If your are looking for some mouthwatering southern food, in Montgomery, J.W. Beverette's soul food is your place. Everything was bursting with flavor, from the juicy, cook-to- order fried chicken, to the well seasoned collards and black-eyed peas.
The staff was extra friendly and very attentive which added to our experience.

Quite simply the best meal we had in Montgomery. Owner Teresa's exuberance and joy welcomes you in before being echoed through the delicious food. Highlights included the mac n cheese, fried chicken and fish, and peach cobbler. And very accommodating of dietary restrictions within our group. Amazing soul food from even better people.

All the 5 star reviews are true. We tried the fired chicken and the fish, along with sides, black eye peas, greens and the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. The lady even brought me a sample of. The cooked cabbage to try, it was also good. This is a must if your in Montgomery

If you want to eat someplace really good in Montgomery this is it. We found this place because we decided we wanted soul food. Glad we discovered this gem. Wow everything was excellent and the meals with drink was around $15.00 each. Well worth the price plus portions were a good size and we took food home.

Loved this place. I ordered the fried chicken (not smothered) with mac and cheese, collard greens and fried okra. Food was made fresh to order--came out HOT. Everything was super delicious-- and the quantity was large-- I am getting two meals out of it. Highly recommend.

Ate here while in town for a family birthday. We ordered the wings and should have ordered more. They were spicy, crispy and juicy. The staff was incredibly friendly and so were the other patrons! I also very much enjoyed the lemonade and fried okra. We are always trying to find the best fried chicken and this place is up there on our list now. Not sure when we will back in town, but we will be sure to come back.

If you love Soul Food - run to this restaurant NOW. Do not walk, do not pass go, run - it is that good.

Listen, this is not all the menu, but it should be enough to entice you. Service is amazing, friendly and efficient. Parking is in a private lot out front. It is a small place, only seven tables, so a lot of people get food to go. My son and I ate in and we really enjoyed speaking to the staff, it added to our experience.

Super nice service, and they give a lot! Smothered pork chops were divine, (could drink a glass of the gravy) as were the mac and cheese, dressing and greens.

My wife loved the fried catfish. Not greasy at all but lots of flavor.

Make sure you get the cobbler too!

Before walk in.. prepare yourself for a food orgasm and I pray you aren't driving afterwards cause you are about to touch heaven or at least have that WOW moment. Everything I tried was OMFG SO DELICIOUS. You couldn't tell me this is the Institution of YUMMY. The smothered pork chops with the mac n cheese BEAUTIFUL and pecan pie SINFULLY AMAZING (drooling just thinking about it now). I could go on and on about every experience my mouth, heart and soul felt but I would have to write a book. I honestly and dear heartedly recommend this place. Everything from the beautiful smile greeting me, the chefs putting their souls in the food and to even the vibe was a truly special experience. I don't know how I forgot the fried chicken and catfish.. that is definitely a double orgasm moment. Might wanna save eating that at your house. I definitely had an eye rolling moment, it's like I entered my own world on the first couple of bits and; totally for I was with someone and I wanted to jump up in celebration. As if I won the lottery. I'm totally looking forward to coming back.
