Ordered a lei greeting as a gift through Hawaii Discount, and was contracted to Fly Shuttle & Tours.

HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE.

Greeter was around 45 MINUTES LATE after the recipients got off their plane. They sat in an empty baggage claim, watching the other passengers receive their leis from better companies, and even watching their pilots finally leave the terminal, with no greeter in sight.

Their greeter told them they were "5 minutes away" for at least 30 minutes.

WHAT AN AWFUL START TO A TRIP. Completely ruined their first experience in Hawaii.

Why bother asking for flight info if you are NOWHERE NEAR THE AIRPORT WHEN THEY LAND, AND THEY MUST CALL YOU SEVERAL TIMES TO GET YOU TO EVEN SHOW UP?

I wish I could give a lower rating for how they BOTCHED this gift experience.

I was looking for a last minute lei greeting for my daughter & granddaughter. I must have called 20 different companies that either didn't provide lei greetings or were already booked. Not only was HawaiiDiscounts.com able to arrange the airport greeting but the phone agent was very friendly & helpful. They were also the least expensive & couldn't provide upgraded lei options at the last moment, but the leis the girls received were nice and my granddaughter was so excited. The greeter stayed in contact starting within minutes of the plane landing. He even took photos for them. I was pleased with the service.

Well first of all I want to warn you all that what you see and what is being advertised IS NOT what you will get! I was so disappointed on the service and presentation of the leis! I never expected to be greeted with 2 Leis being pulled out of a dirty grocery bag...nor for the leis to be damaged (missing petals and having bruised and folded petals)! When I placed my order I specifically stated that one was for a child and I was told it would be sized accordingly...FALSE! It was not...definitely will never EVER use them! I will also not recommend them to ANYONE...

The quality of the flowers were horrible, the greeting was NOT worth the money! Do yourselves a favor and get this service somewhere else!

I've only used Hawaii Discount to book a 25% discounted kayak rental. They were the only ones providing that discount.

Their website is very old, but the booking went reasonably fast, and when I called the kayak company, they confirmed that the reservation had been made.

Prompt telephone pickups. Friendly staff. Reservation changes handled easily. Weather caused cancellation was handled doubly.

I booked a luau with Hawaii Discount prior to our family traveling to the Big Island. 4 days prior to our arrival, I noticed that our confirmation had the wrong date listed on it so I called and spoke with a person by the name of Ashton who said she would contact Royal Kona Luau to get that switched over to the correct date and I would receive confirmation shortly. The day of the luau our family was excited to go and got all dressed up and when I went to pull my tickets, I realized I had not gotten a new confirmation. I immediately called Hawaii Discount and spoke with a rep that I failed to get their name and they placed me on hold while they listened to the call that was recorded. She came back on the line to confirm that I indeed called in and spoke with Ashton who failed to make the changes. I then asked to speak with a Supervisor and was transferred to Colby. She also confirmed that they dropped the ball and when she tried to call the Royal Kona, they unfortunately were already sold out and it was our last night in Kona. I was so disappointed as was our family. A luau is a staple item you need to do in Hawaii and for Hawaii Discount to mess that up, not apologize or do anything to fix the situation besides refund me which was clearly an obvious thing to do. I would NOT recommend using them to book anything. I have been to a luau before however our family had not and it took away from something we were excited to do. Ashton should be trained on how to follow up and Colby trained on how to handle guest situations because they both dropped the ball. Only positive for the company are the calls being recorded.

RJ is awesome!!! He's so knowledgeable and super helpful. The prices for the products are more reasonble and there is way more variety of products to chose from... So thankful my brother and friends recommended this place! Definitely coming back!!! Yay!

Ordered the lei greeting at the Kona airport. One of our connecting flights has mechanical issues and we were stuck in the tarmac for 2.5 hours. Needless to say we missed our connecting flight and almost didn't make it Hawaii! We arrived 7 hours later and through the battle I didn't let them know our flight changed. Their own policy states they will deliver them to your hotel if this happens. I contacted them the next morning and they demanded a additional $15 for this? That's not in their contract. I tried for several days to resolve this but they continued to demand an additional $15. Sigh... Now the credit card company gets to deal with them. Don't waste your money on them. They do not care about happy customers.



Per the cancellation policy we are not able to refund for any leis missed due to missed flights or arrivals on different flights where we were not updated on new flight information. The lei greeters made every attempt to greet the party and did greet others on the flight listed.

I do apologize but at this time we are unable to offer any refunds.

There are no refunds on lei greetings for flights that you are not on, but we will make every effort to make sure you receive the leis on another flight or to your hotel as long as you call us with the new flight info.

We rented a car from HawaiiDiscount over the phone for pick-up on the Big Island (I didn't have confidence in their website order-form). I was apprehensive after reading mixed reviews online, but everything went smoothly with no surprises and we saved about $100.

They charge you part of the rental price upfront, and the car rental company (Alamo) charges you the rest. Their website clearly states this and the customer service representative told me this as well.

After that went well, we decided to rent from them again on the next leg of our trip in Kauai. Everything went smoothly again and we saved another $100.

I think these guys are just a "last mile" reseller of Alamo cars. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Hawaii Discount helped me save so much money with car rental on Kona during Christmas. Every online car rental companies wanted to charge me $150+ a day for car rental but HD got the same car for me for $77 a day. The process was so easy, you book the car rental with the agent on the phone, you pay for their portion during the call, then they'll send you an email voucher confirming your rental, then all you need to do during picking up the car is to pay the taxes/fees. The car pick up process was super easy at Kona and they even let me pick up the car 3 hours earlier with a free upgrade.

We also booked our snorkeling tours with HD and we saved 5-10% average. Their customer service is fantastic and will definitely use them again for future visits in Hawaii!
