I have been going to this pain management clinic for almost 10 years. I first injured my back at 18 years old and at 19 had surgery. Since the first day of my injury I have been in pain. Some days good, some bad, some almost unbearable. I've seen dozens of doctors over the last 20 years and this place is one of the best. The staff is always helpful and Dr. Wang is not the type of doctor to just write a prescription and cash his check.
I was just reading some reviews and I noticed Peter J's review and all I can say is... you sir are a rude, crude, asshat. First off to attack Kelsie and to say she is cold is not just inaccurate but just plain stupid. What people need to remember is 1) this is still a business still and needs to run like one, no one patient is more important than the other. 2) the doctors, nurses and yes even the receptionists are all human... meaning, they make mistakes (like we all do) they have bad days (who doesn't) and they all deserve the type of treatment that we would like to get ourselves. 3) these people are in a profession where there job is to help, but they still need to keep an eye out for the drug seeking addicts... never mind the amount of liability they constantly deal with.
Now back to Peter J.... youre on here taking about Kelsie's looks and her eyebrows like that has any bearing on the level of service/care you receive. I wonder, do you compliment your plumber on his belt? If so, when he leaves with your pipes unclogged but forgets to bow at your feet do you get upset and post rants on his yelp page too? Or are you just an old pervy man who is bitter and wants to send attacks from behind his keyboard to a young lady (who btw is literally the NICEST P.A./Dr I have ever met, plus to say she is easy on the eyes is an understatement). Your talking about her appearance and making fun of her eyelashes, yet your own toe nails look like that of a vulture... If I had to guess, I'm thinking the story you told how you took all of your meds in half the amount of time the doctor prescribed you goes right back to what I was saying about how they have to deal with so many drug seeking addicts. But back to their business, I would refer friends and family to go here and I will continue to only see Dr. Wang for any of my pain management needs.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Amber K.Ewa Beach, HI63231Jan 24, 2024
Today was my first treatment procedure with
Dr Wang. He and his medical team provided me with the best care. He made me feel comfortable and walked me step by step on what he was doing. He made me feel safe and also made me feel that what I was going through was valid. I am so glad Kaiser referred me to him to take care of my specialty medical situation. Mahalo for taking care of me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Floria I.Kaneohe, HI02Apr 17, 2024
Very unprofessional and they treat you but only if you keep doing procedures!
Found a place and treatment to really cure my condition and it is painless!
Dr Tada failed miserablyHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jo A.Urban Honolulu, HI02Mar 7, 2024
Dr. Wang told me that he could not help my pain! Even though it was chronic and seemed to meet their criteria
also how unprofessional is it of them Not to validate parking! Instead they suggest you go to another business in Restuarant row which is very unprofessional and unnecessary IMOHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lola I.Kaneohe, HI0101Feb 3, 2024
What is happening with Honolulu Pain Management Clinic in Honolulu? Are they permanently closed like their Aiea office? I called many times and various days, It just shows "Call Failed". Usually they answer pretty quickly, but this is such a sudden closure, if that is the issue. No one from the office called us patients, This is pretty bad and upsetting that we were not notified!

I've been seeing Dr. Wang since January, also his PA/RN? Ashley in between visits, and they are absolutely awesome and so informative. For over 20 years I've dealt with chronic pain which was being managed by my rheumatologist but she referred me to pain management this year and it's been an easy transition. I'm now about to start a new promising treatment which should get me off pain medication which has been a goal of mine for years as I dislike having to take so many medications every day. Dr. Wang and Ashley have also taught me a lot about other things medically not always related to my conditions and I really appreciate all they have done for me over this year. They are both very compassionate and have a wonderful bedside manner. I highly recommend Honolulu Pain Management; my only complaint would be the parking/location at restaurant row it's a confusing setup for me, but I found out they have another location in Aiea and I go there now and it's been smooth sailing, just a little longer drive. Good luck to anyone out there seeking treatment for their chronic pain!

I started seeing Dr Tada in March of 2021 for a chronic pain condition I've had since 2017. Everyone in my support group who has had Dr Tada as their pain management doc has had nothing but rave reviews for him, which convinced me to switch to his care. There is no cure but treatment can help. But even treatments generally have low efficacy for this condition and require a combination of several different modalities to give fractions of relief.
Dr Tada is very well versed in these various modalities and his tenacity, for finding a working solution, knows no end. He initially reviewed my current medications and discussed my full history before suggesting next steps. And the next steps continued diligently for several months.
I got signed up for effective PT... something all previous doctors failed to offer, including UCSF, as wonderful as they are. Sure, others recommended PT in the past but Dr Tada suggested water therapy with a focus to getting me back to walking. He wasn't just trying to relieve my pain... he was trying to give me my life back.
Fast forward eight months, a condition that has robbed me of 80% of my limb usage, is now over 75% relieved for my lower limbs and within a month should be 75% for my upper limbs as well. I went with a spinal cord stimulator despite my previous fears. Several support groups had reported roughly 50/50 success and I wasn't willing to risk surgery for that. But Dr Tada was convinced I could walk again in a couple years and the results are proving that to be totally viable.
He and Dr. Loos spoke to me as often as I wanted to and discussed all my concerns; including the ones I asked multiple times for extra comfort LOL! They discussed the advances that the devices have made recently, that set it above and beyond previous SCSs with lower efficacy rates. I was flooded with amazing knowledge and most of all, light at the end of a very long and painful tunnel.
Here's what makes this office so fantastic...
~the staff are all so friendly and helpful whether over the phone or in person
~I have never personally witnessed nor experienced a negative interaction in this office
~I've never been asked so many questions about my history... and I loved it. What I noticed in some reviews is a disdain for the questions. But I legitimately see the benefit of each one. Pain is subjective; meaning, he can't look at an X-ray or MRI and tell you the pain you're in. That has to come from the patient. And because one person's 6/10 may be different than another person's 6/10, all the answers help paint a picture for the doctors so they can treat the person, not the number. This is how we conquer chronic pain. Their office captures each of those answers and help track the progress throughout your treatment. This goes soooooo far in disability cases, which is a real possibility in this arena. So therefore, I absolutely respect the questions.
~insurance and billing management has been simple and issue free with this office! I can't say that's been the case with office visits elsewhere (perhaps this is attributed to their super thorough questions and evaluations)
~they have two locations; the one in Pearl City is super convenient from west side
~although it took a bit to get my initial appointment set up, all follow ups have been easy to schedule, even last minute on occasions
~at this point I see the nurse Tiffany more often but it's always very clear that I can set an appointment with Dr Tada if I prefer; a flexibility that's so rare it seems (at least in my experience).
I highly recommend this office to all pain warriors!!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Eric A.Honolulu, HI21212Sep 28, 2022
A family member who is 80 years old has been going to Dr.Wang for years without any problems. The problem started with his aprn Tiffany Hooks. She doesn't know how to handle complex cases nor does she have any compassion for patients. She doesn't even have much experience working as an APRN or provider and it truly shows. She adjusted my family members' medications when he was on a perfect regimen from Dr.Wang for over 30 years. Tiffany Hook instead sent him in to full withdrawals and wouldn't even help with that. She lacks experience in basic nursing/aprn provider needs. Bases her clinical judgment of results that are old or not correct. She won't even listen to other specialty providers such as cardiology on recommendations because ,She said "she knows best." Doesn't answer her calls in urgent situations. She truly lacks any experience oKnowing a patient is suffering and withdrawals were occurring she discharged my family member and left him out in the cold. Imagine leaving someone suffering and not even have a heart or understanding. That is Tiffany Hooks. As a medical provider she lacks the empathy of looking as a patient as a human being and only cares for her and he ego/power trip. I work in the medical field as well and would never treat a patient like this. The culture of treating each patient as if they were your own family member doesn't exist to Tiffany. The Honolulu Pain management was a very good place until her. Tiffany Hooks ruined the clinic and I wouldn't recommend anyone to see her. Try to get another care provider instead of her at the Honolulu pain clinic. My family member is dying a very slow and painful life full of suffering because of Tiffany Hooks. Tiffany should not be a provider to the people in Hawaii and the clinic would be better off without her. The other providers there such as kelsi understand the local culture here and compassion treating patients.

I'm a patient of Dr. Troy Tada. I know he's a physician, but seems more like a magician. All of the procedures he has provided me were so very effective I hardly have words to describe them.
He carefully explains what he is going to do, what he is doing and what he has done both before, during and after the procedure. He is thorough both before, during and after the pain management procedure. Having seen him for several years now, I could not ask for better results.
Dr. Tada is prompt and competent. I've never had better treatment from a provider for lower back pain. He also communicates most excellently with my primary care provider.
He seems to think, as best I know, outside of the box. I've never, ever dealt with a physician who is more prompt or has a better bedside manner.
I would recommend him to my best friends (which is how I found him) and to friends alike.
If you have serious back pain, go to Honolulu Pain Management and ask for Dr. Troy Tada. You simply can't do better in Honolulu.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Raymond G.Gilbert, AZ03313Aug 14, 2022
Great service and pain management. I see them once a year for my back injections and every three months for my Rx muscle relaxant. Injections are pain free using an X-ray machine.
