Food lacks luster, service was okay, and ambiance was nonexistent. Would I eat here again? No..

Worst Chinese food we have ever had. The hot and sour soup was a dark brown concoction that was horrible tasting. The pork and seeds was literally sliced canned ham and a side of ketchup.

The interior was nice and clean but the food not worth the price.

Well, the place is enormous and seems to be laid out a bit odd

Very disappointed!! The food is okay, my family has eaten there before in person. Ordered food to go. To start the online ordering was down so I had to call in. I prefer online to calling in because better chance order is right. When I went to pick up food, the order was wrong and when I told pointed this out only response I got is that it is already paid for. No apologies or offer to try and make right. And yes, I did have lady on phone read order back to me. Somehow between reading correct order back and putting my order in something was switched. I also ended up paying more because of this mess up. Won't be going back

Seeded pork, orange chicken, pork fried rice, finger steaks, salad. I was in Nampa to visit family, I saw Hong Kong restaurant and the memories returned of family dinners at the large tables with large lazy susan to distribute the food to patrons of the table. First of all the person who took our order for delivery was extremely rude. We did not get a name but she was an older Caucasian woman.
The food was just ok.

Read the reviews and we were not sure what to expect but we wanted Chinese and it was open so off we went. Wow are we pleased we did! Hong Kong Restaurant is big clean and cool. The serving staff were fast and attentive. The food was awesome and plentiful. We shared a Ricksha D.
Wow! The salad which I wasn't even sure I'd like was amazing. Rice appetizers Broccoli beef full of flavor and color. They didn't overcook and things weren't greasy (often a danger at Chinese restaurants). Things were fresh and fantastic. Go there - even if it isn't the only restaurant. It's worth it. Not sure what happened with some of the one star reviews but they are a five star now.

My husband and I are visiting Nampa and he found Hong Kong Restaurant and decided to take me there on Mother's Day because I am from HK.

I give it an OK because the service was good, the interior was comfy and clean. The food was "meh".

First of all, I think the restaurant name is definitely misleading because most of the dishes on the menu is American Chinese, I would say maybe a couple of the dishes are Hong Kong.

We ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Chow Fun with beef and Mongolian Chicken.
The Hot and Soup was the worst I've had - the flavor was fine but it was nothing like a hot and sour soup - nobody uses beef broth as the base and put beef in hot and sour soup!!!

The Mongolian Chicken was tasty - my husband liked it. I can't tell if it was authentic because we don't have Mongolian Chicken in Hong Kong and I have never ordered it.

The Beef Chow Fun was bland. The noodle (fun) was al dente - which is a big NO NO in a chow fun dish. Both chicken and beef dishes were greasy.

I asked the wait staff for some chili paste because my chow fun was so bland. They charged me $0.89 for the paste! I can't believe they charge you for that, even though it's not much.

I was happily surprised to see a Hong Kong restaurant in Nampa but I was very disappointed and I think they should change their name to something else, nothing Hong Kong at all.

Food was okay at best. Tastes like someone who doesn't have training in Chinese food made it. The menu is extensive but very disorganized. The lunch specials are very limited and you can only pick two items on their lunch special list. All of the meat dishes on the list are sweet, no option to have something savory. And it costs extra to substitute something and you can't do a double order of an item, it has to be different items. Lots of rules to follow with their menu and it's not organized in a cohesive way so it's hard to understand.

The cooks do not make Cantonese Food.
The egg foo young was made like hamburger patties with no flavor
I think the have the recipes but no knowledge of how to prepare.

Been a few years so I was willing to give this shithole another try , the only thing that's changed is the pricing of their garbage food, worst 50$ I've ever spent at a restaurant, I'm amazed that people actually keep this place going. If you want to try the worlds shittiest Chinese food at a ridiculous price then you've come to the right place
