are certain that this is the studio for you.
