I always have an amazing time when I go to Mary's. The performers are outstanding.
Our server Sarah was amazing! She is attentive, fast and very friendly. She handles the totally obnoxious bridal parties with ease.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eric L.Springfield, VA0181Oct 9, 2023
My group of three attended the "Sunday Brunch" (which now uses a full lunch/dinner menu), and we were quite satisfied with what we got.
The burgers include non-beef options (chicken or Beyond Burger), and my Chicken & Waffles was prepared just right and tasted very good. The soft drinks are a bit expensive but are infinitely refillable, so my party was not dissatisfied with the drinks either. The portions are quite large (as is typical of American restaurants), and I was unable to finish my meal or the fries on my partner's plate.
We arrived a bit early for the 12:30pm show, so our party was among the first to be served, and we were very satisfied with the attentiveness and friendliness of our hostess/server.
There are a number of large TV screens mounted on the walls of the dining room which played episodes of "I Love Lucy" during our meal. They also played during the drag show, which I found a bit distracting.
Speaking of the drag show, it was entertaining and high energy, but it was my first time attending a show of this type, so I cannot reasonably compare it to other shows.
There were a few very small nits to pick, such as the french fries being breaded, so they cooled off very quickly and didn't take salt well. The breaking on the chicken was also very thick, making it difficult to cut even with a serrated knife.
But on the whole, I can give Hamburger Mary's a very pleased thumbs up for the food, service, and atmosphere!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dena P.Orange Park, FL01Mar 29, 2024

First time visiting and I had a blast! I absolutely loved the queens, staff and environment. We came for the 8pm show and had so much fun. They put on such an amazing show and the crowd was really into it! What I love most is that this is such a welcoming and safe space for everyone.
I had a watermelon-tini and it's was *chefs kiss*. Only negative was I ordered a side of French fries to snack on and it came out in the smallest little holder. I think it was maybe 11 French fries and it was $6 bucks so that was a bummer but besides that everything was wonderful and I definitely will be back!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 30, 2023
Cannot wait to come back! Such. A. Fun. Place.
* Great vibes
* interesting, delicious bites to eat
* Easy to book seats online
* had a great time choosing which drink to have (funny names)
* a great collection of songs that the drag queens & Judas dance to/performed to
* hilarious halftime - My stomach was hurting laughing watching the people celebrating events have a Twerk competition!!!!
Only suggestion I have for management is to get more up-to-date seating.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - James S.Ladson, SC132241Jan 5, 2024
If you know Hamburger Mary's then depending on the show-cast, you will have fun. Just prepare to pay a little extra in food and if you don't tip? Then I wouldn't sit near where they perform.

Finally made it here afee tree r many years of debating to give the show a chance- I arrived around 6:30 for our 7pm show?
I came with a large group for a friend's birthday celebration.
We were seated right away with a reservation, our waitress did not come by for a good 15 minutes, I was thirsty but couldn't get our order in.
My friend tried to order at the bar but the bartender refused to serve her, we finally got our orders in, food came out pretty fast but my drink took forever, I also asked for a water that took a while to arrived too. I was definitely thirsty because the fries were salty and the the medium cooked Spicy burger was well-done and fried. I also had the Mary sized up Sangria which tasted like a fruit punch with plenty of ice and almost no alcohol. At least it tasted ok?
Was it entertaining? Yes, the ladies and gents were very talented and put on a fantastic show!!! But the music was way too loud and the smoke dried out my eyes.
I would recommend it if you like to have fun and let loose! Maybe once in a while!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 1 - May 26, 2022
This was my first visit to Hamburger Mary's and my girlfriends second visit. Her first visit was pre pandemic, so we were sure what to make of all the Yelp reviews saying service was awful post pandemic.
I'm thankful to report that slow service was NOT an issue during our visit. We went on a Wednesday for Drag Wueen Bingo so the place was only about half full due to it being a Wednesday. However, there was only one bartender and one server, so we wondered about wait times.
Every one at every table was ordering food and a large amount of drinks, us included. Everything came very fast. Both the bar tender and server were busting their butts to get everything out. Not only that, but the server never gave anyone any attitude or acting like we were a birder. He just took orders, got the food or drink and ran it back.
To be honest, this is some of the best service we've had in the area since I moved here! The food itself is average, but you're there more for the environment and drinks anyway, in my opinion. They offer a great variety of mixed drinks and beer, so we ordered a few different mixed drinks. Everything we had tasted great, so no complaints there.
I would definitely recommend you stop in for any of their events. I wasn't expecting much from a Wednesday night but we had a blast. What a fun night.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Esteban U.Beaches, Jacksonville Beach, FL02Sep 17, 2023Updated review
This place stiffed me on a $2000 bill. Ostracized me and left me for dead hoping I would never return. Now they won't answer emails which is customary. 0 attention to the guest experience.
Come here to support the marginalized queer entertainment, but fuel up on food and drink before entering.
Bring a flashlight for the dim environment as you will struggle to remain oriented in this charmless hole in the wall.
Service is non existent. I've experienced racism as a customer and as an employee. 3 managers who use the n-word. I kept quiet, I tried internal resolution. They are a black hole.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 14, 2023Previous reviewAfter 3 years of managing this business, my recommendation is to focus on the quality of the guest experience. The venue is shabby and outdated. The inconsistency of talent and food makes it difficult to be loyal to the Hamburger Mary's brand.
The Motes and Shepherd's could be a heavy hitter in the Florida nightlife scene... but need to learn to capitalize on their strengths and weed out their weakness. As Jacksonville's largest queerest oddity, they are failing to capitalize on what makes their brand so intriguing.
The environment was disorienting, frigid, and hostile. I felt marginalized and ostracized. I often felt threatened and hazed.
I believe in forgiveness, but accountability and responsibility must be accepted. I will not be returning until this place can put their money where there mouth is. Let the magic commence! - Oct 24, 2022
I had an amazing time. I went on Saturday for my bachelorette party. I had 7 friends with me and we sat right by the stage.
We only ordered drinks, no food so I can not speak to food.
The performers were great. There was amazing energy, crowd interaction, and songs. My group had a variety of music tastes and enjoyed the vibe. The server was great and everyone was having a good time.
The ambiance was smoky and the music was loud. One note would be to turn the music down a notch. Not much because I get that the music needs to be loud but it was a loud. The smoke could have been because of Halloween but I am unsure if it is normal.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 7, 2022
For my 1st Yelp event in Jacksonville, this was great. Met some nice people, the food was good but the highlight of the experience was the entertainment!
5 star performers! If the was a such thing as 10 star reviews, I'd rate it that high. Definitely will be going back to try other menu items and the show, fo sho!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
