I called to ask for information as I was interested in joining and they didn't help at all and I asked if I could tour the facility and he said yes and then I confirm that I can go anytime and he confirms. I then go in Saturday morning, and still not helpful. It was the most awkward experience, I go in and this whole group of men working out just stop as if I was interrupting their session, and then the guy comes over and I let him know I would like more information and he talks fast and I don't understand what he's saying, doesn't offer for me to tour the facility or anything. The atmosphere in there was so uncomfortable and not welcoming at all. They could've had an easy sale, but oh well.

Best gym in Houston bar none!! It's an old-school no-frills gym, and best of all they have heavy bags for kickboxing/boxing training.

After looking and trying other gyms, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Hank's is one of my favorite gyms to workout in. The facilities are clean and the staff is always friendly and ready to help.
My main criteria for a gym is equipment availability and this gym delivers. Even at peak hours there are plenty of benches, squat racks, barbells, etc. to get your workout done without asking to share...this is a big selling point for me.
After trying other major chain gyms, and seeing how crowded they can be, Hank's gym is a true gem. A fitness enthusiast's dream.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul N.Houston, TX016Jun 18, 2021
Clean, complete, basic. Great staff and varied clientele. Genuinely look forward to it every day that I go.

Just joined and I love it! No waiting for machines or free weights even during peak hours. Free weights are rusty but who cares. Met the owner and some regulars and everyone was very nice. This place is just down the street so I'm so glad I switched from 24 hour fitness although they are a little pricier. Worth it for the shorter drive and the ability to be able to get in/get it faster.

$68/mo for a gym less well equipped than most high school gyms? Na.

What can I say about Hank's? I've been to so many different gyms (lifetime, LA fitness, equinox) non of them give me the feeling I get when I walk through those doors. Everyone is so friendly and they know you by your name and always have a warm welcome. They have the best equipment to workout with! You will never see an equipment NOT being used at Hanks. This basically tells you that you're in that gym to workout and get results! Thank you so much for being an amazing gym I call home! So proud of Kenneth Sr (the owner) who brings a positive energy to Hanks. Personally thank you Kenneth Jr. for being a great/professional Trainner at all times. Love my results!

Plzzzzzz tell me why no policies are in place for people wearing SHIRTS here?!?!? The other day, I was working out with several women in skimpy tank tops and men in muscle shirts. Yuck. With the public health scare, why are these folks not asked to wear shirts???! And why do I have clean up THEIR sweat?!?!? WAKEY WAKEY Hanks!

I'm visiting from out of town and these 5 star reviews are accurate. Hank's was clean, the staff and patrons are friendly. Even at peak time, I was able to get on the squat racks and benches. I'd definitely come back!
