Q:
What are the vegan options? Is there a spicy broth that's vegan friendly?
A:
Is place is super vegan friendly. They have Veggie broth specifically for Vegans

Is it all you can eat?
A:
Yes, definitely. The max we could fill ourselves was to a 3rd run. Almost felt bursting at that point. They do ask to limit choices of 3 choices from protein, carb and seafood section and 6 from vegetables.

I loved Hot Spot! They had great food and the service was quick. If you enjoy Hotpot, definitely give this place a try.

I love the single family sized burner tables to keep small children away from hot surfaces. I also like being able to sample two broths (spicy, mild). Our server was very family friendly and that is why I recommend bringing your family to this restaurant.
This restaurant fills up fast so I recommend arriving early or late to beat the crowd. I think we got the last parking spot in Stryker mall. There were three guys blocking my car upon departure but they moved upon request.
We came hungry and left very full.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 26, 2023Previous reviewThis is a family friendly restaurant. Toddlers can eat under the parents with the price included for the parents. Amanda helped our two kids with booster seats. For the meat, I can recommend the chicken soup, beef brisket, lamb, octopus, crab, fish tofu, fish balls, and scallops. For the vegetables, I can recommend bamboo shoots, Bok Choi, Chinese broccoli. I recommend coming hungry and leaving full. I also like the udon noodles best.
We arrived early which beat t he crowd that comes here. I noticed both bathrooms appeared to be locked so I did not have a chance to inspect the toliet area but the common sink area was very clean. I wished the stoves could be put into a child proof mode so as not to worry the parents so much as a single touch could start the stove at each seat.
Overall, a great restaurant... I look forward to returning here in the future.Nov 11, 2013Previous reviewIf you like hot pot and allusions to Japanese culture, you will love the ambiance such as the Japanese disco pop music in the background.
Advise herbal chicken and spicy soup broths. Note spicy can be hot enough to give a guest a bloody nose if one is not used to it.
All the veggies are good: Bok choy, napa cabbage, bamboo shoots, tofu.
Most meats are fine: lamb, beef, beef brisket, tripe, etc.
Fish and shrimp balls are fine.
Advise some caution on the seafood per an earlier review.
Recommend arriving between 5-6 PM because the queue of waiting customers gets really long afterwards. We were seated immediately because we arrived at 5 PM.
I recommend using a Groupon coupon if possible. - Sara K.Chicago, IL018Mar 24, 2024
I really enjoyed the AYCE selection. We were very full afterwards. The staff was also very nice and attentive. Our waiter even brought me an apron to wear because I was wearing a white sweater. We will definitely be coming back!

This is one of my favorite hot pot restaurants because of the variety of protein, veggies & noodles that they offer. What actually made this visit so great was our server Roslyn. She was very attentive (we never had to wait to put in extra orders), genuinely sweet and has a great disposition. On top of it all, they were understaffed and yet my table received amazing service. We were very pleased with our dinner tonight.

Food is awesome. They're my favorite for hotpot. I should've entered the sauce raffle! I was alone on a Sunday and seated at the single pot bar. The girl server was very nice to check on me all the time but I only needed a single serving of all my orders. It was satisfying!

Initially a 5/5 for the price, consistent service, variety of food and taste but I had a pretty bad stomachache for a few hours after, so lowering it to a 4/5. I probably just ate something bad, rip.
DINNER - 32.99
I got the SHABU SHABU BROTH soup base, which was lightly salted and flavorful. I definitely drank lots of the broth throughout because the veggies and meats only added more flavor to it. I would recommend giving all the meats, seafoods, starches and vegetables a try if possible. Our table of four tried more than half of the available items, but I'll list my recommendations:
+ PRIME RIBEYE BRISKET
+ FATTY BRISKET
+ LAMB
+ QUAIL EGGS
+ FISH TOFU
+ DUMPLINGS - super tiny, lol, like you can eat 4-5 in one bite
+ SQUID - great texture!
+ WIDE VERMECELLI - loved the chewy texture
+ WATERCRESS - we got lots of this
+ ENOKI MUSHROOM
+ NAPA
+ BOKCHOY
+ WOODEAR MUSHROOM
+ LOTUS ROOT
We also enjoyed the sauce bar greatly! I mixed some savory sesame paste with heaps of minced garlic and chopped scallions. Definitely a mild combo that went well with everything.
We had a Groupon (pay 18.00 to get 30.00 off) which saved a couple bucks per person, given that we had a party of 9. The AYCE experience is two hours long, which was more than enough for us. We all ate until we were very full and satisfied.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 64630Feb 21, 2024
I was somewhat disappointed with the food here, especially considering I'm a avid hot pot eater. While the pork belly had good flavor and quality, the pricier meat options were sliced excessively thin, almost to the point of falling apart. Despite being an all-you-can-eat establishment, I expected thicker cuts for the price. The family hotpot we ordered was tasty, but there were some issues:
-Several items we ordered never arrived, even after multiple requests to the waitress.
-When we asked for a soup refill, they simply added hot water, diluting the original flavors and colors.
Overall, the quality of the food didn't match the positive reviews. The additional charge for the pot broth felt unwarranted, as it tasted unpleasant and the meat wasn't fresh. Additionally, the food choices were limited. While the waitress was friendly, she seemed overwhelmed, resulting in slower service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.
Also on a side note - the manager kept bugging my friend about trying to get a job there. He said he remembered when she first applied but that was like.. 3 years ago when she did.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Thomas V.Frederick, MD1783162Feb 7, 2024
I was a bit disappointed in the food. First time here but a regular for this type of place. Polk belly was good flavor and good quality of meat, however, the expensive items (meat) I sliced super thin. Thinner than anywhere else. Thin like it falls apart when you pick it up thin. For the price I think a little thicker cuts. I know it is all you can eat but surprised this place got as good as reviews with the quality of the food.

Bringing the new year, we took our relatives visiting from CA and this was my first time at any hot pot. The location is in a strip mall in the left corner, plenty of parking and down the street from Marumen. As you walk in the interior decor is nice, the bar is on the left, all the complimentary sauces is on the rear of the building, and they have table seating as well as center bar seatings. The way it's set up on each table, everyone gets their own induction cooktop and the pot is inserted through the table. Per table, you are allow 3 items per category per order all you can eat but items aren't eaten you will still be charge. You have 6 variety of broths to choose from and you can also sample all 6 as you finish your first choice. The staff and our server Roselyn was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely make another visit. They also have another one in Chantilly which is their newer location and much bigger. The bar is in the center of the restaurant.

Called and they said last call was 11:15. Arrived at 10:30 (15 minutes later) and was told the kitchen was closed. Close whenever you'd like, but be consistent on that time between on the phone and in person. Way better hot pot places (like Oh My Hotpot and 9292 Shabu) only chose this place because they were open late, but they lied on the phone, lmao. Never coming back.
