I was just here this past weekend.
So amazing!!!
I had a bunch of friends in from out of town and they wanted to have one of those crazy, no sleep, out till 6 am kind of night.
Amazing DJs, great space. - Valerie H.Houston, TX12632910010/28/2015
I attended Thrillist BBQ and Blues hosted by Adam Richman, for the NYCWFF event. This venue isn't much to look at. It's in the basement of Hudson Hotel. It was warm and shabby. Even the decor for the event itself wasn't much to look at.
I probably wouldn't go back for the 'club experience' unless it was someone I really wanted to see. - Jerrica J.New York, NY97013912362/15/2010
This former YMCA gym situated next to Hudson Hotel is now open for business. I came here for a few events during Fashion Week. After open bar, the drinks are overpriced. 12-15 dollars for an adult beverage!
The 7,000 space is available for any type of party, gallery opening, or photo shoot. Forget about using your cellphone because there is NO coverage at all once you walk in the building since its in the basement.
Sound system is great, and plenty of room for dancing. - Amanda L.New York, NY11284174/15/2010
Ok this space was pretty fxxking awesome. Â
Not sure if it was the fact that I was totally blown away by the crazy drum party last night, but being at this underground venue at the basement of the Hudson Hotel made me feel pretty cool. Â
The way to get there is to make a right once you are at the main entrance, then you take the stairs down next to the elevators. Â It was a huge space with a bar at each of the two floors. Â Bartenders were attentive, in fact, one of them hooked me up with a free drink, yay! Â The center was this enormous full height well where one was able to look down to the performers. The vibe - garage like, with very good sound system. Â Definitely a place where one felt present and had the itch to jump and dance. Â There was also a small room to lounge around. Â Â
Great place to be at if there's something big going on. - Elena V.New York, NY1041912323/8/2010
Very impressive loftlike space- Ibiza style foam parties and raves come to mind. Â The club is comprised of three different rooms, the smallest one is cozy and features a couch and some chairs which are nice to lounge around on. Â The decor with graffitti and magazine cutouts is fun and adds some colour and kitsch to the rawlike space.
Came here for a few FW events; Patricia Field was a success as they had enough elaborate decor and people to fill it up whereas other events had the space feeling vacant, cold, and dreary (example Jeremy Scott after party). Â Too large and inconveniently located to stay hot; guessing it will turn into a Crobar type place before long with a few daytime conventions thrown in.
*Note: As the previous reviewer mentioned- no cell reception whatsoever. You have to go up all the stairs and step out to get any bars at all. Not just a T-mobile issue this time:] - Jennie A.Brooklyn, NY92138768/10/2011
I absolute hate going above 14th street & I love this place! Â I went with friends on Saturday night & had a great time. Â I just wish there wasn't a $30 cover.
- No dress code
- Drinks  were around $14/$15 each
- Great DJs
- Polite people who don't freak out when you bump into them & who apologize when they bump into you
- those categorized as "creeps" weren't that creepy
I definitely want to come back. - Campbell K.Manhattan, NY7779643/6/2011
So this is the third time I have been to the BLKMarket Membership Party at Good Units, and I cannot emphasize enough how much I love it. It drops ONE star for losing my credit card last night, but hey, I forgot to close my tab, and I can't really complain when nobody can find it on a Sunday night.
This has become a bit of a ritual for me and a group of my close friends from college. Most of us live here, but the one major outlier makes a business trip here about once a month, and we try to do it up right for the weekend, to show him "how we do it here".
This usually comprises an alcohol-drenched dinner at somewhere indulgent (Hurricane Club is the reigning favorite), followed by some apartment pre-gaming (I hate that term), and now, the BLKMarket at Good Units.
Normally I hate raves. The venues that house them are overcrowded and usually resemble a matte-black auditorium. There is nowhere clean to relax or take a load off, the bars are mobbed, and service is poor. None of this is the case at Good Units. The bartenders are extremely responsive and friendly. The people are generally all young and attractive, and mostly residents of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The best part is that this venue keeps a tight lid on capacity, about 1/3 of what a place like Webster Hall might try to pack into a similar space. There is room to move around, even to have your own little area, but there are still enough to make a "dance epicenter", if you will. Plush seating surrounds the main area, and there are several other rooms for a more laid-back vibe, if that is what you seek.
Overall just a great place, totally assuaging all of my hangups about rave settings. Not to mention how uber-cool one feels walking into a seemingly "underground" (well, literally speaking) venue and emerging into a concrete-chic party house.
Hilarious moment of the evening: Unsurprisingly, the bathrooms tend to be a den of druggy-iniquity, although admittedly staying clean in the traditional sense. Sounds of snorting synced up with multiple flushes from every stall all evening. While washing my hands, I became amused by a young man who was chain-flushing the toilet, no less than 27 times in a row. You'd think at that point he'd just try to own his habit... - Clint H.Brooklyn, NY356509875/22/2011
Seriously I'm here once a week for an event of some sort. It's actually quite strange; but what's even weirder is that I've been here so many times and haven't reviewed it. It is time...
This place is huge, absolutely gigantic. There is tons of room for everyone and their mom to fit, with plenty of room to dance. I've been to quite a few different events here too, so I've seen the different ways they've decorated and it's been all cool. There's an upstairs balcony area for you to look down on who ever is performing on the main basement level, which has plenty of room, like I mentioned earlier.
The bartenders can be a bit snappy if they're not tipped, but besides that their nice and quick with the drinks. My only real complaint with Good Units is the fact that I don't get cellphone service all the way down there, it is the basement of a hotel after all. Besides that though it's a great space and great place to party. - James B.Queens, NY304641/4/2011
Went to what should have been a very informative health and safety meeting that was being held here. Little did I know it was actually a raucous dance party. Â
Upon entering you are in the Hudson Hotel and there are families on vacation hustling past towards the check-in. To get to the space you need to descend four or five flights of stairs past glowing red signs and dark hall ways. Add to the mystic of the place or make you feel like you are going to the depths of hell. Â then like that you spit yoursself out into a club similar to the downstairs are webster hall or santos party house.
Whatever. I danced I bought drinks. Which were surprisingly cheap. if you are scraping the bottom of the barrel like I am on the frequent saturday night you are happy with $4 cans of rolling rock and $10 LITs. The mixed drinks were plenty strong.
The stage and standing space in front of it was big enough for 150 or more people with a small bar setup in the  back of the room. There was also a larger bar in the Ante room with a coat check off on the left and a chill out room and restrooms on the right.
The DJ the night I was there was non-existant but I blame the organizers and not the venue. The sound system was good and pounding.
I would go back if I'm informed of future safety meetings, I want to keep up on fire drill procedures. - Hannah L.Philadelphia, PA423550577/9/2010
what a cool venue!!!
in the basement of the hudson hotel, quite the different vibe from the bar clubs upstairs.
my friend has a pretty hot music blog, and we got invited by semi precious weapon's PR team to come to the private show after their show at msg with lady gaga. it was HOT.
we got special bracelets and got to go into the balcony for the open vodka bar. the words "good units" are spray painted next to the bar on both sides. funky. then we went to see the show.
i love the venue! its big and raw and an awesome space. it feels very underground and secret and hip. plus, i have never seen such an attractive crowd in my life. i need to be at more private concerts ;)
