Did not complete a simple job. Prepaid to have wind damaged roof repair, because I was going out of town. Never contacted me to set-up a time for the work to be done. Upon return, only one part of the project was completed. When my wife called to check on status, got a text backed that stated, "look up", instead of the work was completed. They did not give us the report of the roof inspection, the extra shingles they did not use, nor did they caulk some nail heads, all agreed upon before payment was made.
Waiting for the agreed upon work to be completed!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Catherine G.Lutherville-Timonium, MD031Aug 10, 2023
Chris at High Point Remodeling is the best when it comes to quality of work and design. He listened to the dreams I had for my new kitchen and came up with ideas I had not thought of. The finish kitchen turned out more beautiful than I could have imagine. Thank you High Point

We had a very expensive roof job and a separate interior job contracted with Highpoint Remodeling. In brief, the house roof was fine and, at the time, we thought the shed roof was fine too. We paid the owner and the crew off and thought all was well. Next act, the interior crew shows up to cover a few skylights and replace skylight shades and it all went down the drain. What should have been a 3 day job turned into a 3 week job taking out the skylights. There was damage done in the process, including literally days of cleaning the mess and broken furniture. Not only did Chris, the owner, not apologize, he agreed to a reduced final payment then retaliated by not filing our roof warranties, one of which we paid extra for! He also claimed later that we owed him money, which the judge didn't agree with. Then we saw the starter strip on the shed was left off (hard to see from the ground) and we asked him to fix it under his warranty, he refused, saying we owed him money. Again, no apology for an inadequate final walk through on his part. When we complained to MHIC, we found out our warranties weren't filed and are still waiting 5 years later-- for a $26,000 job! We have been through 2 MHIC hearings where the judge found Chris deceitful but they said we must go to court for the warranties. In the hearings, Chris called us names and said we live in a "shanty" which couldn't be farther from the truth. He accused us of vandalizing our own property, totally ludicrous stuff. All in all, if the job turns out well, probably all good, but if his crew screws up, you're on your own, so beware. Go behind and check everything! He will lie and deny any wrong doing. He showed his true colors and it was not pretty.

Did a great job on my roof. Gave me a great estimate and then completed a fantastic job. My wife and I couldn't be happier we went with High Point Remodeling.

High Point Remodeling did two jobs for me that were related: they put a new roof on my house (in one day!) and extended my front porch to the end of the house (about 14') and enclosed of it. My husband and I met Chris at the MD Home Show, and were impressed with his ability to look at our home with a satellite and give us a price for a new roof (which turned out to be an excellent value, when we got other bids to compare). The roof work went perfectly. The porch enclosure is fantastic! My whole house works better with an entryway and coat closet instead of just walking into the living room. The work was beautifully done, integrates into the outside facade, and even my neighbors love it. Chris suggested making the enclosed area a bit bigger than I'd been planning on, and I'm SO glad we did, and he suggested using a heated floor, which we love. They even recreated the millwork from our former front door to make the outside look as nice as the inside. We couldn't be happier with our new entryway!
The workmanship is really beautiful--we are SO HAPPY. Also, we've had a LOT of work done on this home and the last one, and know that jobs DON'T always go perfectly--and what really matters is how well a company communicates and how well they address issues if they do come up. For example, Chris had a pallet of brick delivered that didn't match the outside of our house--but could not have been more gracious about taking those back and letting us find bricks we liked better. Even as the bricks were being put up, I noticed one spot where the pattern didn't work (the bricks lined up straight instead of offset) and pointed it out to the guys. I was really stunned later to find that they had taken out 3 rows of bricks and fixed it! He and his guys were always nice, polite, and great to work with. And, Chris even let me hire the brick guys directly to do some steps for my backyard art studio, which was very kind of him.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
