This is an incredible place with the most delicious, homemade Spanakopita (just $2.50)! Owners Elias and Loula, are super helpful and friendly! They have an incredible array of goodies that make great appetizers for parties! I've posted a couple of photos of how magical their delicacies can be served! Great, large selection of fresh feta cheese and olives. They also have a fantastic selection of Greek wines and a couple of Greek beers as well! It's a great find, and I will be coming back often to indulge in these goodies!

THIS STORE HAS NOT CLOSED!
It is under new management and the name has changed from Greek Imports to Greek Halal Mediterranean Food.
This really is a fine store -- very clean with a wide selection of Greek, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern food. All top quality! The staff is very friendly and helpful, too.
Give it a try! The feta cheeses, olives, dates, and everything in the pastry counter are fresh and delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephen I.San Jose, CA525932201Feb 25, 2020
Can't believe I'm the first to review. SF Gate reviewed the transition of Greek Imports in Daly City switching to new owners and going Halal for SF Bay Area Muslims. Gone is the alcohol and tobacco, but now there is a whole new set of Mediterranean and Arabic foods.
I usually go to International Market off Curtner in San Jose, but now when I head up to the city this is going to be on the list of stops. Hats off to Elias Tsiknis for their willingness to sell this SF bay area gem to Nabil Fara for another generation of folks to enjoy.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stef M.San Francisco, CA18628Mar 4, 2020Updated review
Well sadly but not long overdue the original owners of the Greek imports has sold and are going to a better place soon GREECE. They have
been replaced by a young Arab or two ok. I visited
hoping to say goodbye and get some olives but no luck too late. So the store is changed you immediately see the big neon sign outside saying Halal ok. The showcase shelve as you walk in has vanished. They said that they haven't acquired the liquor license yet hmm. They claim to get all there stuff from the same supplier which would be Elias the brother in Greece.
They have a whole selection of middle east brands beans etc. All the beautiful pictures and ambiance is gone bread gone . So I guess you have to wait and see . SadHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 24, 2016Previous reviewYes this is the best Greek store that I have seen in Northern California and the only one that I will go to and I live in San Francisco and don't drive. The owners are wonderful gracious and thoughtful the products come directly from Greece thru their brothers store.
I have been visiting this store since it came to Daly City and many years before when they were on eddy street in San Francisco. I don't know what I will do if they close cause there is nothing like this store around here !! - Feb 5, 2009
This is really the ONLY Greek store that I've found in the Bay Area. I've gone here many times to shop simply because I hate having to order products online, pay for shipping and wait 2-3 weeks for my stuff to arrive.
Their stuff is expensive, the store is dirty and the lady behind the counter is kind of grumpy and rude. They never remember me but when I speak Greek, they become nicer and the prices go down. I've sent my (non-Greek) fiance to pick up items here and the prices go up. Once, I decided to walk in and speak English only with my fiance and when he asked how much an item was the owner said, "it depends on who is buying." SERIOUSLY, WTF. I said, "Poso kane?" (How much) and the price went down from what he quoted my fiance. I'm all for ethnic pride and that BS but not at the exclusion and mistreatment of non-Greek customers. RIDICULOUS!!!
If you want better prices and really good customer service and nice perks - speak Greek. Otherwise, shop somewhere else.
By the way, the spanakopita is really good in the deli case.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - James S.San Luis Obispo, CA672226145Apr 14, 2019
I really love this non-descript, working man's Greek market in working class, Daly City. There are lots of trinkets and kitschy statues that you would likely find in any gift shop in Greece (and who doesn't need another statue of Zeus?), but that's not why you should go. They have a television on in the corner, channeling Greek TV news from Greece in Greek, but that's not why you should go. The Greek lady who was behind the counter was great to talk with, but that's not why you should go either, although it might be--she was charming and fun. The number one reason that I went is that Greek Imports has hard to find imported Ouzos. That is actually how I first heard of this place-- after trying Tirnavou Ouzo at Estiatario Kokkari and asking where oh where I could get summa that-the waiter told me about Greek Imports in Daly City. Well, that was several years ago and I finally got here and they did indeed have it. There are also lots of real Greek wines (but I never know what to do about those) and also hard to find Raki. What I did not know and another BIG reason you should go to Greek Imports is the baked goods. The baklava is outstanding. And the Spanikopitas and Tiropitas are large, fantastic and triangular with flaky and buttery filo dough. I asked my friendly counter lady 'who makes these treats?' and she said "I chava lady". Also, lots of Feta varieties available and Pastitsio noodles as well. Everything that a poor Greek boy needs and can not find too many other places.
I did like chatting with the proprietor -- she asked "Who is the Greek?" and I raised my hand. She then asked me in Greek if I spoke Greek. I answered her in Greek, "poli ligo (very little)". For some reason, Greeks are incredulous and outraged when they find out you have Greek heritage but don't speak the language. "WHY?! Why you no speaka Grik?!" And "I don't have anybody to practice with" is no excuse whatsoever. But, I will visit as often as I can, not that I go to Daly City all that much, well, never before actually; but, I will make more of an effort in the future just because of this place. And maybe to check out the kafenea which is right next door (The Greek Club).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - J C.San Francisco, CA7734Jan 3, 2015
I only come here for one reason:
Attiki Honey
$16.49/1 lb. bottle
If you're not getting your honey hookup from a beekeeper, this is one of your best alternatives. Great stuff, not the easiest thing to find in stores.
This place is quaint as best. Service is what it is. You can almost always pull into a parking space right outside or within a few paces of the front door. You won't have to pull a number or wait in line for anything. :)
As someone else said, they toss in a few pieces of candy when you buy stuff. I'd rather have a $1 discount...had a hard time giving them away.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steph P.San Francisco, CA3435925Mar 31, 2018

This a great place to get some of the Greek essential goodies. The prices are reasonable for imports and the products are all in good condition( haven't seen anything spoiled or expired so far).
You can find original Greek feta cheese, spanakopita, mastiha, etc
The owner is a sweet and polite lady.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
