Steven Smiles (what a name) recently helped me with some repairs around my home. He was professional, charming, patient and thorough.
I love how quiet it is here and Gunther and Jayme (sic) are wonderful faces to meet and greet at the front.

Steven is the maintenance manager, and he has come and fixed several things in our apartment quickly and in a very friendly manner. He is great! Very easy to coordinate with and took extra time to teach me a thing or two about how the appliance worked. 10/10!

The pools are always clean, the pool furniture is comfortable and beautiful. The gym is well equipped and alway clean. There is always someone on staff cleaning the grounds. The staff at the leasing office are always kind and helpful. If anything ever breaks or even if a light bulb or alarm battery is out the maintenance staff fixes it right away. I'm very happy living here and highly recommend Highlands of Marin.

If I ever have any household maintenance needs they are taken care of the day of my request or the very next day. Even if it's a burned out light bulb. Special thanks go out to Steve the maintenance manager for always making sure everything is in working order in my home.

The employees are great. They are all nice, considerate, and prompt.

Luxury apartments? Not quite. Interiors are nice but there is so much crime and disrepair to the property, the only people getting value for their money are the copious number of chapter 8 participants.
Highlands does nothing about the problems here but tells you to write a email to UDR. After that UDR does nothing. They don't even reply to your email.
Paid parking garages are not secure. UDR does nothing. We have ran off catalytic converter thieves, thieves casing cars, thieves trying to break into cars.
UDR does nothing about all the special needs tenants they moved in. So enjoy paying 4500 plus for a unit and have your peace disturbed constantly by people with mental health issue, drug issues etc.
Don't plan on using the pools as they are constantly out of service. No upkeep is done on any area besides the leasing office. Entries have never been cleaned of cobwebs, broken stair lights, garbage area overflows, and much more left in disrepair.
Don't plan on parking near your apartment as highlands does nothing to enforce parking so it's a constant shit show. Guest parking has been full for over a year by the same vehicles so enjoy your friends visiting.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 1Business owner information

Now, There is a resident here that has a guest that has had the police out multiple times the last few weeks. We just caught this "guest" trying to get into cars in the parking garage. Police say their hands are tied and we need to address the management lol. Highlands management needs to get their shit together and get all people that are not on leases out of here. Stop people parking here that are not residents or paying for parking. They need to fix the lights in the facility. Stop all the illegal dumping.
Do not rent here. 4k for what? Unsafe property. Broken down property. No security. No maintenance. Electrical rooms doors left open to constantly slam in the wind. Garbage scattered everywhere. Highlands ranch is not a luxury apartment. It's a slum with a fine veneer around the leasing office.
On site office staff is nice but can't really effect change. Please highlands ranch.... Clean up this mess! If you are looking for a spot to rent, do your homework.
Oh and we have emailed the management per the on site office people advice and haven't heard a peep back. That's how much UDR cares.Mar 5, 2023Previous reviewThis place is a joke. Underground garage floods as there is no maintenance on the grounds. Fire riser doors and maintenance rooms are left unlocked and open (doors flap on the wind and homeless love in them. Thieves steal catalytic converters as there is no security patrol even though highlands says there is (on the rare instance there is the guard just drives thru the complex). Wife and I ran off 3 CAT thieves early Sunday morning. Only grounds that are maintained are around the leasing office. People come and dump in the garbage area who don't live here. Parking is a nightmare as you have to buy your spots but so many cars do not and highlands doesn't enforce it. So if you have guests over, guest parking is full of "residents" vehicles. For what you pay here this place should be luxury but it's falling apart, not well maintained and having a nice staff in the leasing office doesn't make up for all the glaring problems.

Steven has been amazing recently! Replacing light bulbs that were out, fixing my disposal that wasn't working, and fixing my toilet when it was running and wasting water. He's always very quick, effective, and friendly! I'm glad he's a part of the team that makes Highlands of Marin run smoothly.

UPDATE/RESPONSE: You can claim whatever you want and make as many excuses as you want. Facts are facts. 60 daus later and you have NOT returned my money. You've had my correct mailing address from first contact and application. You are at fault for not refunding me, not me. Own your mistakes!
DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. I applied at the Highlands of Marin And put down the $400 holding deposit and the application fee. Within 5 minutes I was rejected from being able to move in and promised to return my holding deposit within 2 weeks. I have had multiple email communications and phone calls with them and have received nothing but a belligerent attitude. . it is now 60 days since I applied. And they have not refunded my money. We are saddened to hear you have been dissatisfied with your leasing experience. According to our records, you applied on 11/25/23 and were denied on 11/28/23. Per the online leasing agreement, If you or any co-applicant is disapproved, we will refund all application deposits within thirty (30) days of such disapproval. Refund checks may be made payable to all co-applicants and mailed to one applicant. Your check was issued out on 12/12/23 and was returned to our corporate office as unable to forward. Our team re-sent out the check on 1/9/24 to the updated address you provided, and it can take up to 15 postal days. We encourage you to contact our billing team if you do not receive your check after the above mentioned timeframe. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your feedback. I moved into my apartment at Highland of Marin on Halloween
2018. I love it here under the Oak Tree
I'm 83 Years Young. On my way to 93
The Staff is amazingly helpful.
My very favorite is the Maintenance Manager. Steven! In the last 5 years he has helped me with a positive attitude,
Good at knowing exactly what needs to be done, and explaining to me how to maintain it.
He Manages 2 other Men for easy things like fixing the arm in the freezer, changing lightbulbs, installing
Batteries! & installing new stove burners.
But other things like rebuilding my patio screen door, installing new pest control inside that actually works.
As well as another small things like fixing a dripping faucet, depending on how much work is necessary for the great team.
PLUS he is a kind person if I have messed something up.
I recommend you keep him for a very long time here at Highlands of Marin
