I used to have another dental plan, but due to my company being cheap they switched to Guardian. I was in the process of getting dentures when the switch was made, so my dentist had to resubmit the plans, and Guardian refused to cover the dentures. They took a high out-of-pocket cost and turned it into an astronomical out-of-pocket cost, one that I can not afford. Guardian Dental sucks. They are quite willing to take money out of my pay check every week, but they don't give you anything in return.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would.
By far, the worst customer service ever.
Refused to pay out the last 2 payments of a claim they previously approved for my son's braces. Who does that?????!!!!!! I couldn't get them on the phone. Everytime I did reach someone, I'd be disconnected after explaining the situation. I was placed on hold for 45 minute intervals while they "looked up" my claim. Both times that happened it was the same woman on the phone. I had to keep starting over. I was told someone would call me back yesterday, but they never did.
Today I started all over again! Same thing. Hang-ups and long hold times. I give up! I'll pay the balance myself and switch our dental insurance. These people are unethical and unprofessional.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brig C.San Francisco, CA068Jan 21, 2017

If I could give this horrible company no stars, I would. I have two teeth that are almost totally filled with amalgam and are cracked underneath. This ignorant company has insisted three times that I have enough tooth surface to put in another filling in both of them! They are the worst but, still want you to pay them out of your paycheck every two weeks! NEVER, EVER, EVER SIGN UP FOR THIS COMPANY'S PRODUCTS!! YOU'LL NEVER GET ANY BENEFITS FROM THEM!

Do not, under any circumstance, sign up for Guardian Dental Insurance. Their dental plan is a load of baloney and a crock of manure. I had a tooth pulled, under Guardian insurance, when working for a nonprofit in Los Angeles. I accepted a job offer with a nonprofit in San Francisco who also had Guardian insurance and had tooth implant surgery when working with my new employer. Although both procedures were done under Guardian, I'm told these two situations are considered "different policies", because I was with "different employers", and therefore had a "different group number". So apparently - - - as yet one more way to squirm out of paying a claim - - - Guardian Dental Insurance ... is not the same as Guardian Dental Insurance ... which is not the same as Guardian Dental Insurance. BEWARE.

Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. It was so bad the first time that I hung up and called back - thinking it was a scam number that preyed off of people that had misdialed by a digit. Wrong - they were just truly that rude and callous. Imagine LL Bean at one end of the customer service spectrum, with Guardian Dental at the other. :( I can only imagine what a claim dispute would be like.

no rating --- guardian insurance company is fraudulant.....they must have low premiums to get you to buy it .....but then they will deny paying for most all treament other than a regular cleaning and exam. guardian dental insurance is the worst of the worst. i work for a dental office and feel really bad for the patients that pay for the coverage and never get it. regular visits are usually covered but, any treatment coverage is a gamble. they seem to have dental consultants, who could be anyone, reviewing treatment that can not always be seen in an x-ray. the treatment is almost aways denied even after submitting records and x-rays. the patient is responsible for the balance denied. i have dealt with dental insurance for over 20 years and this is the one and only insurance company that i do not recommed. don't waste your money....your better off putting the premum in a saving account!
