I can't believe how poorly maintained this hotel is. When friends stayed here right before the World Cup it had a new coat of paint and new furnishings. It seems they haven't done a thing to maintain it since. The couch in the lobby is visibly pealing it's cheap plastic coating. The walls in the upper level corridors are marked and scratched. We also called about seven times to the front desk before someone finally picked up.
The rooms are clean enough and the breakfast is ok, so it's not a bad option if you get a great deal, but I think the other nearby Melia/tryp hotels are better kept. I would even recommend the blue tree Faria Lima which has a worse location but fun little rooftop pool area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cristina E.Bronx, NY11512Jun 19, 2015
The room is just lovely and no problem with very late check-in (2am after major flight delay) and late checkout. The neighborhood is good and you can walk to everything. The water is hot. They speak English. It meets my purpose of a comfortable one night stay and would be fine for longer stays. I would book this hotel again. Remember your power adapter.
