I wouldn't even really give this place one star... my boyfriend took his truck into the Ford dealership that this hertz is located next to, his rental was suppose to be FREE of charge. He was told by Charles that if he paid $20's they would fill the tank up in his rental that was at a little under half a tank and he could bring the truck back on empty. So he paid the $20 and they brought us the rental, they never filled the tank up! Well after he went back and dropped off the rental he checked his bank account only to find out he was in fact charged $118's for this free rental. He has called back and went up and spoke to them and they said their manager would get back to him. Well needless to say the manager has yet to get back to him, and has been playing "phone tag" since Tuesday! I would stay away from this place, definitely makes me NEVER want to rent a car from hertz.

For those of you who read my reviews you know that customer service is one of the most important items that I look for when I go somewhere. I'm even willing to pay a little bit more to get quality customer service.
Today I went to this car rental establishment while my car is in the shop and I had the distinct privilege and I have to use the word privilege to work with Chris, Jonathan, and Ruben.
The three of them maintained the utmost professionalism and outstanding customer center service. To begin with Chris asked a lot of open ended questions to determine what was best for my needs and a rental car. Jonathan and Ruben added their thoughts which were very helpful. The three of them maintained the customer centered approach through the entire visit.

The manager of this store does not care one iota about his customers, and I absolutely will never rent with Hertz again.
We tried to return our car last Friday, but the office staff - including the store manager - left early. I even called ahead to let them know we may be cutting it close to 6 because of traffic, and was told "someone will be here until about 6:15." We got there at 5:55, but the lights were off and the doors were locked. I gave the keys to the front desk at the neighboring body shop, who said he would verify that I was there before closing, yet the employees were not.
Because Hertz employees wanted to take an early weekend despite knowing a customer was en route, my card was then charged $100 every day for the remainder of my vacation - and was charged AGAIN this morning, three days after I returned the car. I didn't even have money to buy FOOD on my own vacation, and my account is now overdrawn nearly $200, because Hertz employees couldn't be bothered to stay until closing time, and are unavailable on weekends. I had FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS held from my account while on vacation, when the car rental should have been in the neighborhood of $75.
I have made calls to the national office and the individual branch only to be received with attitude and non-apologies, including from the very manager who left early and created this entire ordeal. He tried to blame the situation on me - and lied in the process, while making excuses for why he wanted to cut out of his job early without any concern for his customers. Virtually no one has taken responsibility for Hertz's employees egregious errors, and I have had to beg for an apology from anyone for this atrocious inconvenience that cost me half a thousand dollars while on vacation. The store manager's reply to my request for a full refund was "there's nothing I can do."
As an update, I was FINALLY was awarded a full refund after contacting Hertz national via email, social media, phone, and through yelp. It does not change my opinion of this disorganized company - particularly because I think a full refund is the least Hertz can do for this atrocious error - and I will not ever rent with Hertz again. They leave early and unapologetically and repeatedly charge you as if you're a thief. They have little concern for the interest of their customers, as evidenced by a "we're closed on the weekends but we still charge you hundreds of dollars" policy, and are bold in their blatant attitude of disrespect and non-concern for issues they cause their own customers.Horrible, horrible, awful company.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike W.Jacksonville, FL17162Jan 1, 2018
Never hated a Car Rental more than I do do right now. I want to get a lawyer and sue this company. It's terrible that there are people who will take advantage of storm victims, but we see it all the time. That night was bad enough when the trees came crashing down. But the days that came after was adding insult to injury. Hertz played their cruel part by dealing with us so harshly that I will no longer use them in the future. Nor will I indorse them in any way. They were harsh and cruel every step of the way. I can not believe that State Farm Insurance endorses and recommends Hertz. There must be so kind of kick back that State Farm is getting because Hertz Truly is crooked and corrupt treating their customers wrongfully and causing more harm than good. I've googled them and I'm not alone. It's sinful how they treat their customers. I stand behind this evaluation 100%. Actually this evaluation could and should be longer and more to be said about Hertz Bad Business Practices. I'm complaining to the Florida States Attorney Generals Office as well. My wish is Hertz gets what they deserve.

Possibly the worst possible car rental experience of my life! Received a piece of junk car, list my reservation and the small bald man at the counter has the worst customer service on the planet. Rent elsewhere!

This Hertz Rental location provided the WORST experience ever with a Hertz Rental agency. We needed a rental because our car was in the body shop. The auto insurance was supposed to pay for the rental and we were told that the rental would be FREE. However, they needed our credit card for "gas" charges if we didn't bring it back with the same amount of fuel. But guess what? They scammed us by charging us $703.68 for "insurance" on the car. My husband has been renting from Hertz for over 30 years and would NEVER opt for the extra insurance because our auto insurance is sufficient. When we complained to Hertz Corporate they quickly refunded half of the money and told us that we had to contact the Area Manager for the rest of the money. They would NOT tell us his name...they just kept telling us that he would call. He hasn't called and we can't get a hold of him. That manager gets a commission on the insurance!! SCAM! DO NOT USE this Hertz Rental office!!!

This place was the most friendly car rental place I've ever been too. David was the guy I dealt with, his demeanor was polite courteous and personable. Awesome service!

The Lexus dealer down the street offered me a rental car while my car was in the shop so gentleman from hertz arrived at the dealer to pick me up. The minute i got in the car the cigarette smell was overwhelming so much that I had to roll the window down for fresh air. I was thinking this was a shuttle vehicle and not a car customers would drive. However, to my surprise they told me this is your car. I told the associate I cannot drive that car with the cigarette smoke smell so he agreed to get another one. Well you wouldn't guess, they wrote up my rental agreement and took me outside to inspect the car for damages before I leave. As I started walking around the car I began to think that it was a joke as the car was dirty inside with cigarette burns from floor to headliner in addition every panel of the exterior had scratches and numerous dents... and he wanted me make a list of damages to the car!!! Long story short I ended up at another rental car company down the street that had a decent car and customer service.
