We got take out food during the virus scare.
The cashier was friendly and helpful. She explained the difference between the regular beef brisket plate and the low and slow plate. The service was fairly fast.
The food was great. My daughter ordered the pulled pork sandwich. She said that the meat was moist, tender and smokey. I was interested in the beef brisket plate, but based upon the description, I decided to order the low and slow plate.
The beef brisket on the low and slow plate was super tender. It was covered in sauce. I ordered beans and mac & cheese as the side dishes. The mac & cheese was rich and creamy. The beans were very flavorful.
We'll definitely be back for more beef brisket and to try the banana pudding dessert.

Worst BBQ ever. Dried out chicken, under cooked green beans. And that's the best you can do with sauce. Glad we got a refund from the manager. Who was very short with me. I'm not sure how you stay in business! I'd give a minus star if I could

GC BBQ has been hit or miss for me over the years. Either their food is excellent or I get a product that perhaps has been sitting around too long.
Their pork and brisket can be really good when they are on top of their game. Also, the mac and cheese is pretty awesome (more like mac and cheese alfredo). The potato salad is decent but I prefer it to not be a mustard base. The cole slaw and greens are good options as well.
I would give them a higher rating but their customer service has been pretty lacking the past few times I've been in there. This last time we were the only customers getting a large family pack to go, and we must have sat there a good 15 minutes before anyone even moved off their butts in the kitchen to start prepping. My wife even got up to request less bark in the meat, and the people working there practically ignored her by not looking at her and hardly acknowledging a response. Pretty lethargic, lazy and enough to make me hesitate frequenting this establishment again.

I had lunch at Grand Champion BBQ. The baby back ribs, and mac and cheese were great. The greens were also great, but I found that a little went a long way. They would be a good dish to share. I would definitely go back for the ribs!

Decided to drop in for lunch and was NOT DISAPPOINTED! I am an amateur pit master, and these ribs I consider better than Fox Bro's (sorry guys!). The Brunswick stew was THE BEST I've ever had! I've had most of the stew among the "popular" BBQ joints around ATL, and this is my favorite, hands down.
They only have 2 sauces, original (sweet) and NC style (vinegar-based), and frankly that's all it needs! Good rub for the ribs. The Mac 'n' Cheese was good, but not amazing. I was told that next time I have to try their "lasagna" which is the Mac with the Stew on top.
Got some Banana Pudding for dessert. Damn good as well!

Badass little BBQ restaurant. I've had smoked chicken, sausage, pulled pork, and brisket here. All have been delicious. Nice staff inside, mom and pop vibes.

Grand Champion has been my favorite, i always tell my friends to skip other bbq locations and go there, but i will hold my tongue in the future. My wife surprised me today and called in a pound of brisket! This is what they gave her. its so so dry I threw it out, the turkey in Christmas vacation had to be better. Very disappointing!!!

I had the brisket, if you wanna smoke flavor at all do not get the brisket. It was tender, and after putting on salt had some flavor. If you want true barbecue brisket there is only one place in Atlanta I know of and that is fox brothers. Now that is barbecue brisket.

I wanted to like this place so badly. It's close to home and hell, it's BBQ. I stopped by for lunch and ordered a brisket plate and my dining companion had the pulled pork plate. It came to $26, which is expensive for the amount of food we received. The place smelled divine, so we paid and sat down to eat.
Then, it all went downhill. The BBQ portion was small and tasted like absolutely nothing. How is this possible? It smells like pitmaster paradise. I ate it because I paid for it, but I wasn't happy. I ordered collards and green beans for sides. The green beans are prepared fresh and were delicious. I could have eaten only that. The collards needed help, but I ate them anyway.
I'll make the trek to my favorites instead of coming here again.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
