Their Shrimp fried rice is the best I've had in Corpus Christi,and they give you alot. I got the Number #7 combination (Sweet and sour Chicken breast fried shrimp,fried fish, Wonton,egg roll, egg drop soup). The number 7 is good. My only issue is the shrimp and fish have too much batter and sometimes the batter is not fried all the way through. The fried chicken are so good. Chicken breast are not dried out like they are at most Chinese restaurants here in C.C. I love there egg drop soup. It also the best egg drop soup in CC I ever had. My food is always hot and freshly made. Staff are nice.

Oh no 0Feb 6, 2019Previous reviewGreat service.I've eaten the egg drop soup, general Tso Chicken,beef and broccoli, eggrolls, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour pork, tempura fried seafood, etc. Everything that I have eaten at this restaurant taste good except the side fried rice. I don't like it. It taste like they pour chicken broth over it. It's dry and stale.

Sesame chicken was heavy on the breading. Never had sesame chicken with that much breading, has a Big Crunch to it. General Tso, beef & broccoli, & egg rolls were delicious. Fried rice tasted reheated, probably the worst thing there. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are high, but you can share between 2 or 3 people. My sesame chicken made 3 meals. Good place to get Chinese takeout, you can skip eating inside.

21196904Nov 6, 2023Golden Crown is located on Everhart near the Saratoga cross street. The store front looks small but the interior is surprisingly big. The interior is stuck in a time warp with older style decorations and everything the color pink. I don't mind that if the food is good but it was nothing great.
The portion size for my lunch special was very generous! It came with egg drop soup and cripsy wontons. Unfortunately, my garlic chicken entree had no flavor. It definitely needed soy sauce and garlic.
It was nice that I had enough for another meal and pricing was okay ($12+) but I don't want to pay and doctor my meal up at home.
I also ordered a hot and sour soup take out which had all of the right ingredients in them. It was just missing the savory and sourness that I have come to expect when having this soup.
Overall, prices are not bad here (for lunch) but the food is not worth the price.

It is very competitive with any other Chinese restaurant in Corpus. We will be going back this week to explore different plates.

Still the best service and friendly employees.
Tonight the General Beef as well as the General Chicken were excellent.
It's a long drive to and from Port Aransas but worth the effort.
We'll be back soon.

FYI the restaurant has been recently updated/ renovated with new flooring, drop ceiling tiles, lighting fixtures and draperies. Personally, I was never influenced by their decor because the food and service are ALWAYS 5 Stars!!
Today's offerings included the spectacular pan fried to die for homemade pork dumplings, garlic chicken and general tso's chicken. It was the perfect meal with all the flavor, spice and texture you would expect from a five-star meal.
We began with the fried dumplings. They were big and handmade to perfection. The pork mix inside was flavorful and fresh.
The soups arrived next. The Won Ton soup was excellent with lots of pork and fresh vegetables, the Hot and Sour soup was equally as good.
The soups broth were all homemade and every vegetable had flavor and texture.
Both were garnished with fresh mushrooms and tiny chopped green onions.
The entrées arrived and were exceptional as well.
The Sesame Chicken was perfectly fried using all white meat. The Twice Cooked Pork was wonderful as well.

Food was good but almost $32 for a lemon chicken / order of shrimp egg rolls / and a soup. Not sure i would go back because of the price.

Cindy S.Corpus Christi, TX35126Apr 23, 2023Price increases. The menu prices in the Yelp photos are not correct. Crab Rangoon is now $13.95, and I was charged $3 more for sweet and sour sauce. Asked for NO broccoli with the Sesame Chicken and was charged $3 MORE! Check for hidden charges.

Food was actually really good & fresh, my wife and I both got the "Dinner Special" for $15 and some change each. We got our bill and it was $90. Yeah I think we won't be going back lol
