The sushi was fantastic! The specialty cocktails that evening we're also very good. Inside the restaurant was so loud it was ridiculous. I don't understand why people feel they need to scream when they're at a table communicating with their party. Service was good, not great, but they were very busy. The only downside, it's expensive all things considered.

I went there with my husband and my dogs for brunch. They have outside seatings where dogs are allowed. Their cocktails were very nice, and the spinach quiche and the shrimp sandwich were both very tasty.
I felt they use good ingredients and cook foods with cares.
I will come back again for weekend's brunch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 10, 2022
Have been here for brunch and lunch several times - really great avocado toast (like, about as fantastic as avocado toast comes great), good espresso, lentil soup - amazing, beet salad yum. In the past I have had their Benedict and cheeseburger, also. Nice ambiance inside and out. Always professional staff. Solid place for delicious, elevated but simple food and a nice place to meet with friends for a meal.

This restaurant was always a beautiful space inside but, in the past, their food was mediocre at best. Kudos to this restaurant as I went last weekend and the food is now outstanding! Not just good, outstanding. I am quick to criticize bad food so I must be quick to praise real change. Keep it up. I'll be coming back.

Wonderful food, exceptional service, cute aesthetic/ ambiance! Just moved to the Northshore and was happy to have found this brunch spot. Great natural light, and wonderful menu options. Cinnamon roll is a must, as well as the bad bunny cocktail- so good.

Service wonderful. Cocktails great. My special of the day Omelette was very dry and over cooked. Bacon side very underwhelming. Probably not a redo for prices. Could find better.

The food is very good here! They have sushi specials which are different. It is pretty expensive but a classic glencoe go to. It's always busy on the weekends. The service is okay and the ambiance is good.

My wife and I went for brunch...what a disappointment. The Benedict was a tomato sauce drenched English muffin with shoe leather tough thick bacon and barely any hollandaise. The shakshuka was ok, but not notable.
Service seemed like it would be good. Nice hostess. Servers came to get order. Food arrived. That was the last we saw anyone. I had to ask for the check. I had to ask to pay my bill. No checking on drinks or food. Lots of "workers" not doing much.
It's too bad because it is a nice restaurant in a nice setting.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 19, 2017
Guildhall is a reliable restaurant with a nice ambiance both inside and on the sidewalk. The menu offers a fair variety of American bistro food with nods to some international cuisines.
You just can't take the menu dish names too seriously. For example, "Tarte Flambee" has no characteristics in common with a tart, and is not flambeed. It's actually a flatbread with a generous layer of cheese and ample piles of bacon. And it's big enough to serve as an entree, or for a table of four to share as an appetizer.
Yet the other appetizers we tried were much, much smaller. The delicious Ahi Tuna Crudo was just five small bites. And the also good smoked salmon was five slightly larger servings that were two or three bits each. Both would be a good appetizer for one person.
We also shared the seared shishito peppers. These were good, but were far spicier than I've had elsewhere; perhaps it was just this batch, but we ended up seeding them to make them more palatable.
Squid Ink Bucatini was just so-so. The shrimp and calamari were generous, but the bucatini was overcooked. Because it is essentially spaghetti with a hole through the center, it is very delicate, and needs a defter touch.
The Guildhall Burger was the best entree we tried. It was generous and juicy, topped with nice condiments and veggies, and served with well-crisped fries.
Skip the espresso, which is very bitter.
Service wasn't quite at a fine dining level, but was certainly adequate, and sufficiently attentive for an enjoyable meal on a very busy Father's Day evening.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 53481180Jun 27, 2017
We stopped in for a Sunday evening dinner--ordered the burger which came back exactly as requested.
It's scripted as a prime beef burger and it was prime! Well constructed with mozzarella and watercress. Even the condiments were imaginative. Pomme frites also very enjoyable.
The setting is of a bistro, roomy, comfortable, affable. Our server was Gilberto who was a 5-star server, making sure we were content and the iced tea kept coming.
I'd suggest a look toward gluten-free items, but this shortcoming is manageable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
