My wife loved how this place was curated. A nice collection of well made, stylish clothing mostly for women (a few men's items) and some stuff for kids.
We were shopping for relatives when my wife said "this is your sisters style" and "I can see your mom wearing this. "
The owner does an excellent job getting local designs and if you end up liking the place, you could accomplish a good deal of your shopping requirements here.
Note: the manager/owner? was an excellent host and helpful. Definitely deserve your time while shopping.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 15, 2017
Classic souvenir and clothing shop right off a stretch of touristy stores as you make your way to the busiest sections of Waikiki. If you're staying at any of the hotels on the west side of Waikiki, it's probably one of the first small stores you'll find as you make your way to the more touristy sections.
Most of the products here seemed aimed at women, so I wasn't particularly interested. They had dresses, belts, hair accessories, etc. I'd seen better prices at a lot of other stores, including Hamilton Boutique just a couple of doors up the way, so we ended up passing on buying anything.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa K.Honolulu, HI161162177Aug 24, 2010
Oh, how I wish I was one of those fashionistas that can accessorize without a second thought. However much I love cute ensembles, I lack whatever gene is need to mix-and-match off the rack.
But what I lack in style finesse, I make up by filling my wardrobe with Island Sweetie clothes.
The store belies its Kalakaua Avenue storefront location by catering to more than just tourists with big bucks and an appetite for Hawaii souvenirs. When I first found myself in the store, lured by the oh-so-fashionable mannequins in the window, I was shocked at the affordability of this little boutique. "What?! You mean this trendy little shop fits in my budget? Score!"
And "score," I have. I'm slowly working my way up the style ladder with dresses and accessories that constantly garner compliments, plus double as upscale-looking weekend wear in humid Hawaii.
Don't let the location fool you - it's kamaaina-friendly (they even give a kamaaina discount) and offers super-cute, surprisingly affordable chicness.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jay C.Honolulu, HI144Oct 8, 2020
This shop is very special place. The owners are very professional about their business follows by their untold business experience in Waikiki. Very strictly selected or self designed clothing selections from scratch, highly recommended from Japanese Celebrities. What else needed to be said. Highly recommended for your cool casual daily wears. (Personally loves the men's Aloha shirts from them). Aloha

Cute dresses, all about $40-$75, much different than most typical shops in Waikiki. Just a few doors down from Hard Rock Cafe. Got myself some cute ones!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Angie S.Honolulu, HI1432711045Mar 31, 2013Updated review
I just have to say once again I am so impressed by the girls working here. They are so sweet, friendly, conversational and make my experience here 100 times better. It really puts out a great atmosphere and makes me want to stay! Way to reel me in! Got an adorable piece of home decor a wooden sign with a cute quote on it. Attached a pic. Thanks again for the great experience Island Sweetie!

it's really funny to read the yelp reviews because it looks like japanese stuff that they got in hawaii...but almost everything is from...LOS ANGELES!!! =)
no wonder i wanted to go to island sweetie!! =D
but you know, if it were sold in hermosa beach or santa monica, it would be twice the price. they have accessories, dresses, tops, etc. for comparision, think katwalk (hermosa beach)...with more flirty dresses..
made in good ole' LA!! the secret's out.. ;)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mui K.Monterey Park, CA61664336Feb 11, 2013
This place has really cute clothes. Not only does it have long, flowery maxi dresses, it has a lot of other cute things. Shorts, tops, nice dresses, etc. I also love the fact that they had a lot of small sizes. It's a tiny boutique so I was expecting a lot of their small clothing items to be sold out. Not the case!
I ended up buying a maxi dress and a going out dress but there were a lot of other things I liked.
Worth a stop if you like boutique shopping :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - vanessa a.San Francisco, CA702323Nov 19, 2009

one of my favorite no name purses is from island sweetie its kind of cross between a picnic basket and one of those luella signature bags. i was shopping with some of my girlfriends and they both hated the bag but i saw something in it that they didn't coupled with the fact that it was on major sale there was no way it was not coming home with me! now i get tons of compliments on it and i love to tell people its from island sweetie in hawaiiHelpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jennifer M.San Jose, CA211381394Oct 11, 2009First to Review
Fun and cute clothes that are perfect for the tropics! The salesgirl was super sweet and friendly. I wish I had more time to browse around, but everyone in the group kept rushing me to head to the beach. Maybe later? Stop by this store and you too can look like an island sweetie.
