Tons of fun for all ages. Family Friendly. Super Educational. Great fresh water aquarium, fully stocked lake for fishing, fishing & hunting simulators, fish hatchery, & the kindest staff ever. They all want you to have fun & learn a lot.
We live 2 hours away & it was well worth the drive!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ken L.Thomasville, GA786Jun 15, 2019
What a great place to spend the day with the family. The aquariums (3) are very interesting along with the alligator exhibit and all the information on the aquatic life that is in Georgia waters. One of the most enjoyable things is the fish pond where you can let the family fish and best of all the provide the bait and the tackle.

We weren't sure what to expect but decided to check out the facility through the Dekalb library pass loan program and had a really great time. We have had very limited experience with fishing and it turns out that this place is a great introduction to fishing, especially for young kids. The education center itself has an "aquarium" (fish and crocodiles), fishing simulators, hunting video game, fish hatchery, and fishing in a stocked pond (catch and release). They provide the rods and bait and there are people that help you learn how to fish. James helped us out while we were there and he was really good at finding and helping us catch some fish. The boys had a really good time and were super excited to catch their first fish! The center even prints out a certificate to celebrate your first catch. We caught a couple of small catfish and a striped bass (under 1 lb each). We heard that there are fishes that are up to 10 lbs big!
It is really hot during the summer. Spring and fall are probably nicer times of year to go (March and October are good). Also, it is best to go in the morning as opposed to the afternoon to increase your chances of catching fish.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Brittani F.Danville, GA12715Jul 9, 2015
Fun place for an outing. We took our 4 yr old and there was a good bit to see and do. They have some fun simulators which were fun to try out.
The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. The gentleman working the fishing pond was so nice to all the kids and took time to show them how to fish. Very impressed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole A.Jacksonville, FL128Dec 15, 2018

Stopped there while driving from Atlanta to Florida with the family. Kids loved it, but unfortunately we had to rush through it to get back on our way. Perfect if you want to stop for an hour plus/minus, though you could easily spend more.
What I really liked was the fact that all of the many exhibits have glass that stretches from the floor up, so my little ones were able to see everything. Definitely worth the 15 minute detour we took from the fastest route possible.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cruz G.Columbus, GA538Jul 12, 2014
Great educational and modern establishment. Realistic and Interactive fishing games were a blast. They pulled just like the real thing. They even have a catfish lake in the back. They supply the bait and reel. All free.
