Hi my name is Spyridon, I am the owner of Greek House Cafe. We are a family restaurant that originally began in 1991 serving Santa Barbara County over 30 years ago. My mother Kassi with her former partner Nick originally opened Greek House Tavern and later moved to Simi Valley in 2001. Since then we have been proudly and successfully serving the Tri-Counties with our Traditional Homestyle Greek Cuisine. In 2020, I reopened the restaurant after closing to remodel and expanded with a larger dining area and a beautiful private patio. Greek House Cafe has been voted as the winner of “LA’s Best Food Award” multiple times since 2001, and Best Greek Food Winner in Ventura County Star 2018, Readers Choice Awards and more. Thanks to all of our amazing customers who have been supporting us throughout the years! Our Services: Dine-in, Togo, Online Orders, Curbside Pickup, Patio and Catering. *Reservations are welcome and you can book Special Events for Private Functions and Parties* If you're looking for Traditional Homestyle Greek Cuisine like in the many of the villages of beautiful Greece, then our Cafe is for you. We are not a fast food place (not by any means), and we do not precook our food. Each order is made to order, we take no short cuts and pride ourselves in this. Stop in today for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed. Thank you for checking our page, we look forward to serving you, your family and friends!

Oh my goodness, it was as if a Greek family has invited me into their home and cooked mouth-watering food for me.
Servers were friendly and often checked upon us to see if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything. Everyone was generous and genuinely friendly. The hummus is homemade and is absolutely delicious. The toasted pita bread was almost immediately consumed by our party as we dove into the hummus.
The chicken breast kabobs were tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The gyro was equally just as tender, juicy, and flavorful. Every item we tasted was solid and we had no complaint.
There is also an outdoor patio. Indoors, shutters draped with vines and grapes lined the wall to offer a brief escape from Simi Valley. The space was clean. The women's restroom was immaculate. Often, I find changing tables at restaurants to be neglected but I felt at ease using it for my infant because it was spotless.
Overall, I am impressed and glad we stumbled upon this restaurant while craving Mediterranean food. Great ambiance, immaculate, delicious food, and the friendliest service!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Kristina,
Thank you for giving us such a high compliment. This means so much. It was my mother’s idea when she named the restaurant many years ago, she named it Greek House, because she wanted our guests to feel like they’re coming to our home. My mother comes from a small little village in Corinth, Greece and the hospitality that she knew, and taught us as well was to treat our guests as family coming to our home. Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it and so happy that you enjoyed your experience and your meal at Greek House! Hope to see you again soon! - Erica B.Agoura Hills, CA626337175Apr 2, 2024
Food was very good. Pretty traditional. Hidden gem in Simi Valley.
We went on a busy Friday evening. Service was okay.
Menu could use a revamp. It lists all of their dishes, even has some kid options, but does not have any explanation of what the dish is or even an ingredient list.
The lamb gyro plate with green beans was my favorite. The avgolemono was really thick and salty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nikki B.Simi Valley, CA1284915Apr 1, 2024
Now, I've been coming here for over 10 years (since I was 14, I'm 28 now). I've never been disappointed by their food, and the chefs have been attentive to me and my family supporting the business since a young age.
Although, the service my boyfriend and I got today was disappointing. It took getting the cooks attention for a waiter to come and help us get assistance, because the servers were more clear on helping the bigger parties that were here (there was one party of 6, and two of 8+). We were trying to be patient as servers were helping several parties, although there were 6 waiters to serve maybe 6 tables that were full? Would've been about a waiter a table, assuming all waiters were available since they were all serving during the time we were here.
The food was delicious as always, and the atmosphere is still relaxing granted our experience here with the waiters was a bit challenging.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 18, 2023
I have eaten here twice in the last few months due to convenience as far as parking, and it is close to the area I am staying at.
Inside Inside has plenty of tables if you want to dine in. The decor is not fancy but does what it needs to do, makes you feel invited.
The staff are cheery and helpful including all of the people that took our order, gave us the to go order, and that were clearing and cleaning the tables.
The menu is expansive and has plenty of options from lunch to party platters for large parties.
The prices are reasonable for the amount of food that you get.
This time I tried the chicken souvlaki lunch plate with fries and rice and pita bread. Salad was also an option but I was sharing a salad with someone so went with rice instead. The chicken was a little dried out but everything tasted great.
I think the salad was missing pita bread but it was a good salad.
I also tried the spanakopita this time. They were very large, not like any I had ever had before, but warm, tasty, and great.
The previous time I had a chicken plate which was great, and the Saganaki (famous Greek flaming cheese) which I was disappointed with, I think because I was expecting more due to the claim.Helpful 11Thanks 1Love this 11Oh no 0 - Dec 11, 2023
I have wanted to try Greek House Cafe for a long time but never had the chance. I finally made it over here for lunch today with my daughter. I asked my daughter why didn't we come here sooner?
The menu is expansive. There are so many items to choose from. I chose to focus only on the lunch plates. I decided on the lamb kabob plate since I'm a big fan of lamb. With the lunch plate, you get a choice of two sides between salad, fries, and rice. I chose salad and rice. We also decided to order an appetizer of spanokopita. The spanokopita are ginormous compared to other Greek restaurants. They were delicious. We brought them home to snack on later. The lunch plate was piled high with food. The portion is large. Besides the entree and two sides, you also get some pita bread and tzatziki. The lamb was tender and seasoned perfectly. It had a lovely flavor and did not taste gamey at all, which can sometimes happen with lamb. The salad was also a good-sized portion with a nice Greek oil-vinegar dressing.
The restaurant is very nice inside and they have a large patio outside. You order at the front and they will bring the food to your table. The servers are friendly and checked in on us to make sure everything was okay. They brought us extra napkins and boxes when we asked. They also brought little chocolate cookies to complete our meal when we were getting ready to leave.
I can't wait to return and try some of the other menu items.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

I used to frequent the Greek House a couple times a month for their Gyro Plate since I worked nearby.
This visit was much overdue and seeing the restaurant still well maintained after their remodel was a pleasure.
Staff at the register were very friendly. However, I noticed the prices have almost doubled. The Gyro Plate in 2020 was $13.25. Fast forwarding to 2023, the current price is a shocking $22.95! Luckily, I had someone with me to split the dish with. The portion remained generous, but I felt that the new price was simply too high.
However, the Gyro Plate had the same scrumptious taste and quality that it had previously. Gyro meat, fries and pita all still had their perfect crispness. Salad was well balanced with the cheese and tomato. Tzatziki not too thick and of perfect consistency.
This past visit was a good reminder to come back more often, but because of the large jump in price, I'll have to limit my visits and remind myself to try to make two meals out of the single plate.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

May 25, 2018Previous reviewThe Greek House is one of my favorite places to grab a bite for lunch in Simi. I usually get the Gyro Plate with fries. The Gyro is juicy, a little crispy and wonderfully seasoned. You'll want to just keep eating it. The fries here are always cooked well and aren't soggy, but not too dry either.
Staff is always friendly whether you eat there or take the food to-go.

What a difference 10 years makes. Quality of the food hasn't changed, but price and portion size has. I don't know who in Simi Valley can afford to pay $20+ for a side salad portion size of the gyro salad -- but I cannot. I understand inflation, but this is ridiculous!
The ambiance is beautiful, with beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. The servers are polite, but they don't seem to know anything about the size or the cost of the items on the menu.
I use to love this place every time I find myself in Simi - but I will make my way to Larsen's for a quality meal with a better price point.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 29, 2013Previous review3 1/2 Stars
This is a small restaurant, trapped at the end of a mini mall in Simi Valley. I think for Simi Valley this might be a five, but not when compared to restaurants in LA or New York.
A cash only spot that doesn't accommodate big groups at all. The Dolmades are not very good, nor the tryopitas. Moussaka left a lot to be desired and the chicken was dry. If I want a Greek fix, I will come here because it is 10x better than Daphney's, but if I am willing to drive - Papa Cristo's or Aliki's Greek Travern here I come. - Ruben R.Thousand Oaks, CA13812Apr 24, 2024
This was my second time eating food from this restaurant. This time around my wife's and I ordered the chicken dinner plate. And a banana cream pie. As we entered the establishment The restaurant was clean, staff was very nice and attentive. The food this time around fell flat on its face. The chicken was ground so it tasted like bland chicken sausage. Almost looked like spam. The rice was ok. They gave free green beans on the side that didn't taste good. They also gave us a very small amount of peta bread compared to what we ordered between my wife and I. Over all I was disappointed. Would not recommend or revisit.

Food was good; but very expensive. There are other places in simi with same or better quality food at lower price. The service is great; that's why this place is busy.
