Q:
Are they open for take out during this SIP?
A:
They just opened. The hours are 8:30-3 Wednesday through Sunday and additional hours on Friday from 4-6 for pick-up dinners. They have take-out and a few tables out front!

What's the deal with the Gypsy Friday Nights? Is this like the gourmet night in Fawlty Towers? :) Suitable for kids? Any info appreciated, as I don't like talking on the phone if I can avoid it (dirty things telephones).
A:
Love the Fawlty Towers ref! It's an evening of SUPER good food (not on their usual menu) and usually live music. I'd definitely take kids who are old enough to kinda maintain in a restaurant setting, you know?

Love trying different spots for breakfast when I come into town.
My husband ordered the chicken and waffles with an orange juice. I had the huevos rancheros with a side of coffee. Below are our thoughts.
Chicken and waffles - it was good, not the best we have had. The waffles was airy on the inside and crisp on the outside, just the was we like it. It came it a spicy sauce which neither one of us cared for.
Huevos rancheros - this was really good! I added the chorizo, which was a great flavor combo with the dish itself. The sauce was so good! I would definitely recommend this dish here.
Coffee - in my personal opinion, not good, even for a diner style coffee. I'd probably order the OJ next time because I couldn't even finish the coffee.
Orange juice - this was so juice! It seemed freshly squeezed juice and it wasn't overly sweet. We would definitely order this again.
Overall, this was a cute breakfast spot for us in downtown. The decorations match the name and they have little details to bring it all together. Definitely recommend as a place to have breakfast.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 21148239Jul 27, 2022
Gypsy Cafe deserves five stars based on four key factors:
1. a deliciously artsy ambience
2. efficient and friendly service
3. Sustainability sourced great food
4. reasonable prices
As a big fan of creative ambience, this place is great! The menu is simple, yet their flexible combination offerings meet most anyone's desires. There's even a not-too-dominant bar inside serving cocktails, mocktails, wine, and beer.
I had the Asian salad topped with salmon instead of chicken and it was excellent. My friend had the chilaquiles, served with green sauce with bottles of hot sauce on the side for those who prefer spicy
Two gender-neutral bathrooms speak to the owner's social values and continue the gypsy-artsy themes found throughout this hidden gem.

Absolutely spectacular!!!! We loved everything we ordered. The lemonade was so yummy and the Heirloom Veggie Bowl was perfection with a creamy sauce I could mainline!!!
The side of cole slaw was amazing too.
Such a cute cafe with gorgeous artwork.
Definitely coming back when we're in the area again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2022Updated review

Sebastopol is in no shortage of hangout spots and great food, but even there the Gypsy Cafe stands out as on of our favourite spots for a casual outing.
Excellent food, coffee and service. The Chilaquiles are amazing. And the staff is amazing. Grab a seat outside, people-watch and enjoy a nice quality meal. Can't go wrong with their menu.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 5, 2021
This is a small but charming diner. I ordered the chicken salad. The chicken was grilled and quite tasty. The salad had lots of cucumbers. It was made up with lettuce, cabbage, almonds, ginger and fried wontons. My mother ordered the French toast. She liked it a lot but thought it was too sweet.
Our waiter was very friendly and prompt in getting us seated.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 8, 2020
Based on one COVID visits.
We rate this a "sure. Go for it."
Where do they get such great tomatoes in November?
I had the burger. Very nicely done. The veggie Benedict is ok. The hollandaise tastes a bit like mayonnaise. The side salad is a mix of some ok-veggies.
In short, the food is presented well ... it looks good on the plate and the staff presents well. For us, the food design is just ok. Not terrible at all! But not write home about.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Victoria B.Windsor, CA366643Jul 18, 2021

Great place! The service is wonderful. The food is excellent. It was challenging to figure out what to order because everything on the menu sounded delicious then they tell you the specials, and now you're just more confused because you want to try it all!
We finally settled on:
Gypsy Combo with 2 eggs, potato cake, French toast and a choice between bacon or sausage. (What's a potato cake? Is their version of hash browns.) We ordered this because of the potato cake and the French toast. Great combo.
Fried Chicken Sandwich (no bun) with Cream of Tomato soup. Wow! The chicken was moist and fried to perfection. When you don't have the bun, you appreciate everything else served with it. The little slice of heirloom tomato on the side was heavenly! Sweet and flavorful. The homemade coleslaw was really good. I usually don't pay attention to it, but this time I ate the whole serving. And the pickles as well. Can't say enough good things about this plate.
When in Sebastopol, stop here! The cocktails and dinner menu also look promising. One more thing... everything is made from scratch and locally sourced.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
