After eating at all the usual places on the water and in town we found this hidden gem.  I can't say enough about how much we throughly enjoyed it.  I had the Vegan tofu plate and I'm not a tofu person, but it was absolutely amazing, so good. My girl had the mahi-mahi and thought it was the best she had on the island, and that is after eating at some high-end restaurants.
Wish I had found Ital in Paradise on previous trips, we can't wait to return.

"Local hole in the wall vegan-friendly joint that serves extremely generously, and seasons their food to perfection." Overall a very pleasant experience. I ordered pick up, the wait was a bit long (30 min), but worth every minute. We had the salmon plate and the tofu plate along with some soursop ice cream (made locally), and their mango and habiscus drink. The total was $60, and at first i felt the price to be a bit on the hefty side, but once I got home I realized the price you pay is truly fitting for what you get.

Unassuming place I almost walked out but I was so glad I didn't! Yet another lesson in "don't judge a book by the cover" It was really good food!! Also as we ate I realized that while it wasn't fancy it was clean, nice and a very enjoyable atmosphere. Fish was fresh and the other vegetarian parts of the dish were fabulous! Nice quiet place on the second floor when we were there. Give this restaurant more traffic it's worth it! Really nice guy there, I think he might have been the owner.

Also the lemonade and the sour lemonade were very tasty! Free refills if I remember correctly.

Great food. Can be a long wait but that's to be expected with food made to order. One time I didn't have enough cash and the credit card machine wasn't working so the guy told me, don't worry about it. I went to the ATM and got more cash, but he wouldn't take it. Kind people.

Glad we found this little place. It's a little place on the 2nd story and is easy to miss. There are a lot of vegan choices but also fish. The daily specials are great. The falafel is really good, and I'm picky about falafel. The salmon was perfectly cooked -- better than most nice restaurants I've been to in the U.S. It went really well with the rice and salad. Very nice, friendly people, too. Oh, and the ginger pineapple juice is amazing and great to get after being seasick on a boat haha.

What a gem! A coworker found this place for us on a recent night out. All three of enjoyed the fresh juices, and found the food to be delicious. It was like a home cooked meal. I'm hoping to go back again while I'm on the island to try another veggie plate.

Always awesome food and local beverages! It can be a challenge to find good vegan food anywhere, but Ital in Paradise never ceases to come through. Today we had a tofu salad and the daily special stewed tofu plate, and they were both out of this world!

We don't usually eat dessert, but there was a beautiful gluten free vegan carrot cake on display and we couldn't resist. It was so moist and delicious that we had to take a piece home for later.

We are so glad that Chris is there for us hungry vegans on St. Croix!

Probably some of the freshest and most tasty food on the island. The fried cauliflower is just about perfect. Fried lentil balls are one of the most satisfying crunches you can find- crunchy on the outside and warm/moist on the inside.

They make two full dishes per say, the veggie plate and the fish plate. The vegan plates are very filling, I've had em all. I usually get the lentil burger sandwich and pour their home-made hot sauce all over it because it's perfect. The curry cabbage is RIDICULOUS.

My fish-eating friend got the Fish plate several times and he told me that the salmon is just about the only salmon he has ever liked. He also talked about the Wahoo sandwich for days. I have brought everyone that visits me to this place as it's one of the best spots on the island.

Ital is located above milk & sugar, directly next to Rhythms. Follow the white steps :)

This is probably my favorite food spot on island. Chris makes his food with love and it tastes great, especially the lentil balls! Oh, my goodness! I don't know what he puts in them but those bad boys are amazing! The homemade melonaide is delicious too, and I am not a fan of melon but Chris has the magic touch. The vibe is very cool in this place too. Lots of Rastas and people who are all about good, kind living. You get a real sense of the island here and you can feed your body and your soul. Highly recommend it!

Best meal of my trip to St.Croix by far! We had the daily Friday special which happened to be tuna, along with homemade papaya lemonade (so good and refreshing!). Tuna was absolutely delicious, seared to perfection and coated in light sauce. It was complemented by local sides including cooked cabbage, rice and a salad. You could tell that everything was made from scratch and cooked with love. I wish I had discovered this place earlier and didn't waste money on boring America food. FYI, this place might br little tricky to notice off the street so I recommend locating it on the map first.

This place was some of the best food we've had on the island and definitely some of the best vegetarian food we've had anywhere. It's definitely a hole in the wall, with patio furniture for tables and chairs, and the floor leans, but don't be turned off by that. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our food came quickly and was delicious. We ordered the special for the evening - BBQ tofu - and the chef gave us a free sample of the other special - stewed tofu. Both were tasty and wonderful, so much food that we have lunch for another day.

The food tastes fresh and flavorful. However, it is kinda pricey. $15 for a veggie plate. I would love to go more often if it was cheaper. I went on a Monday which was coconut curry chickpea tofu with rice, kale, and lentil balls. Not my favorite dish but it was still good. I wish there was more variety in the menu.

Phenomenal food and juices. Will absolutely come back. Sesame oil frying adds a special something to the falafel. Atmosphere is very local with cool air flow.

Let's just say St Croix is not a culinary paradise. Most islands are not anyways. BUT We have found Ital In Paradise in Christianstead. WOOOOW! So far the most delicious food we had on the island. I had the fish & my wife had Vegan. Both were super tasty. They are a small (4table) gem tucked on second floor walking distance from the water. EAT HERE! You owe your taste buds a favor after all the fried food served everywhere.

We found this place on yelp and since it was right on Queens St walking distance from the boardwalk we thought we'd give it a try. We weren't disappointed. It's a very small unassuming place, but don't let that fool you...the good is very good and full of flavor. Compared to the restaurant's on the boardwalk this place beats them hands down. You just get the ocean view. The potion sizes are huge as well. Give this small family owned business a try and you won't be disappointed.

Great healthy food in the heart of Christiansted. Every day has a featured vegan or fish plate (salmon) with a variety of sides. Appetizers include lentil balls, like crispy falafel, and fried cauliflower (not always available, but a treat when it is, ask ahead). Some delicious desserts and fabulous local drinks as well. Try the peanut punch, my favorite, almost a meal in itself!

On our honeymoon on St. Croix, we came to Ital for dinner, twice, and loved it both times. We came hungry, and the meals were hearty and delicious, just what we were looking for: nice salad, tasty hot lentil balls, peanut tofu, and BBQ tofu. Not too spicy, not too rich, just good food.

We weren't sure what we wanted to drink, so we went with Christopher's recommendations both nights, and we were glad we did. The peanut blended shake was yummy, and there was a local moringa, lemongrass, and Spanish thyme tea that had a wonderful floral scent and fruity taste. Not much seating, but it wasn't too busy, and the atmosphere and conversation were delightful. Next time we're on the island, we'll be back!

Without a doubt the best restaurant we visited during our time on St Croix. The atmosphere was very homey and not unlike eating in a friends dining room or kitchen and the food was absolutely dynamite. Before you give up on finding great food in St Croix, be sure to check out Ital in Paradise.

Seems to be closed.  We found the sign but it's torn and worn looking.  It appears to be on the second story, but the door was closed and locked during business hours.
