This place never disappoints!!! I've been going here for 15+ years and the food is always on point. I love their hong sui gai, fried rice and wonton soup!! I honestly think their wonton soup is the best I've ever had!!

I'm really sad to see this place go, as it will be closing within a week of me posting this review. I had see this place in the same plaza as Amazon fresh, but I never bothered to go in because I honestly wasn't sure if it was a fast food kind of place. I saw on the Huntington Beach local Facebook group that advertises local businesses-that this place was closing and that it was actually legit.
After living down the street for 2 years and living in the area for 5 years, I can't believe this gem was in my backyard all along. Some highlights are the pepper steak and the chow fun! Their last day is 1/31/23, so I plan on ordering once more to go before they close up shop, highly encourage anyone else to do so tooHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Patti D.Laguna Niguel, CA02Jan 2, 2024
Our family had been going to Gong's Chinese restaurant, on a regular basis since their first week open, they made the absolute best egg, foo young with gravy that we have ever had!
They also made the most unique special eggrolls, none anywhere can compare!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rhonda H.Salt Lake, Honolulu, HI03112Oct 9, 2023
This has been a family favorite since the late 1970's. Their egg fu yung, wor wonton soup and fried rice was the best. We moved to Hawaii and would always stop in for great food when we visited. So sad to hear this great family business has closed!

Lunar New Year and the fireworks are going off everywhere. Time to choose between Rabbit or Cat...Kung Hay Fat Choy..we choose Rabbit..Gong's Chinese Restaurant is where we will celebrate. By the looks on the sign by the window, they may not make it to the next anniversary as new ownership of a different business model is already taking place. No worries we are here to have our special lunar new year Chinese dinner. The lovely missus orders her favorite Sweet&Sour Pork with a bowl of white steamed Rice. I have a pork fried rice and a Gongs specialty dish of vegetables with Tofu in a savory sauce. But before we get down to eat, let's start with a up of a nice broth of egg flower soup. The missus was a little disappointed that she found no pineapple in the Sweet&Sour Pork and she asked for her steamed rice twice before it was apologizing brought.... Some do..and some don't. The pork pieces in the fried rice gave this dish that porkiness you want even though a heavy hand of the dark soy sauce was present. The best dish I think was all those great vegetables cooked in a savory thin gravy like sauce with the blocks of Tofu mixed in between...great dish with or without rice. For dessert we were each given a wrapped fortune cookie and what has become rare, a nice crunchy almond on top yes..almond cookie. A great way to enter the new year without worries of parking and fighting crowds and easy acceptance of the credit card. Hoping we can come back to Gong's Chinese Restaurant soon before it becomes some kind of a brunch place.

It's been more than a few years, but Gong's has been in my hood forever. I've lived in the area for over 43 years....and it was always the "go to" place for local Chinese food.
I remember when, (extremely handsome) Mr. Gong (not sure that's his name, but probably) was the head chef behind all this great food and would always greet everyone with a nod and smile, but I haven't seen him here for years, so it's nice to know he created such a great family business and was able to retire early, according to his God son who was running the front yesterday, Mr. Gong is happily fishing every day.
Came in here for my all time favorite, egg foo young and opted to add the house special lo mein and some pork fried rice for a quick, reasonable dinner. Out the door for $30 and some change and with what seemed like such a heavy bag of delicious food that will last my husband and I for next few days.
Come in and pay a visit to this establishment who has been loyal to the HB community for decades. You won't be disappointed.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Christian D.Long Beach, CA0114Jul 16, 2023

Excellent Chinese food place in Huntington Beach. They have family meal specials and dinner for two specials. The food came right away and was very good. The veggie chow mein was delicious! We loved the orange chicken and shrimp rolls. We asked for sweet and sour sauce to dip them in and the sauce was delicious! I highly recommend this place for date night or dinner out with friends. There is a big room for parties as well. We were surprised to have generous leftovers from the dinner for two special!

We've been going to Gong's since I can EVER remember! We actually knew the family back when I was in elementary through high school. Hope they are doing well! We still order for pick-up regularly. I hope they never ever leave because I judge every Chinese Food order against them. Always good, the Orange Chicken is my forever favorite!
