Impress Nails

Wonderful service today at Impress Nails in Red Wing from Chien Nguyen, the artist. Nails are perfection. Amazing!! Another "best."

This was my first time at this salon and it will also be my last! Yikes! I made an appointment for a regular mani/pedi. Starting with the pedi... when I said the water was cool and I like it hotter I was informed it was hot! She asked if I wanted to burn myself!?! Entire pedicure to 20 minutes and that's with gel polish removal!
Next manicure. I said what I had on my nails was powder. She removed it with an acrylic nail!! Never have I had that before, and trust me when I say it hurt. No pre soaking or prep prior to taking it off. I had regular polish put on because I like to not let my nails get soft and thin with too much powder or gel. Yesterday I took the polish off and 3 of my nails were torn near the quick(sp) and covered why the polish. I can't get them filed smooth even after cutting them so short! I know gel and dips can be hard in your nails and nail bed, but her yanking off the polish didn't help. Plus charged me an extra $10 to take it off. Let this be your warning. Keep looking for your next nail salon.

Call in appointment times are never kept, wait time usually an hour. You just have to show up and you may get in faster!

I literally got my gel manicure done and I went home after having them redo it three times to get the result of the pictures above... Not happy... I'm willing to pay for quality and I did not get it what so ever... It also was upsetting to see the person doing mine getting upset and short with me after each time I said it wasn't quite right.... Not happy at all.

I'm back my new nail tech... Amazing ! Final review- I'm sticking with Tracy for all things nails!

Friendly, fast, and great quality. My family went here every few weeks for months while we lived in the area. My gel polish lasted three weeks! We never tried walk in appointments since they're always busy, we always called ahead at least the day before, but they always stayed on schedule. ***Just have to remember they're cash only. Thanks!

The best gel French manicure I've gotten- ever. Expert advice on color pairing, no bubbles or bare spots on my nails, even lines and a guarantee that they will last at least two weeks without wear! My nail technician, Jien, is not just a perfectionist, but a true artist. Born in Vietnam, he came to Minnesota four years ago, leaving behind friends and family as well as his dream job in graphic design. All the art on the walls in the salon are done by Jien, and they highlight aspects of life in Vietnam. The most surprising detail of the artwork is the material used to create these visions, some of which are made not with traditional paint, but with butterfly wings! Come to this place not only for the great nail care, but also for the conversation and proud works of art.

The pedicures and manicures have been great and last. The employees are kind and welcoming. They can also speak English proficiently. I give it four stars because they do a great job trying to fit in walk ins but I have had to wait when I have had an appointment.
