I really like I-Grill. My colleague took me here for lunch, and I am blown away that something like this exists in Minneapolis, yet alone in a skyway occupied by business people during the day. It serves Chipotle-style lunch options (veg / non-veg) and what is unique is the price point of $4.99/3.99

What a steal for pretty good Indian food!

      Ordered
      - Non Veg Platter (4.5/5). There were an assortment of curries, beef, and two naan to go with it. My plate was colorful and yummy

I thoroughly enjoyed this and being part of this 'cafeteria-style' setting in downtown. This is added to another repeat go-to spot for when I am working in the office. cheers!

Got the non-veggie platter. How it works according to the guy serving me, you add as much as you can fit on the plate. Sounds like a great way to try a little bit of everything.

Anyway, I can't recall all the actual names, but below's what I got and the dish came w/ naan.

-RICE THAT HAS CHICKEN IN IT: very flavorful and no spice
-CURRY POTATO: really good tender pieces of potato and green pepper at medium spice level
-BUTTER CHICKEN: good. mildy spicy, tomato based, yet creamy flavor
TANDOORI CHICKEN: almost no spice. Grilled and yet still moist.

Only thing I'll add is beware of chicken bones when eating. I imagine because the items are cooked slow, small pieces break off from the meat.

That said, everything was tasty, the employees were kind and the price was fair at $7.75 (post tax).

Top left - right: Curry Potato, IDK Bottom left - right: Tandoori Chicken, Rice with Chicken, Butter Chicken

I know people are raving about this place because they have $5.99 meat and $4.99 veggie option dishes which is much reasonable than a lot of places downtown for lunch but the reasonable cost should not distract from the quality of food. I have had much better tasting Indian food and think that maybe due to the low cost they have watered down their flavor to make the food stretch.

I had the spicy chicken with the lemon rice and the mixed rice, cabbage, and curry with a side of naan. The customer service was friendly and fast. The place was full and luckily found a seat.

Once I started eating I realized my lemon rice was luke warm, and the mixed rice had some chicken bone in it. -This was annoying. The curry meat gravy and naan were good and the flavor of the spicy chicken was decent but nothing special.

I am all about a good deal but I can tell when the quality is not up to snuff. Low cost shouldn't and doesn't mean low quality and because of that they are just ok in my book.

The store had been open for a couple of months now and been craving for some India food. It wasn't busy so I stopped in. They gave me a good generous chunk of portion but I can see why. The food wasn't all that as some of the reviewers stated like I have read. The food was bland, except the salt flavor. When it comes to India foods, I'm used to all the spices in the rice biriyani and curry dishes so this one does not do it. The food looks cheap, some chopped cabbage, bland curry, the grilled tandoori has no flavor beside salt and red color dyed. I am not please with my lunch today.
You can stop if you want by but it will be my first and last stop. I gave 1 stat for cleanliness and the second one for trying.

Generous portion of anything I want for about $6 that's the price with meat and a dollar less for the vegetarian option. You get to choose any entree dish they have for such a great price and I love how generous they are. It's like comfort food! The basimati chicken rice was delicious and flavorful! The chicken with it was tender. I love the spicy chicken [the red chicken]. The curry chicken was good but got cold quick. Possibly because I went at around 1:30. The spinach looked greasy but it was mushy like mashed potatoes - wasn't too bad. Although I will have to try the potatoes next time. But the best part was *drum rolls* the garlic Naan bread! They were so good especially when it's dipped in the curry sauce - my mouth is watering.

Overall service was fast and the guy serving did a great job explaining this ever so simple menu to choose from. I will be back again because it's quick and fills me up at a decent price

I ordered off Grubhub. The app specifically says that the curry comes with white rice AND naan. Order gets here and there's no rice. Grubhub says that it's white rice OR naan. What's the point of curry without white rice? That's like a hamburger without the bun. A burrito without the tortilla. Spaghetti and meatballs without the noodles.

The manager agreed to refund $2. Thanks for the cup of curry and a shitty dinner experience. Avoid at all costs.

      Overall Experience:
For lunch this place is the best for home-style Indian food at an extremely low price for all you can select menu items. I might stop by for dinner since this place is open till 7PM which is extremely rare for a skyway restaurant. In terms of flavors rich and flavorful, thankfully authentic not Americanized :D

      Taste:
As authentic as it gets, it's like you went to an Indian family's dinner as an uninvited guest which sometimes you gotta do if you want good food. Not saying I've done it but you get the gist ;)

      Food Quality:
Everything seems to made on spot, especially considering the background of the restaurant you can tell there are parents making the dishes.

      Restaurant Appearance:
Reminded me of Chipotle for Indian food which I wouldn't mind having more of all around Minnesota. Design is modern and gets to the point with the dishes being a la carte with no restrictions in terms of selection.

      Recommended Party Size:
During lunch time 1-4 but the place can seat bigger groups but you gotta plan ahead as this is the skyway.

      Service:
Speedy, the line wrapped around but it only took a few minutes to get in line and pay. They are also using the latest Clover payment system which I've only seen in the West coast. Modern and high tech, you gotta love restaurants who are keeping up with the trends.

      Pricing:
I can only comment about the opening week price which is $5 for the meat platter and $4 for the veggie platter which in all honestly they let you get anything you want in your plate which is god given. Please keep it around this price and you got a customer for life :D

      Parking:
Street parking is usually the cheapest option but it's connected to the skyway so you can't really complain too much unless you're not connected like I was.

      Quality has gone south.
Used to love Indian bread at this location, but now it's no longer freshly made, even kabob was bad.

Keep reading til the end for a shocking exchange between myself vs the owner AJ, and his angry employee who parks all day in 1 of the building's 2 visitor parking spots.

First, the food review. I like Indian food, I enjoy the smells, the texture, the taste, it's wonderful when done correctly. Unfortunately iGrill misses the mark on everything but the smell. I've ordered food here multiple times and while the smell always whets my appetite, the meal itself leaves me wishing it was more consistent. The chicken is frequently undercooked and the rice is usually overcooked and/or too dry. The spices and curry are inconsistently applied. The prices appear to be fair but only if you expect something equivalent to Taste of India. (I'll visit there again soon and write my review afterward) But alas, iGrill compares to Taste of India like Taco Bell compares to Boca Chica, in other words, cheap ingredients by generic cooks vs quality ingedients by chefs who live and breathe authenticity.

But that's not where my review ends. I'd prefer to give this place a big fat zero because of their incredibly rude and confrontational employee and the indifference the owner, AJ, gave to me when I raised my deep concern. My job requires me to drive around the Twin Cities so I am a visitor to many locations and I enjoy eating lunch at different places whenever I can. I regularly visit the building iGrill is located in and because I walk by their storefront on the 2nd floor, I've been a customer several times each time hoping the next meal gets better. In early February, I had just finished my 20min visit, and while preparing to leave the visitor parking spot, I noticed a blue van parked sideways behind me blocking me in. I told him I will be leaving and his shocking reply to me was "Good, otherwise you're gonna be blocked in". I asked him to back up and I stopped my car in the driveway with my window down waiting for him to get out. He immediately walked over to me gesturing for me to go away. I asked him why he had to be so agressive and he said "None of your business. Get lost. This is first come first served." I took note of his blue van because as I said, I visit this building every week. It didn't seem to me that he was a visitor like I was, he seemed very angry and entitled. I saw that same van in a Visitor parking spot every week for many weeks afterward but I had no idea who he was or where he worked.

Skipping forward to today, on my visit I spoke with another store owner about the same blue van always parked in the visitor spot and luckily this owner knew what and who I was talking about. He told me the driver of the blue van is an employee of iGrill and he has also made complaints to AJ about that employee using the visitor parking all day every day Monday through Friday. So I walked over to iGrill and asked to speak to AJ. He was at the checkout and when I showed him the picture I posted here and explained his angry employee using a visitor spot, AJ's reply was "We have lots of parking issues. Our employees have a hard time finding parking." I couldn't believe it. I told him "If every parking spot was being used, his employees have no right to park in visitor parking anymore than I have a right to park in a handicapped spot if other parking spots are taken." Just then that same angry employee came out from the back and starting confronting me repeating "Does that spot have your name on it? Does it? Does it?" I said "I'm a visitor to this building and a repeat customer of iGrill so yes Visitor and Customer is my name. It sure doesn't say Employee Parking." Then the employee began puffing out his chest and stepping towards me threateningly so I went back to AJ and said "Are you going to let your employee talk to your customer like that?" He told his employee to go away and as he walked away he said "I'm from Texas, I don't play." And kept staring angrily at me as he walked away. I told AJ now that I know who owns that blue minivan I'm going to look for it every time I'm here and write another Yelp review with a picture documenting this horrible customer experience and his lack of concern to how his employee treats his customers.

Go to Taste of India, get a to go container, and eat that reheated the next day vs going to iGrill where it should really be called iDontCareAboutYou.

The only reason this is not a 1 Star is because the grubhub driver was amazing. Igrill deserves 1 star. They accepted my order but when the grubhub driver try to pick up the food they were closed. What kind of place takes your order and money and then closes? Luckily driver didn't take no for an answer and got our food even if it was wrong had a ridiculously small portion of rice and was missing all nan. My fiancée ordered palak paneer and got butter masala paneer. Completely different. I am new to MN and trying to find my places. This will not be one of them moving forward.

Rice container compared to food/sauce container. And only one container for 2 entrees.
