I lived here my freshman year and it was a great experience. Because it's so far away, no upperclassmen try to live here, so it will be packed full of freshman. A lot of the time you're forced by the people you're eating with to eat at Hedrick, which can be quite horrible. For me, I definitely tried to only make one trip from campus to Summit a day so that way my legs don't die. Definitely invest in a scooter or skateboard to save time.

I resided here for the 2007-2008 academic year and loved it! Granted, I probably had one of the nicest views from the building (Room 925K - See Images). It's the farthest residence hall, which means an especially long walk to class and a million stairs to climb along the way. The floors are coed and throughout the year, you have a bunch of opportunities to develop close friendships with everyone. There are 3 different room types: singles, doubles, and triples. The singles are setup as 10 person suites, which is what I had. 5 girls to a bathroom and 10 to a private lounge area. It works out pretty well. Each floor also has two study study lounges, which are roomy and comfortable. There is one laundry room for the whole building and it gets insanely crowded on the weekends (so do your laundry in the middle of the week). There are no places to eat in the building itself (besides a small room on the first floor with a vending machine). The dining hall is in the building next door, Hedrick Hall. There are resident advisers on duty 24/7 so if you have a problem you can page them or the front desk. It's an expensive place to reside, but if you take advantage of what it has to offer, it'll be worth your while.

Well not sure how the living conditions are here since I never lived here as a student, nor did I want to since its was so damn far from campus (top of the hill). However as ucla staff working nearby, the food is alot better and more diverse than what I had a student. Sushi on Thursday? Thats just crazy. And if your staff its only cost 4 bucks, awesome...

It's all right. More in line with what you'd expect of a college dining hall. View's interesting, especially on late evenings with the sky falling from light to dark blue. Quality makes it the lesser of the hill's dining halls. But ya know, it gets the job done.

i guess we're reviewing dorms now. i didn't exactly live in hedrick summit, but i lived to the projects next to it: hedrick hall. i had a couple-o-friends who lived in summit's overpriced, cramped, place of a dorm. my friends lived in a triple so you had the bunk bed and the loft; 3 desks; an armoire; closet space; and a shared bathroom with your neighbors (two suites share one bathroom). the bathrooms were pretty gross, even for the premium you pay for privacy. not so luxurious, my friend. the res halls have cleaner bathrooms.
the common areas were pretty small but i did like their laundry facilities since all you needed was your bruincard. i remember hating to wait for laundry in hedrick that i'd cart my clothes all the way to summit just so i can use the laundry facilities and avoid the sign-up list for my floor.
if you ask me, i'd say, go with the res halls. much cheaper and about the same space. i think you get an extra five feet of walkway if you choose to live in a suite. not that great, if you ask me.
oh, how much i miss the dorm life. you were carefree as a first year and life was just amazing because of those made-to-order omelets. now, i live off-campus, have no meal plan, and figuring out how the hell to sneak into the dining halls.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
