1/3/2020I was skeptical since this was a grubhub order, but the chicken sandwich actually had a lot of flavor and the sauce was complimentary. It was a good size as well with plenty of chicken so you'll feel full for a long while.

1/3/2020Ike's has been around for as long as I can remember. I used to swing by here in high school when we hung out at the Serramonte Mall. Nothing much has changed here. I love the sandwiches here--no particular favorite, but usually the ones with chicken or roast beef.
Recently, I visited here after about 10 years. I ordered the Madison Bumgarner and the meat was just so juicy. I usually order with no cheese as well just because I'm not a fan of cheddar.
The downside to this place is that the ambience is very dingy food court feel. I would recommend against bringing a date here. This is more of a grab-and-go experience.

When it comes to Ike's sandwiches, location has a lot to do with it and this one seems to be hit and miss. The main reason I come to this one is because of proximity to my house. That being said, this makes me miss the OG SF location. Here's why...
On my most recent visit, went with the Ménage a Trois. This time I ate in, so it would be fresh as possible. The Dutch crunch that had no crunch, was soggy/stale tasting and the chicken was dry. The sauces saved the sandwich though. Was it still edible, of course it was! Just not the quality and size I've come to expect from an Ike's sandwich.
Although the menu has expanded, the quality of the veggies don't taste as fresh and they be skimpy with the meat. Scaling and expanding the Ike's brand was needed because of popularity but I feel like it it's lost some of the magic.
That being said, whenever I'm lazy and order delivery, it may not be my first choice, but the sandwich serves its purpose, so plus for the convenience. However, with so many deli/sandwich options in the area, just hope they can regain some of the original Ike's mojo!

10/30/2019Addictive Dutch crunch bread and sauce. I have gotten the Hollywood 3 times. With sandwiches, I'm always the one that pulls half the meat out because it's too much. I prefer the sandwich where it's all about the bread (like the French with their baguette sandwich).
But with Ike's I feel like there should be more meat and insides, it feels kind of sparse? Will continue to go back.

Apparently there's no Ike's in the Mission anymore (what?!?!) but now there is one in Serramonte so I came here to get my fix. Menage a Trois tastes just as good as before, and here you don't have to circle for parking.

1/20/2020I love the sandwiches here. The taste and quality are excellent. However, I gave a two-star rating for bad customer services. I don't understand why tips are solicited as no employees clean up mess on the tables, and customers have to do it themselves.
I usually give people benefit of doubt so I tipped during my first visit. Then I saw dirty tables but no employees cleaned them up during the whole time I was eating there. I even had to clean up previous customers' mess myself so I could have a clean table to sit down and eat. This is ridiculous and worse than McDonald's customer services. McDonald does not even ask for tips. Sorry no tips next time from me for IKE's. I - Ashley T.Sacramento, CA
3/15/2019Came two days in a row as i don't live near an Ike's but love the food.
First day the cashier who I've seen get complaints on other reviews didn't look up once And was on his phone under the register the whole time.
Went back the next day to get my Ike's fill and the group in front was 4 people same group but paid separately and the same guy paid for all 4 meals...I know, different but whatever they are paying. And same guy at register who didn't look up before was huffing and puffing with annoyance on This group. Look pal these people paying are your paycheck chill.
My only Thing that grossed me out was white girl in back wasn't wearing a hair net and all others were.
Oh ps this .75 employee charge you have is crazy you have a $10 sandwich being whipped up out of your store every 90 seconds you don't need the extra .75 cents.
In conclusion won't be coming back to this location will go to others though - Peter M.Daly City, CA

These sandwiches are ok. They've got some pretty unusual combinations, but they don't really wow. I've had the Matt Cain, the madbum, some others, and most recently the Damon Bruce. Compared to places like Little Lucca, Teanni's, Lou's, for example, Ike's sandwiches don't give you very much bang for your buck. They charge more than the other places, but they give you much less meat, less veggies, shorter bread rolls, etc. And they dont have the sauces and spreads that punch you in the mouth with flavor that their competitors do.
I used to go to the IKEs by church street in SF and, i swear they packed more meat in their sandwiches than the one in DC.
Also, on my most recent visit last week, service was super slow. There were 5 people ahead of me and it took them over 20 minutes to make my sandwich. I seriously could have gotten a hot lunch at a sit down restaurant in less time. - Donna L.San Francisco, CA

We came here for the 420 special. $4.20 for a Matt Cain or ménage Trois sandwich but you must also purchase a fountain drink and a bag of chips.
It was a great deal. I ordered mine on Dutch crunch with everything on it.
The Dutch crunch bread on My ménage trois was soft. I was disappointed. Bread is everything. My hubby's Dutch crunch Matt Cain was crunchy and it tasted
Excellent.
Still, it was a great deal for a $12 sandwich b

Sandwich is fine, but service is terrible. We came today on a rainy day and there's my family and one other family so it's really slow. The guy at the counter was super rude. I asked a question and it's as if I bugged him while he was on his break or something. He was super dismissive and looked annoyed while he was taking our order. I wanted to tell him, "Dude there are literally 2 tables occupied in here and maybe more would come if you didn't look like you would bite off your customers' heads if they dared to come in and order."
I checked in and wanted to take advantage of the free bag of chips they offer for check ins and when I showed him, he just shewed me off.
Terrible customer service. This guys is mad at life or something. No name tag but he made a cameo on the photo. - Alyssa C.Daly City, CA

Wow I cant believe I havent written a review for this place yet. This location is pretty consistent with service and quality. I dont think I've ever had a bad experience here. Food always comes out pretty quick, unless theyre busy but even then its like a 5 min wait max. My usual order is the Matt Cain on dutch crunch. That godfather sauce is soooo good! The Jaymee Sirewich is pretty good too, I'm not a BBQ sauce type of person so I wasnt sure if I was going to like the yellow BBQ sauce they use, but it turned out bomb AF! If you like pesto then you'll like the Spiffy Tiffy, its a chicken & pesto sandwich. I also love how their dutch crunch is more soft compared to other places. Come here if youre ever craving a good sandwich, you wont be disappointed!

8/8/2019I love Ike's!!! So many different sandwiches, so many different choices, should I get chicken no wait ham today no maybe turkey; maybe a little bit of everything lol. Always a tough decision, the staff at this location is always so amazing always so nice some of them know my go to order already haha. This last visit I had to go with Superman's weakness "The Kryptonite." A sandwich that has turkey, roast beef, salami, ham, pastrami, jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and lots lots more!! This sandwich is so big it could feed twno people maybe even 3. At first I thought all this ingredients would be too much but it was perfect I had a bit of everything. From spicy, savory even a bit sweet an amazing sandwich something a foodie must try, and of course it makes an amazing picture too.. thank you Ike's keep up the great work.

4/26/2019I like that the staff here really listen to what you request! :) When I was pregnant, all I craved was the menage a tois sub but with very little chicken.
Each time I would request this, they wouldn't question it but would nod and make the best sub! :) Great service, delicious sandwiches. - Matthew A.Pacifica, CA186 friends120 reviews236 photos
5/17/2019Why are there so many places to get sandwiches, burgers, or something stuffed inside a bread accompanied with condiments and veggies.
Hmm... So, a quick history lesson, a version of present day hamburger was eaten and circulated in 1840's by emigrants on their way to America, that's amazing! Especially when I discovered those very same burgers (maybe much smaller) were only $00.05, yeup, a coined-Washington (right?! Washington, right!?). Anyway, these emigrants ate hamburger aboard the company called Hamburg American Line, which is what my research discovered, offering a lineage and name-christening of this American staple... apparently. There's more info, but nah, let me explain what encouraged this random tidbit.
Ike's sandwiches, they have many and plentiful variations of cold or toasted, veggie-filled or meat-filled or more often ratio of both decided by the customer, delicious chips seemingly only found in their establishment (jalapeño chips, ugggfhhhh yaaassssss!), and adhering to their locals opinion and suggestions, specialties are shrined for all to choose from, and each Ike's site has their own selections!
Hence, my bewilderment of how were sandwiches discovered and then trial-and-error to their many versions of culinary customer pleasers! Nom nom deliciousness!
This establishment has halal choices which is decidedly yummy especially when craving those spices and authentic preparations!
There is another location too, that merits five stars for one of their specialties still leaves a lingering lost for me when I am unable to visit. It's in Burlingame, they have a Million Dollar hoagie, that's made with pesto and creamy cheese made with gently coaxed to tempered clucking perfection chicken! Soooooooo gewddddd!
So, to sum it up, hamburgers good, Ike's Sandwiches are experts, and if you are feeling the need to attain a reason for sightseeing, there are many places you could visit and still feel the similar comforts of a place that treats you like family!
Thanks for great food!

8/25/2019After shopping/errands, we decided to go to Ike's for a sandwich since it's been awhile. I ordered my usual fave, menage a trois on Dutch crunch.
We get home and I was so disappointed! The bread is SOGGY! Not one piece was crunchy or crisp. It seemed like instead of putting it into a toaster oven, it was put in the microwave. How is it possible to have a soft Dutch crunch roll?! What a waste of $10. - Athina L.San Bruno, CA

I still remember when Ike's was just the one in the city and how good the sandwiches were. I'm not sure if the quality of the sandwiches went down or what, but I was pretty disappointed. The quality of the meat (I ordered the Damon Bruce, so sliced ribeye) felt over cooked and crunchy. I don't remember it being this way before. I felt like my sandwich was really salty. I was disappointed because I haven't been here in awhile. Maybe I will change my sandwich choice next time since the one I usually get doesn't seem to have the same good taste that I remember. It's a quick place to get a sandwich and I do like their bread. It came out quickly and it's an easy location to get to, conveniently located in the mall. Staff was friendly and if you check in you get a free bag of chips!!

Ike's has become one of my go-to sandwich spots! I always order the Matt Cain (roast beef, turkey, salami, godfather sauce, provolone) on Ike's world famous dutch crunch! SO YUMMY! Sandwich is served hot and includes their dirty sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes. They also offer jalapeños, mustard, banana peppers, pickles, red onions, and the option to make it extra dirty (extra of their house sauce) all free upon request. I've never had a bad experience here and the staff is nice. Don't forget to check in for a free bag of chips!

10/18/2019I've been coming to Ikes since the sf location was the only one around. As I walk in tonight, 20 mins before closing I am greeted by a young girl rolling her eyes at me, walking extremely slow around the counter. In a condisending tone she takes my order and the other young man throws my sandwich together so fast and sloppy it looked discusting. Sad to say I'll never come back to this location. I love the franchise but customer experience is everything.
