Greek Theatre

Most recently, I went here for the Sylvan Esso concert, but I have been here tons over the last 20 years. I have pretty much seen almost all my favorite bands here and remains one of my favorite venues anywhere.

The setting feels intimate in a nice little quiet neighborhood and you get to see a great concert under the stars or at least somewhat a view of the sky/stars. (Not the clearest sky since you are in LA, haha). No matter where you sit here I feel like the view is always great, the sound is amazing, especially for an outdoor venue.

I typically grab some food in the area at the bottom of the hill before finding parking and walking up to the venue. I don't like parking in the venue parking lot because it takes forever to get out. Plus at my age I can use the exercise, ha ha.

Relatively speaking the tickets aren't too bad either. Maybe because I typically aim for concerts that aren't necessarily the most popular so the ticket prices are crazy.

Another note as of September 2021, is that they require a mask and proof of vaccination which made me feel comfortable to attend my first concert since the pandemic started.

I always love this venue and I hope to come back in the feature many more times.

I highly recommended prepaying "Quick Park." We parked right in front of the main entrance and left quickly. The food I got was gross (chicken strips and fries). Maybe other options are better. There were very few places to sit/stand and eat. You could take it to your seat, but That would have been messy. Staff was helpful and friendly.

I had a great time visiting the Greek theatre. The staff was polite, COVID guidelines were enforced. It was easy moving around the venue. They had tons of clean bathrooms. Love the dining area. Parking wasn't the best but if you purchase ahead of the concert it's a best. No cash excepted and you can pre order your food and drinks.

Amazing customer service with the receptionist name Judy thanks you so much for your patience. I called for information about a event and she was able to answer all my questions with manners. Thank you once again keep up the excellent work.

This is an iconic Los Angeles venue for a reason. I have been to a number of concerts here, and it has always been a good experience. Even the cheap seats are pretty good. The bathrooms are really clean. There are tons of stalls for the women's restroom. The concessions are good as well. The food is delicious, and I don't think it's more expensive than eating at a sit down restaurant. There are concessions on either side of the venue that sell the same food items. There are also merch tables on either side of the venue that usually sell the exact same items as well. Parking is often stacked. I would arrive early to ensure that you get a spot. You can also pre-pay for a parking spot. You should get an email that gives you the option to do this close to the event date if you purchased your tickets online. I would arrive early and give yourself plenty of time to make sure you get settled, but you don't have to. Security is usually pretty quick. If you do arrive early, there are tables and seats scattered throughout the perimeter of the venue where you can sit, eat, or just hang out. There are also your go-to hotdog vendors outside of the theater along the sidewalk to the parking lots and picnic tables outside as well where you can sit and enjoy your hotdog as you wait for traffic to die down after the show. Although, the traffic controllers do a good job of keeping traffic going, so it doesn't take forever to get out of the lots. Still, if you have no patience for waiting in traffic, leave before the last song plays.

Great venue, food options, parking options, bad employees make the experience not so good. Even if you pay for high priced, close to stage seats, some employee, security, ticket checkers, catering staff, will mess it up for you. Go fed, hydrated and don't expect to see the show undisturbed by semi-constant bright flashlights in your view by security, bad attitudes from general staff and catering that does not give a crap about much. Go see your favorite performer, (becuase the venue is small and many seats are decent), have a good time and focus on just that. The less interaction with the Greek's employees the better your time will be.

I came to the Los Lobos concert and almost NOBODY was wearing a mask in the bathroom. What's up with that? Zero enforcement of the regulations stated on the website.. Hope I don't get COVID. Would not have come to the concert if I had known. They should have put it on the website that they don't enforce the City of LA regulations on masks. They'll say they can't or whatever-- just let people know so you don't have seniors with underlying risk factors who got vaccinated 6 months ago showing up and getting exposed at this venue.

Make sure to arrive to the Greek theatre several hours earlier.  We arrived at 7pm and was within .5 of the theatre but took another 2.5 hrs to park in the parking lot we prepaid for and missed half the show.  Did not that realize watching a show here would require starting our day in the afternoon to plan.   We use to come to shows here ALL the time.  Not sure what happened.  If there isn't enough parking to move efficiently than you should not sell passes.

The Greek Theater is Iconic and amazing. Years and years ago i saw the music group Boston here along with Lenny Kravitz and a couple of Jazz and other Rocker bands. Place can of course hold more people than the Universal Ampitheater or Irvine Medows.  I just one of the best venues to see shows in Southern California Of Los Angeles.  Of course Griffith Park near the Zoo and the Los Angeles Observatory.  You will not be disappointed in attending a show. I hope we can get over Covid and get to do some shows here this summer.

I've been to two concerts here and I am always blown away at the beauty of this theatre.  There is NOTHING like this backdrop of the stage/sky/trees/surroundings.  It's the ultimate experience and I highly recommend for any other their shows/events.  Guaranteed a beautiful time, night and memory.
