About the Business
Hagen's is clubhouse dining with a panoramic view of our Donald Ross Course. The restaurant is named for legendary golfer Walter Hagen who won the 1924 PGA Championship at the course. The menu features soups and salads to steaks and seafood. Guests can also sit at the expansive bar where gangster Al Capone was believed to have carved a message. Just don't sit in the wrong seat!

Typical clubhouse experience. TVs at every angle and wide open hosting space. You have to walk through the golf pro shop to access. The outdoor Jews of the course are wonderful on a pretty evening. We brought a large group (10+) and felt pretty well cared for by the servers. The restaurant was empty though. I was surprised by the large variety on the menu. It's most of a sandwich and drinks menu than fine dining. Our party had burgers, quesadillas, and even ribs. All in all the food was fine, among the better places locally, but pretty average outside to the local scene. If we go back to the area, will definitely dine here again.

Come in here dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far.
have a drink! Or enjoy some food. Get some snacks on the turn. Or heck enjoy a cigar on the porch with a drink and a view. This is just what we needed after a busy morning.
The golf course looked great, will have to play next time in town, but the bar was nice and the people were chill.
Didn't do much but chill on the porch and enjoy a cigar and drink. They have a pretty good selection of both.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 27, 2021
My family and I ate here on our last afternoon in French Lick. Located on a beautiful golf course, we wanted to see for ourself, even though none of us have a slight interest in golf, haha.
They had a golf shop to go through before you entered the restaurant. We were seated immediately and the service was great. The waiter even accommodated my cold blooded mother and switched the fan off by standing on a chair.
The menu was pretty limited with not a ton of options but a nice range of sandwiches, salads, and soups at a very reasonable price
A few of us ordered the soup of the day which was some kind of bisque. It was served luke warm so it wasn't the best but it would have been delicious if it was hot. The potential was there. I ordered a bbq pulled pork sandwich that was excellent.
It was a rainy afternoon so we didn't get to take in the nice golf course view but it was a nice lunch nonetheless.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer B.Mishawaka, IN142621530Aug 3, 2022
When you want to relax and watch others swing among the swallows, the porch at Hagen's clubhouse is a nice spot to go. We didn't stop here to eat, but my husband came here early in the morning to play around of golf. We decided to come back in the afternoon to have a beverage in the heat of the day.
There's an there's a nice bar and restaurant inside, but the patio outside for me is where it was at.... As we sat under the fans and enjoyed our beverages, the swallow birds flew in and around the patio and just outside chasing each other and the bugs. You can sit here and look out onto much of the course as it's in an elevated spot.
For those of you that enjoy a cigar, you can purchase one inside the golf shop which is also located on the premise.. There's a wide variety of clothing and golfing items as well as a few cigars to choose from.
The bar is fully loaded and can provide you with whatever your libation preference is. It's fairly pricey here which I guess is to be expected since it's a golf course. I'm only giving it 3 stars because it's nothing spectacular as some places I've seen, but it's still very nice and if you're in this area and you enjoy this kind of thing, it's worth checking out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Claire G.Chatham, IL04Sep 3, 2023
We loved this place! Relaxed atmosphere and great service. Ribs are outstanding, and the warm brownie is amazing!

The food was quite good, except that they served my rack of ribs lukewarm. The waitress apologized, and seemingly indicated that this was not the first rack of ribs that she had been given lukewarm that evening to serve. What's going on with that?? we like Hagens and will be back.

My brother dad and I were on a short golf trip in French lick and decided to check out this local restaurant.
We were happily greeted by our waitress and taken care of very nicely! She was upbeat and attentive throughout the evening and had great suggestions for food choices.
I got the salmon sandwich, my brother got the pulled pork, and my dad got the burger. All three of us agreed that this was a great dinner. The aoli on the salmon was top notch and we all got the cheddar bacon fries on the side!
I would highly recommend this as the place to go in French lick and the surrounding area!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael Q.IN, IN01Jan 10, 2023

We came here for my grandma's 90th birthday. I wasn't really expecting much from a golf club restaurant in French Lick, but I was impressed.
We had a huge party and the service was outstanding. We brought our own cake and they cut it for us and brought out ice cream to go with it too.
We started with an appetizer of the fried fresh mozzarella. It was quite good.
For entrees, we got the BBQ gouda burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were really good. The burger was cooked really well. We got bacon cheese fries and chips as our sides. Both were good.
If you're in French Lick, I'd recommend checking this place out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Meredith A.Lakeview, Chicago, IL271208Jun 14, 2020
My fiancé and I are staying at the West Baden Hotel for our first trip since things have started opening back up during COVID***. We decided to call Hagen's to book a reservation for their 6:30 Saturday night seating. My fiancé ordered the fish and chips, I ordered the ribeye. Both of us were extremely happy with what we got and we both had a couple great cocktails during dinner.
On Sunday we returned to the clubhouse to play a ground of golf. After we finished up on the course we went in to grab a bite to eat. I went for the wedge salad with chicken and my fiancé got the burger. Both meals again were fantastic and I had an awesome Honey Mule to drink, so we ended up 2 for 2 during our stay.
The reason I've decided to leave a review is because we had Alicia as our server both days. The setting of Hagen's and the food are reason enough to go there to eat, but Alicia was fantastic. She was incredibly friendly, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend going to Hagen's for lunch and/or dinner, and I hope whoever visits has the pleasure of having Alicia as your server. My fiancé and I look forward to coming back again someday!
*** If you are at all concerned about COVID and precautions being taken, rest assured that all employees at the clubhouse seem to be diligent about wearing masks, they request that only one person enters the bathroom at a time, employees seem to be regularly cleaning and there's hand sanitizer everywhere. They do also check your temperature before allowing you to dine or golf!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
