I switched to Hopkinton drug for my compounded medication. Are used to order through Belmar and previous to that, MD custom RX. By far, I feel that Hopkinton drugs compounded medication works much better than the medication I got from the other compounding pharmacies. I had used Belmar to fill a compound prescription for a year. I recently switched over to Hopkinton for that same compound medication. The difference is, I actually feel like my medication is working now. I took the same thing for over a year and didn't have any results. The price at Hopkinton is way better than any other compound pharmacy I have found. I have never had a problem with expensive shipping costs either. If I remember correctly, the shipping for my medication was either free or less than five dollars.

I have always had professional and pleasant phone interactions with employees from Hopkinton. I have never had any problem filling a prescription or paying for it. If the pharmacy does not accept your insurance anymore, that doesn't mean they're a bad pharmacy. It is the consumers responsibility to be sure they go to a provider that accepts their specific insurance.

I have had no problems working with Hopkinton and I will continue to use them as my main compounding pharmacy. I appreciate everything they do for me.

Always friendly, willing to work with and explain things patients/customers. Highly recommended.
** Ignore the ignorant negative reviews about not getting things "fast enough" or pissed off because the sell Ivermectin. Just because CNN and MSNBC told you it's bad, doesn't make it true. THE SCIENCE IS OUT THERE.

I had one drug filled with this company, so impressed with their prices and customer service I decided to transfer my thyroid med's to be compounded. I had pre verified everything by phone with owner Dennis. When my doctor sent the RX I spoke with them again to make sure we were on the same page about ingredients. With thyroid everyone is different, not having a gland I have to be careful of what's added to make sure it works correctly for me in my body. When asking Dennis reason's behind him wanting to add other ingredients and backup science questions, he became very defensive and mean... I was so shocked he was treating a customer this way, he then said he's not going to fill my RX and hung up. I would not recommend bringing my business to this company. They don't care about you as a patient, only what works for themselves, sadly... :(

The pharmacy is terrible. I needed a compounded medication which they claimed they had to get an ingredient on something they'd been getting regular orders for. They call me days after I sent in for a refill to let me know of this and left a voicemail. I called them back and the pharmacist was extremely rude, not answering questions and I come to find out by multiple people that they've had the same experience. Bring your business elsewhere as they are very unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. I wouldn't even give them 1 star.

I've used the compounding services twice now for an order called in by my vet. This company just seems to be really, really disorganized.

The first time I had no problems, although in hindsight the bottle didn't say to refrigerate and turned brown in the inside of the cap (doxy compounded in a fruity syrup).

But this latest order had so many problems. This time was for doxy and baytril, again ordered by my vet. I was expecting a call saying it was ready, but 2 weeks went by before I followed-up. Turns out they need permission from me before working on it. Which is fine, but they claimed their auto system texted, called, and email me (I never got any of these notifications).

When I picked it up, each bottle was in a separate paper bag. Both bags had a REFRIGERATE sticker on, but only one bottle did (I called them and both were supposed to be refrigerated).

Both were in a bottle that has a syringe opening in the lid, so you're supposed to invert the bottle and draw the liquid into the syringe. But when I went to use it, the baytril was so thick it wouldn't flow down at all. It was about the consistency of peanut butter. We left the bottle overnight on its side and it still wouldn't flow off the bottom. The doxy was also really thick; too thick to be shaken, but at least it flowed eventually.

When I called them to say it was totally unusable, they said that's what the 100mg/ml is like. (Lacking a little common sense. Note that the previous order of doxy was also 100mg/ml and did not have this problem.) They remade it at 50mg/ml for free with an aqueous something-or-other, which did solve the thickness problem.

But then 2 weeks after I picked up the replacement, I started getting phone calls that my order was ready to be picked up.

I mentioned all this to my vet, and she said they won't use Hopkinton again. Instead they'll use Wedgewood who they've never had a problem with. By contrast, the rep at Wedgewood recommended a certain compounding while talking to my vet.

I just returned from another vet visit. Again I needed a compounded bottle, but this time they used Wedgewood. When I got home, I already had an automated email from them waiting in my inbox asking permission to work on my order and letting me pay online.

      What a difference!

Cool, little general store and Hallmark spot in quaint Hopkinton center.
This is sort of like two stores in one. The bottom level of the store is the general merchandise, medical / pharmacy, seasonal, regular section of the store, and the top level is the Hallmark, gifty, cool stuff side. Yes, the prices may be a little bit more than the new CVS across the street, but the selection is much larger on unique items and they have all the essentials.
To be completely honest, I wish more of these places existed. It is great to have places that don't just have all the same junk all the time. For instance, the card aisles here are entertaining and different.... the card aisle at CVS hasn't changed in years and still is the same. Equally entertaining, they have Hopkinton books, glasses, and clothing. They also have a large section of baby stuff for any new parents, and a large section of kids toys and outdoor stuff for the upcoming summer season. Staff seemed friendly and the store was very well stocked. Perfect stop for anything basic or anything specialty in Hopkinton Center. 4 stars.

I love to support local businesses and have supported Hopkinton drug for decades, but having had a doctor send an emergency prescription to them today (Sunday) and then finding them closed all day is worrisome and, for me, unacceptable for a pharmacy (even a few hours would help). Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. Best thing if you want to use them is make sure you only send them maintenance prescriptions, and anything important send elsewhere. I've learned my lesson.

I used to get my compounded prescriptions filled there. They worked with my prescription benefits manager and I never had a problem. Then they started charging $35 shippiing/handling for orders that should have been 100% covered by insurance. That was a problem. Then they stopped dealing with CVS (I can understand that) so I had to go elsewhere.

They must monitor Lyme forums carefully, because they carry everything a patient with Lyme disease could ever want (such as obscure treatments recommended by various alternative practitioners) but their markup is excessive - several thousand percent in some cases.

      Very disappointed!

I purchased a night cream from this pharmacy last month. I felt something wrong after applying it twice. My face became bumpy, itchy and irritated, and many tiny blisters popped up. The symptoms didn't go away after I stopped using it. When I recheck the package of the cream, I surprisingly found that the cream had been expired for 10 months! I returned the store, and found some more expired cream were still for sale! The owner confessed that the neglect happens sometimes, but he also blamed my carelessness of buying something expired. His aggressively asking me "what is your goal today" really hurt me. I was a victim, not making money from a feign injury.

We have just moved to Hopkinton this summer. I heard that the hillers (Hopkinton residents) used to be very supportive to this local pharmacy and even protested the new CVS store entering in the town on 2016. But now, only the seniors shop there, and they may shop only because of the old attachment. My experience just tells that the store is dying.

I love the convenience of having this all purpose gifty drug store in town for decades! They have expanded over the years and are a hallmark store now too! Great little store for high schoolers needing first job too! They have jewelry and TY so last minute birthday gifts are easy to get.

However, their drug store is SO unfriendly! Surprising because everyone going in for prescriptions usually buys other things so this is the draw for a store like this. They are also very non-responsive. Not greeting promptly. Requiring hours to fill a prescription is rediculous! There are negative signs all over the pharmacy...like..."We require a 24 hour notice on all refills." They should look at their competion and realize that CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. do not do this. They also do not check their fax/VM enough for Dr. Call in's. I have been in before where the doctor sent something in the day before and it was noon and they had still not "received" it. But then retrieved it. I am done with that pharmacy.
