Place was great and the sides are a big portion for a small. I got the burger and it was delicious. Definitely will come back with another craving. Would recommend ordering ahead of time if you are taking to-go.

Stumbled across this place in a short layover at SFO. It's in millbrae across from airport - 5 minute Uber. Anyone ends up here, you got to check it out!  Fried chicken sandos and burgers off the charts!

The hidden spot is a hidden gem within downtown South City. It's the perfect for a quick but filling meal and is great if you're looking for a casual place to dine.

The hottie totties were really good. The tater tots were crispy and warm and the mayo and sriracha added a great flavor. The Ruby could have used more buffalo sauce but it was still great! The mild spiciness was not enough for me so I will be getting a the hotter sauce next time. The Empire was definitely a spicy sandwich from the habanero. The chicken was good and the Dutch crunch was crunchy.

There's also a bar and pool table and plenty of seating as a smaller location. I've been here a couple times and it's never too crowded or empty.

You know, this place is located at one of the most randomest spots in South San Francisco. A burger place inside a bar?? Who would of thought. You would actually miss it if you didn't look through the door and it will literally say Hidden Spot.

When you get your table, you will go up to one of the waiters to take your order. We ended up getting 3 burgers, 2 wings, and an order of tater tots. We first got the Lemon Pepper Wings (10/10) so good. Some of the lemoniest wings I have tasted so far and the wings were delicious and tender. The second wings were the honey garlic butter wings (8.5/10). I'm not particularly a sweets person when it comes to something savory for fried wings, but I thought overall flavor was good! My friends loved this one. And the tater tots tasted like good tater tots which I appreciated.

For the main showstoppers, we order 3 burgers: The Sherriff, The BM, and The Medic. I ended up getting the Sherriff and it was good! Lemme just say that the burger is wildly big. With a 1/2 pound of beef wagyu, cheese, beer battered wings, and grilled onions, I thought this was a hell of a good burger and I loved it. The BM is like a banh mi burger and the medic is a burger with mushrooms added on top as well.

I'd definitely come back again. Who would of thought South SF had a place like this still.

Random as heck spot, but on point with their American food! Mostly sandwiches and other American food is served here. This is not a sit down kind of place if you're going to the grand Ave location in SSF. It's located inside a local dive bar, so I'm not sure if you can bring yours kids inside! Not sure, so call them before going if you would like to know for sure. But don't let this deter you and your family from enjoying the food made at this location. Once you walk in, head straight to the back. Don't be offended if the bar tender ignores you haha they just know you're not there for the adult drinks and that's ok!

As for the food...very large portions and the food is good and tasty! I would say it is reasonable to share a sandwich with one other person unless you are very very very hungry! They have a secret sauce that is delicious, but if you're like my siblings and don't like salty/sweet kinda sauces, skip the sauce. Otherwise, personally I think it's what gives the sandwiches its unique flavor! I had the tuna sandwich on Dutch crunch. It was positively good, like 10 steps up from being just a basic tuna sandwich. The fries are some of the best I've had! I know it's weird to say that because it's just fries, but personally I hate wasting calories on undercooked or overcooked in old oil kinda fries! And this was not that at all! So anyway, give them a try if you live in the area or if you are passing by town like I was! I grew up in this area and it was nice to see some of the restaurants coming up in this place. And Hidden spot is one to add to your list. The staff were really nice too!

I was a bit skeptical about a $20 sandwich, but wow it was delicious. I ordered Strength, which is the only vegetarian sandwich. It comes with artichoke, mushrooms and then I added lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The sandwich is big enough to fill 2 people. The mystery sauce was delicious but also made the sandwich a bit soggy.
Highly recommend this "hidden spot" to others

Wow! What a find! Friends have been talking about this place but never got around to trying it. Came her with my big sister and she went fried food crazy! I really wanted to try the MVP due to the comparison to san tung. Sis came before and had the tater tots and karage burger so she wanted me to try that too. Unfortunately our family is fried food crazy so she ordered onion rings and french fries too! Way too much food for the two of us but big sister always orders too much for the baby to take home. Thanks sis!

The Hidden Spot is a tiny bar and the "hidden spot" is the kitchen. We came for lunch and it was not divey and the woman who took our order was nice. Honestly I didn't look around too much but there were a couple of people at the bar having drinks. Here's the reason for the 5 stars:

MVP wings 5/5: As I said, I wanted to come here for the burgers but saw the review for the wings. MVP was truly the MVP. It tasted similar to san tung's in sf without the wait or the lines. I will definitely be making this my wing stop place to get wings (no pun intended). The wings were crisp and the flavors spot on. Just a little bit of heat without killing your mouth. The combination of sweet and spicy and crunch make it worth it! Not as crunchy at home in the air fryer so eat them all there.

Tater tots 5/5: They're just tater tots what's to say? They were crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the inside. Good solid tot and decent portion. Should have ordered the small!

Onion rings 5/5: Reminded me of jack in the box but better hahahahah. Great batter and the onions stay in the ring (you onion ring fans know what i'm talking about)! Just a tad bit salty with the sweet onion so yum!

Chicken kaarage burger 5/5: The burger was huge! Honesty we had so much other food I just took a bite. What amazes me about this place is how every fried thing is crunchy! Not soggy or oily! The kaarage was crunchy but the chicken was not dry. There's some kind of sauce on the burger that gives it a spicy kick what was too much for me so look out!

Fries 5/5: Nice crunch again and seasoning reminded me of 5 guys. Nice color on the fries too.

Great place to get your bar food and watch a game. I'm not sure what it's like in the evenings but lunch was great! Can't wait to go back again!

I decided to give this place another try because I wanted to know if my last experience was just an "off" day.

      It was not.

I brought my brother, and he wanted to give it 2 stars.

Here's the thing: the environment is chill and the guy who does both the cashier and bar seemed hip, it's just that the food isn't up to par.

We both had the POW Waygu burger. Such a dissapointment with the meat not being seasoned and juts tasting, like, well, cooked plain burger meat. I think this is what dog's taste when they have ground beef with their kibble. The bacon was not crispy and just was a chewy mess. I just wasted $20 on a burger that I didn't like with a soggy untoasted brioche bun.

My brother ate his burger and said we could have saved money by going to ANY other burger place instead.

So that was $40 down the drain for 2 burgers, but waut it gets worse! $8 and $7 for the small fries and small onion rings. Again with crappy frozen freezer fries with no flavor and frozen crappy onion rings. Waste of around $16 and again lukewarm.

This place keeps on dissapointing, and now I know it's not just me because my brother isn't a picky eater, and yet he disliked this place.

This is the last time I'm giving Hidden Spot the benefit of a doubt. Bland burgers, lukewarm fries and onion rings with no flavor for around $70 with tax!

We were craving burgers for date night and ended up at Hidden Spot. We didn't realize it was in a bar, so the vibes were an unexpected surprise. We went on a weeknight, and it seemed like the pool table was crowded with folks from a work event, while the bar was filled with people watching a sports game. Luckily, they have a strip of tables reserved for those who are there just to eat.

We ordered fries to start, and they were incredibly fresh, which gave us high hopes for the burgers. Overall, we enjoyed the burgers. We split the classic and the hero. I enjoyed the classic more; hero tasted like the classic burger, just with sriracha. Overall, we had a good time at Hidden Spot.

The pow: Juicy and delicious. Just the right amount of mayo blending in with the juices from the burger. Nothing else to say other than a really good burger. Cooked medium(should've read menu) but still super juicy. Portion size was huge and I'm all for it!

Hottie totties: They were okay, sriracha mayo definitely sounded better than how it tastes on top of them tots.

On a side note, wall of "adapt" pictures were pretty cool. Some millennial nostalgia.

      Hidden indeed.

This place has been on my list for years and while I have passed through and dined at some of the more popular spots on this side of the city many times before, I never noticed its existence until I intentionally searched it.

This review is for the chicken sando - Sidekick.
If you're like me who has low tolerance to spice, then this is for you.

The chicken thighs were fried crispy then tossed in housemade MVP (sweet spicy soy) glaze. I liked the sweet and salty combo. It was not spicy at all so it worked for me. The bread is brioche bun which is soft and buttery as it should. The lettuce and tomato was a nice touch for balance, but a tarty slaw would've worked too to cut the sweetness from the glaze.

Overall, it was a nice introduction to Hidden Spot. I would love to come back and dine in to try other sandos (because they have a lot on the menu).
