This is our third year as a Got Game aftercare family and second year using them for break/summer camps. I'm so thankful we signed up with the organization three years ago, when kids returned to school post-Covid. My then TK daughter and 1st grade son took to the coaches (GG name for counselors) from day 1, and have loved every day of care since. Our last kid started K this year and feels the same. I HIGHLY recommend Got Game Camps for aftercare and break camps!
We have had the same site director, Coach Mo, at our elementary since we started. Coach Mo loves our kids and every other kid there like they are her own. She genuinely cares about each student, and often notices something is up with the kids before anyone else. She is the first to let a caregiver know something seems off AND share when a kid has an amazing day. She and the other site lead, Coach Anthony, care for 90+ kids (with ample other coaches to ensure students are well supervised), and do it with a smile.
GG divides the kids into two groups, rookies and pros, to ensure the students play with their peer groups and have the best time.
Things we love about GG (besides Mo and Anthony):
Aftercare:
- we get weekly newsletters with what the kids did that week, what they will be doing the following week and photos
- the coaches pick the littles (TK - 1st) from their classrooms to take to camp. if a student is having a hard say, they provide a little extra attention to make the kiddo feel better, dry their tears, etc
- they organize interesting and fun rotations daily, no two days in a row are ever the same. there are three active and three creative rotations per day, and students may choose from these so they aren't stuck doing the same thing the whole day if they don't want (ie, two active/one creative). i have one always active kid, one mostly creative kid and one we are still trying to figure out. they have an amazing time always
- homework first. sign your student up for this and a GG coach supervises their homework and ensures they finish everything, even running through spelling words and reading time! All three of my kids are at/above grade level - I have to give Mo, Anthony, and the rest of the team credit for a lot of that!
Camps:
- Short ave is a lot of fun, and conveniently located
- hours are good
- the coaches know the kids names and ages (pro vs. rookie) by the second day. i don't know how they do it, but they do!
- they offer healthy food (not that my kids eat it - but nice to have available!)
- water play every day - one of my kiddos loves waterplay, the others do not. totally find, optional participation
- great field trips, if you opt to participate!
- my kids always see at least a couple of their coaches at the diff sites. they love that, but also meeting new coaches
- rotations are awesome. they offer lots of active rotations and creative activities. we've received mugs, clay things, frames, terrariums - all the things from creative
- lost and found: sure, some kids lose their stuff - it's ALWAYS in the lost and found, and they spread everything out at least once/week for parents to locate missing things. they ask that people label their kiddos stuff - SUPER helpful if you do that...
- dirty kids. a dirty kid is the sign of a great day for my children. they play hard, they chill, they do fun crafts. i love it. they love it.
- tired kids who do not want to leave. no explaination necessary. i've never received a call or comment that my kid wanted to come home in the middle of the day. ever.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelly B.Playa Del Rey, CA7118Jan 3, 2024
Got Game took my 3 kids (5, 5 and 8) on a days notice! They made it so easy and all 3 of my kids raved about how much fun they had. My two boys loved the coaches and I think they played sports for 8 straight hours. My daughter came home with lots of projects like beaded necklaces! Drop off and pick up was quick and easy. The West Valley has been in need of something like this and so glad Got Game is finally here.

Summer 2023
This is my second time I've written a review for Got Game. My second review isn't because anyone asked me too and not because I've received anything from the camp besides pure happiness and excitement from my child spending the entire summer with the camp.
My son Enzo is on the spectrum and he spent his entire summer here for the last two months. We did a trial run in Spring and he loved it so much we sent him back. It is worth every penny.
The camp coaches and the structure of the company and the staff is impeccable. My son runs on an obsession for routine, cleanliness, comfort, passion and most of all to be included for his beautiful differences and the got game coaches and staff have made him feel accepted loved appreciated and more.
The field trips are so fun and well organized and professional even for my child who sometimes gets nervous with the new it doesn't feel anything different then a day at camp!
Thank you so much to the got game team. Thank you for being kind, loving and supportive and hiring such wonderful staff that make the children especially my boy feel right at home!

I was nervous transitioning him to a new camp since his original camp didn't cover the entire time he would be on break and I wanted to keep him busy having fun. Got game made that transition as a mom so easy and comfortable. They assured me of their experience and of their structured schedule and the ability that my son would be perfectly cared for. They weren't kidding. They absolutely over delivered. Not only were they structured had fun activities everyday that were new and exciting for children. They pushed my son out of old routines into new ones and encouraged him to try new things all while believing that no disability would hold my son back. They made him so happy in new ways as a mom I never thought I would be able to see. He communicated new words and new activities and was so excited to attend camp everyday. Thank you got game and to their wonderful caring counselors can't wait to be back!

Our eight-year-old son participated in a Got Game camp that was offered at his elementary school, and we were really happy with it! Our son loved the games and fun coaches, and we loved that he got moving every day after school! He came home beat but happy every day.

My 6 year old boy loves this camp in West Hills. He went for summer and just last week for Thanksgiving break. I also signed him up for winter break. The coaches are good and professional. When I pick my kid up, he is usually playing and doesn't want to leave - that's a good sign! They are understanding and kind. My son had no complaints, except that he can't bring his ipad lol but that's the whole idea right. I have a job that i can bring my kid to, but he would just be on his ipad all day and that's so not good for him. Got game is legit and professional, I trust them with my son and will probably be sending him every break from school from here on out.

We booked the Got Game team for a youth birthday party. They somehow wrangled and kept a large group of kids entertained and having a blast for hours! The birthday boy had the best time with all the sports/games! Grateful for their energy and creativity and all of their efforts to coordinate/plan ahead of time. Would book again!

My 10 year old did a trial run, 3 weeks for Flag Football and 3 weeks with Basketball after school. He had a great time, came home sweating every day and with developed skills. Coaches obviously know what they are doing!

My daughter went to "summer camp" at Shorter elementary and it was not a good experience. Most days her clothes got trashed with stains all over her that wouldn't come out. I have a stain remover that basically get all our stains out so I have no idea what they did at that camp that these stains never would come out.
Don't they know to use washable paint and markers?? We must have thrown away $750+ worth of clothes new and old. Very frustrating.
There were days her bathing suits & clothes were missing, her towels would get destroyed and there were days her clothes and personal items would be in different places scattered around on the dirty ground vs in her backpack.
Also, there was a day they called me to let me know her and some of her friends found SCISSORS there and cut each others hair. How did a bunch of 4 year olds just find scissors and cut eat others hair off with no supervision and how long did this go on for. One kid had to shave his head bc it was so bad. Have no idea what kind of scissors these little kids found and if they were sharp.
It felt really unorganized and like the kids mostly roamed loose on the campus filling their time.
It's also pricey looking back at what we got which was like a babysitting ratio of 40-50 kids to one "camp counselor".
Would NOT recommend and think they need to do a complete revamp of this camp.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jennifer K.Los Angeles, CA012Dec 30, 2023Updated review
My son has been going here since he was 6 years old and absolutely LOVES it! He's now almost 12 and still LOVES it! The counselor's are great with lots of options for activities!

He's made some great friends and loves the camaraderie between all the kids. The coaches are so great at motivating and keeping the kids engaged. My son begs me to go every school break!

We have loved this summer camp for our 1st grader!!! The coaches are very welcoming and engage the kids all day long with sports, water games, crafts and play time. We'll be back next year with the younger sibling, as we know they'll get to enjoy it together. The water slides are really fun on Fridays!! My child has really enjoyed the different sports he's been able to play each week. Thank you Got Game coaches and stafff!!! You guys made it so easy and our camper had a great summer thanks to you all!
