This is exactly the type of place I love to discover. Neighborhood gem, no frills., affordable.

Cuban sandwich- excellent, fresh bread, tasty pork, huge portion.Bread got a bit greasy when pressed. I dabbed a lot off the sandwich with napkins. Sandwich should be pressed with no oil.
Hot tamales- I was today years old when I learned of Mississippi Delta/New Orleans tamales. Previously, I was only familiar with Mexican tamales. They were tasty.

Observed people eating the Daily Special- spaghetti and meatballs. The portion was massive on a platter. They cleaned their plates!
There was a steady line of customers getting food to go.

They sold prepackaged slices of king cake. I Liked being able to try different bakers versions by buying slices. The recipes are all so different.
Also picked up a packaged lemon hand pie. Felt nostalgic from my childhood.

Friendly, courteous staff. They kept dining area bussed and clean. Great price and value .

Food was HORRIBLE... too salty. And the lady that gave me my food and packaging the food was coughing from her soul. She should have been sent home. I won't be back at all. The way this place was packed I just knew I had struck gold. Very disappointed

I am conducting a comprehensive business evaluation of Gulliory's Market. While the tamales rank among the top in the city, the company's rating may be attributed to concerns regarding interpersonal interactions with staff and the public. My personal experience working there for several months revealed a less-than-ideal attitude. As a result, I am inclined to withhold support for this business and discourage any affiliations with it.

Guillory's Deli & Tamales is located inside a residential neighborhood in Metairie where it originally opened as a grocery store in 1972 where they then developed their now famous tamales in 1998. Guillory's offers a a lot of great food in the small package of their deli. Some of the great things I've enjoyed include their po'boys, daily specials and obviously their tamales. The only thing I'm not happy with here is they don't have fresh brewed iced tea. Guillory's is a very popular lunch spot and they offer a lot of options that they put a lot of effort into making which has paid off for them as all that work has made this a very popular spot with people from the surrounding neighborhood.

      Came back for pics :P
Again, delicious chicken. We had a 3 pieces white (which they told me is actually 2 wings and a breast) 2 individual breasts (great value, reccomended), the roast beef po boys,again..soft,yummy roast beef, nothing complicated..just roast beef,we love IT. The burger sandwich was kind of dry and really simple as well. Good fried okra, good portion. The mac and cheese was literally mac and cheese. Just the noodles with a chunk of cheese, nothing else, kind of disappointed. The chilli was just ok. Again, love the place, the sides weren't a hit but maybe they were in a rush (specially for the burger sandwich). They have different dishes that look amazing and saw half the muffuletta and it is HUGE. Cant wait to come back

Tamales are consistently very good. Tamales are a little on the small side wrapped in paper. Good daily specials.

What a neighborhood gem! This place has been here for well over 2 decades qand has become one of my favorite hotplate, lunchtime attractions. Pictured is the hamburger steak dinner over fries - something I've gotten for over 20 years - and is ALWAYS A GREAT MEAL! They create amazing hot plates, have specialty cut meats and they create large platters for parties!
