This restaurant/store is an absolute GEM in Bay Ridge. The food is surprising - you would find this quality more in Manhattan than in a neighborhood like this. Consistently fresh, perfectly cooked and so many flavors. The chef is really a step above and a SUPER friendly person. Refers to you by name and maintains an amazing attention to detail.
Brunch faves are the chicken empanadas and the french toast. They also have a delicious muffin/bread basket - and you get that when you order takeout, too !!!! - with orange marmalade and perfectly room temp butter.
The store offers an eclectic mix of carefully curated candles, jewelry, etc. The proprietor who works at the front cashier is wonderful! Friendly, funny, warm and welcoming.
When you visit, you feel as though you are standing in their 'HOM' (pun intended :) ) and that's a rare throwback quality in retail/food service that I wish was more common.
Thank you both for an outstanding business!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 131131515Jan 18, 2024
A quirky, intimate, and lively space in bay ridge that is a true hidden gem! Is it a handcraft and apparel store? Is it a cafe with Latin themed food? Is it fun? Yes to all the above!

We visit this place at least once a month the menu changes and it's always delicious and fresh.
We decided to booked HOM for our baby shower, and I must say, the food surpassed all expectations. The quality was exceptional, and the staff's attentiveness made the experience truly outstanding. Every detail was taken care of, ensuring a memorable celebration.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2023
A really cute place where the front half of the store is a shop that has products that include candles, accessories and other things. The back half is a cute brunch place with the kitchen. They also have outdooring seating further in the back.
FYI: Cash or Venmo Only!
When seated they will provide you water and a basket of complimentary everything bagel with butter and slices of loaf cake. That's a plus! The staff were really friendly and kept checking up on us. The chef even came by to ask if the food was good!
We ordered the Cinnamon Churro Waffles on the 'Our Homade Brunch Specials' Menu ($19.95), which was topped with whipped cream, chopped pineapples and dulce de leche sauce. Also served with your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage (whis is what we got). Also ordered the Mushroom & Swiss Burger on the 'Our Homade Brunch' menu ($18.95) that came with a side salad. The burger was huge so it was great for sharing and we asked for medium well, and it was perfect! Had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Laurent P.Manhattan, NY051Nov 21, 2023
BEST OF THE BEST !
With no expectations, we walked through the clothing and antique store to get to the restaurant in the back.
I felt like I was having brunch in a friend's house with her mom cooking for us in the back. So much attention from the staff. The food is so delicious and made with love. The bread is warm, the coffee freshly made. The cranberry pancakes and the Santa Fe benedicts hmmm... can't wait too go back to try more on the menu. Best brunch I had in years! And a brunch a lot !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 8, 2022Updated review
I haven't been here in 3 years although it remains as one of the top places to have brunch in Bay Ridge.
Damien the chef is always welcoming his guests and continues to come up with fresh ideas in the dishes he offers. It's good to see he loves what he does. If you've never been here it's interesting as HOM is a restaurant and an eclectic gift shop rolled into one.
The place is always clean, cozy, has a very attentive staff and most of all the food is extremely fresh. Everything is cooked from scratch. They offer about a dozen regular brunch choices, 3 home made specials, a good selection of teas, coffees, wines, marguerites, and beer.
We had the great pumpkin pancakes which were served with whipped cream, and granola. We also had the grilled chicken wafflewhich that is made with spicy chicken, mixed greens, tomato, zesty siracha, a medley of fresh fruit and turkey bacon . Every was AWESOME and the portions are shareable.
Very enjoyable experience and relaxing. I would highly recommend HOM.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Jan 1, 2019Previous reviewThis another restaurant I've been coming to for years and finally decided to write a review on. It has a very interesting concept as when you walk in you wonder if you had the right place. At first you would think it's a chic retail space with one of a kind gifts, costume jewelry and home design products. As you get about 20 feet into the store you realize it is also a restaurant.
The seating is comfortable and intimate, even during the day there is an intimate feel to it. The restaurant can seat about 20 people although the kitchen is small and it can take awhile to get your food when they are busy.
What I like about them is that the food is consistent, the chef Damien brings some unique flavors to his cooking and he tries to change up the menu. I think they are famous for their green eggs and ham although I've never had it. I loved the Egg Nog French Toast and had a side order of egg whites that were light and fluffy and were the best tasting egg whites I've eaten.
Everything was very good from the food to the service. There is a very personal feel to the service and the staff is very friendly. Damien the chef is always coming out to greet and mingle with customers and I observed him apologizing when there was a delay which was great to see.
They offer complimentary breads with butter and marmalade whole your waiting for your food. They serve sangria although they are a little pricey on their sangria in my opinion. They also have wine, and other mixed drinks where the prices are more in line with what I expect.
I would recommend them for breakfast or brunch especially if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. Diners today are expensive and do not usually offer the quality of most restaurants so this is a good value. In my opinion their service or food has never disappointed which says a lot for a restaurant. - Linda D.Brooklyn, NY042Feb 26, 2024
My husband and I took good friends from Connecticut there last week for brunch. We all loved it. The service was beyond excellent, and the food was fabulous. We will definitely be going back very soon. I just feel bad that I've been living in Bay Ridge for almost 10 years and never knew about this place.

My favorite spot for brunch. Every month is a different menu and the chef always comes up with great ideas. The ambiance and decor are unique and I simply just love it here. Employees are always friendly and personable and make you feel like you're at home (see what I did there) ;)
