Other than Wendy's chocolate Frosty, I don't know where else you can find real chocolate soft serve ice cream. This place has it in FOUR sizes. AND it's COLD. They have a lot of ice cream in four sizes: kids, small, medium and large. If there are no kids sizes, then it appears they offer a jumbo size like for floats, sundaes, slushes, and shakes. Plus, they offer sugar free ice cream. That has to be rare, yes?
The food menu looks interesting. I wouldn't mind trying the Sloppy Joe sandwich, the BBQ sandwich, the Coney Dog or the Chicken Salad sandwich next time. Looks like you could get a quick lunch here if you were in a hurry.
I'm not sure how the drive through works as I didn't circle the building. I prefer not eating in a vehicle so I partook at one of the many picnic tables provided which was in the shade, by the way. There are at least 12 parking places, more if you count the gravel area. There are two after what looks to be the drive thru lane. Beware they close October 2nd for the winter.

I ordered a flurry and a Sunday for me and my wife. I live 1 mile away . The kid brought out the Sunday first with no lid or napkins. 3 mins later brought out the flurry by that time the Sunday had already melted running down my arm . By the time I got it home I was wearing most of it and all over my truck. I changed and went to dairy queen where I should have gone in the first place.

We arrived right before the rush ... with only a few cars ahead of us.
Within a couple minutes, we were greeted by one if the workers with a pad in hand ready to take our order.
After finally getting our kiddos to decide what they wanted (after changing their minds multiple times)....she was able to head in with our order (her patience was amazing...all the while maintaining a smile and kindness).
In about 5 minutes we received everything we ordered (talk about prompt)... especially since it was an order from 5 people - each requesting something different.
Once we received the food, we all dove in immediately. All I can say is my turtle sundae was delicious and we had quiet from our kiddos ... that is, until they finished their treat!
Always love stopping in when we are back in town.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Beth P.Indianapolis, IN020Jun 2, 2024
Horribly ran small business. Building is in poor condition and always out of most menu items because they say because of supplier's. Do not recommend. They should close!

Thanks so much for your comments. Unfortunately, supply issues are real. I’m sorry you think we are lying about that. It’s also true that our building is old, approximately 60+ years, in fact. Your review and assumptions are noted on this platform as well. Thank you for visiting us.

I don't normally write reviews, but I decided to so after our recent visit to Inside Scoop.
Complaint #1
The ice cream shop used to be very well ran a few years back, but they changed ownership at one point and ever since, it hasn't been as good. The service is slow. In fact while we were there (ordering from the window and eating our ice cream), only 1 vehicle pulled out of the drive through. We witnessed a couple of cars pulling out of the drive through prior to getting their order taken. A couple of years ago, they re-marked their drive through and parking area and now once you're in, there is no way out without going out the entrance, which is very dangerous with people coming in. You can't circle around the building, without being in the drive through lane. What they need to do is purchase the strip of land behind them that is owned by the city and then have a drive that goes out to the street behind the gas station. The drive would also be useful to the gas station as well.
Complaint #2
As for the flurry I ordered, I requested two add-ins and my thought it would be half a serving of each add-in. I think they put a full serving of each add-in making it have more add-ins than ice cream. For those who really liked a lot of add-ins, that would be great, but I thought it was way too much.
Complaint #3
Their signs showing what they have to order are sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper, with probably 12 size font. You can't read them from a distance and if you have any vision issues, forget it.
Complaint #4
They put signs up in all windows, which I know it is no doubt to keep the sun out of the building and that they can still see out, but for those on the outside, it is very impersonal and you can't tell which window you should go to for service, since they are not marked. When the order is ready, they open up the window long enough to put the ice cream out on a ledge and call out what it is. If two different people ordered the same item, you wouldn't know whose it was. they don't wait for someone to come up and claim it. They also sit it down on the ledge, that can't be clean. My husband ordered a cone and he stood up at the window when it was getting close and waited, so they wouldn't sit it down on a dirty ledge. If they did, you wouldn't want to eat the bottom of the cone.
With a few minor changes, they could be a much better ice cream restaurant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I appreciate your feedback and will address the toppings ratio with employees. Ownership has been with our family since 2006. We absolutely did cover the windows in an effort to cool the building down as the heat can be hard to control with doors/windows being opened/closed so much. We can also make improvements with better visuals. Unfortunately, we can’t do much about the size of our parking lot. The property behind us is not owned by the city. We have tried multiple times over the years, with the city’s help, to purchase that strip of land from the owners of the gas station, and they will not engage with us nor city officials. It’s not perfect by any means, but the best solution we had when the city was completing construction in front of our business. Thanks for visiting us.

Ice team is good every time we go. Service is sometimes slow. The drive thru will back up onto the road and if you park you might get stuck eating on the drive thru line to get out. I peaked at the gas station but there is a sign that says no parking. Not sure why they have a big parking lot at the gas station. They do t have a menu up but you can pretty much ask for anything.

The scoop is usually good they are always helpful if something is wrong. The new drive thru process is not ideal, accident waiting to happen. With limited parking they are trying to improve but the other way worked better. Still worth the visit.

Thanks for your comment! W it new technology, we think the drive thru experience has improved. The completion of construction projects has helped, too! Thanks for visiting us!

While I found service to be swift even with 4-5 cars ahead of us, the ice cream tasted as though it had freezer burn and / or tasted old! Surprised especially being late August, I would think they'd still be going through their tubs of ice cream quickly! Not sure I would come back here again.

Ice cream is amazing, right? Especially when you combine it with cookies, candy, fruits, and all different kinds of syrups. What's not so amazing is waiting forever for said ice cream, which is exactly what you'll do at Inside Scoop.
Don't even think about attempting to order if there's more than one person in line, because you'll be waiting at least 10 minutes. And if there's a car or two in the drive-thru, forget about it: the poor young employees won't be able to keep up with more than two orders without getting confused and backlogged (I don't say this to be cruel, I'm simply stating my observation from two personal experiences).
My treats have been great both times, but the wait...oh, the wait! I don't feel like the wait is worth itHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 3, 2018
This little ice cream shop could be a a little better than it is. The ice cream selection is your normal selection of items found at a ice cream stand. Nothing really jumps out at me on the menu. The menu board has been updated and is easy to read now. I ordered a turtle pie sundae and was asked what size. There is only one price on the menu board so this confused me a little. Apparently you can order anything on the menu and make it what size you want but there is no way of knowing that before hand or the price you will be charged. After I placed the order for my wife and I I handed my card to the young cashier and I was instructed it's a .50 charge to use a credit card. Not such a big deal but I don't really like being surprised. Once you place your order they close the window before the next person online can order. If a party of 5 orders an item the open and close the window 5 times and call out each order. It was literally like 5 seconds between each item. Looks like high school kids are staffing the place and no management so maybe this is the issue. Could be better with a little training and oversight.
