Came here with my partner at 9pm on a Friday night for their salsa class. Keep in mind, we both have zero dance experience and two left feet (for a total of four left feet). I almost bailed on the experience because I felt so nervous and awkward beforehand, but once we got into the venue the ambiance and my partner convinced me to stay.
They have salsa lessons every Friday and Saturday night from 9-10pm for $12 per person. The lessons are upstairs in a dance studio-like venue, with hardwood floors and a hardwood raised stage. The lessons were quite good, especially for someone who has no idea what salsa entails. The instructor walked us through several basic dance moves at a slow enough pace that even someone as kinesthetically-challenge as me was having a good time and able to understand the moves. At 10pm they turn the club into a dance floor with salsa music and dim lights. A lot of people show up for the 10pm club so it was pretty packed. It was a great chance for us to practice our moves, and I even saw the instructors dancing with some of the audience members. Overall it is a great experience for those who want to learn some basic salsa.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sai M.Fremont, CA551995Jul 19, 2023
Ultimate best place in town for Salsa and Bachata social dancing experience!
Before the party ignites, there offer fantastic and fun-filled classes suited for both beginners and advanced dancers with talented instructors.
You'll find the most friendly staff and welcoming people here, eager to share their passion for dance and make new friends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Plane Crashes B.SoMa, San Francisco, CA051Nov 14, 2023
I've just started working the door at the Havana Club in Cambridge on Sunday and Tuesday nights (those are 18+ nights, no alcohol) but I'm a longtime fan of the club and I want to get word out to more people. Nobody asked me to write this. Havana is a Bachata/Salsa dance club that also gives lessons in these dances. The patrons I meet are always very nice and it's a really down-to-earth, fun environment - great for meeting friendly people who are open to meeting others, in a safe and welcoming environment. And the dancing is just as cool to watch as it is to take part. I've worked in regular dance clubs, both in Boston and Las Vegas, and while they can be really popular, the Havana is a very different experience - I've never felt inclined to recommend any of the other clubs I've worked at. Anyway, if you or anyone you know might be interested, come see for yourself. Havana has a lot going for it. Incidentally, the other doorman (and p/t manager), Chris, is a super nice guy who's popular with all the regulars. Ditto that for the owner Jeff. Everybody treats everybody well. See you at the Havana! Adrian.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Reggie W.Brockton, MA1332155950Mar 11, 2023
Havana Club is a VIBEEEEEEEEEE.
Every Friday and Saturday night they have a live introduction into salsa and bachata tutorial from 9 to 10pm. I went on a Friday night around 9:30pm and by the time I settled in I didn't catch much of tutorial so I can't speak to it much, but it seemed a legit. A few people I talked to mentioned how the instructor that night was moving quickly.
What I like about this spot is it's very welcoming. A lot of beginners and intermediate level dancers and very diverse with regards to ethnic backgrounds.
Entry fee is $15-cash only, but they do have an ATM literally right next to the admissions host stand. Coat is complimentary, they have one bar and a cooler for free agua.
There's a parking garage next literally right next door, but was closed by the time I got there around 9ish.
My only critique is that the venue could use some remodeling. It just feels old and stale and not reflective of the rest of the experience you will likely have.
I have very little experience with bachata so what I like about this vibe here is mostly everyone is open to dancing and there's little to no judgement.
If you're a man and you come by yourself most women will dance with you if you ask, and lots of women will ask you to dance. It's just a very friendly vibe.
If you're on date, this is a great spot!Helpful 14Thanks 2Love this 6Oh no 0 - James T.Stoneham, MA02Nov 22, 2023

The ambiance at Havana Club was great. We arrived around 12am, too late for the lessons but there was still a good mix of all levels of dancers on the floor. This was a great date night for us but singles could definitely get out there to meet people in a different way. Coat check provided great service and they did not skimp on the drinks! Def recommend for anyone looking to step out of the no

Went to Havana club for the Friday Salsa and Bachata classes. The venue is very classy with string lights, wooden floor and disco lights. They required vaccination cards and ID for 21+ once we got in no masks were required. The instructor was very welcoming to beginners and there was also an intermediate class. It was great energy and the instructor encouraged we switch partners every few rounds. I will come back to dance. As someone who doesn't really like how loud nightclubs can get, I felt this was perfect

Came to Havana on a date, and I really didn't know what to expect. Salsa dancing he suggested...and I thought, great...this is going to be embarrassing and end with me lubricated in alcohol.
In actuality, it was lovely, and I didn't feel the need to curb the embarrassment with alcohol (although there was none - just hydrating water).
We arrived a bit late, and the group was warming up together and going over a few moves. Then couples formed a circle around the instructor while he reviewed dance steps. Then we rotated around to try the steps with different partners (Which I, personally LOVED). There were several more experienced dancers who helped to guide my inadequacy and quell my nervousness, and it was really fun to meet new people. At the end, there's free dancing, and it's gorgeous to watch couples (who know what they're doing) twist, twirl, and move to the music. Several gentlemen asked if I wanted to dance before I returned to my partner, and I have to say, I know they were just being friendly, but was an extreme ego boost.
My date and I had a great time, and it was a unique experience for only $10!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Vadim S.Seattle, WA302236Jan 28, 2019
Havana Club is my favorite Latin dance club in Boston. I love Bachata Mondays and Salsa+Bachata Saturdays (they are also opened on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays!) It's a club that's hard to find anywhere else. I've been dancing for several years now and the community at Havana is amazing. Havana club is a nice place whether you are on a date or just feel like dancing and meeting new people. You'll be loved here.

I came here Saturday night for their salsa lessons with my boyfriend. We arrived a few minutes to 9. It was an ice box inside. We went straight to the bar and got drinks. I forget the name of the drink I had but it was really good. If I had more time, I would have tried another of their signature drinks. It was suppose to start at 9, but we didn't get started until close to 9:30. Any other night I wouldn't have cared, but I had dinner reservations for 10:45. Anyways, the class was very beginner friendly. The instructor stood on the stage with his partner and demonstrated moves, while we followed along. The music could have been more modernized, but that's okay. It was fun and I'm happy I found it. I wish I could stayed longer for the dance party after and practice my moves that I learned, but I'll definitely be back.
