Fun variety of food, drinks, Boise-inspired merchandise, crafts, entertainment, and informational booths right in Camel's Back Park. There's limited street parking in the neighborhood, so take advantage of the free shuttle from the Presbyterian Church nearby. Note that the parking lot at the park is closed for the fair- used for vendor space.
Go for the good vibes, people watching, and to support a good cause. And for a smoked turkey leg.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amanda S.Boise, ID191718Mar 22, 2022
Probably the best free event in Boise. Unlike Art in the Park, which has turned into a neighborhood craft sale, the Hyde Park Street Fair isn't just about selling people's art and craft projects. Instead, it really feels like a community event that brings together everyone who lives in the north end, and sometimes our neighbors to the west. The focus here is on connecting with people while perusing booths, eating food, listening to local social groups, and watching performances on the main stage. THey have a great variety of talent here, from kids playing marimbas to hackey sack competitions to cultural dancers to music groups. Check the schedule before you come if you're interested in any particular topic, and you're likely to find it--and for free.
If you peer beyond the stage, you'll find slackliners, aerial yogis, and mountain bikers all practicing their sports in the park around you, and that itself is worth watching.
There are usually some good food trucks, with tacos, Pronto Pups, Hawaiian and Greek food, and the usual fried....everything. Luckily, everything tastes better deep fried on a September night.
Parking is a nightmare, but parking in Hyde Park always is, so plan to walk, carpool, or bike if you can. The fun is about being close to the people in the neighborhood, so enjoy the crush of humanity, grab a kombucha and sit back and listen to the latest bluegrass jam band while the sun sets.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mitzi M.Vancouver, WA019446Sep 19, 2015
What a lovely way to spend an autumn afternoon. The fair is well-organized with enough entertainment, food, and goodies to buy. It wasn't overly crowded, although parking is a little challenging because the park borders older neighborhoods and streets are narrow. Have a little patience, don't park in someone's driveway, or areas designated for fair staff, be prepared to walk a little, and you will be fine.
I loved that people brought their canine pals too. So much fun watching everyone having a good time. There is also a cool hiking trail behind the festival grounds. Get a bite to eat, sit on the lawn and listen to live music, or just browse the booths...this fair will not disappoint!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sep 13, 2014First to Review

Parked on a side street with what looked like plenty of room for car to get in/ out of a garage. Weeds knee high in front of it but still I made sure a car could get in it. I left a note on my car with my number just in case. Lady called me and said she was calling police on me. I hurried back with 7 yr old grandson and removed my car immediately and apologized. This lovely lady representing Hyde Park chased me on foot for two blocks and continued to scream at me as I parked in another spot. My grandson was so scared and I was mortified that this lovely representative of Hyde Park neighborhood had taken this to such extremes. Needless to say we'll never go back again.
