Went in to the shop today to rent a full ski set up for the weekend. The owner refused to rent before 3pm. He stated that his system wasn't set up for that until 3pm because I could take the skis up to mount baker and pay half price lift tickets and that I would have to pay for an extra rental day. I was perfectly happy to pay for an extra day so I didn't have to come back after 3pm or first thing when they open. Will not be spending money here and will advise my many out of state friends against it as well.

Everyone was super friendly and made the process of getting new ski gear far easier than I could have imagined. I'm brand new to skiing and didn't really know what I needed. They listened to my goals and budget and had me fully geared up with boots that feel like I'm walking on clouds and new ski/bindings that should help me learn and progress for years to come. I couldn't recommend their shop more, especially if you need a boot fit.

These guys are very friendly and they have everything you could think of for a day on the slopes...from boots to clothes to protective gear and high-tech avalanche safety stuff. They also rent snow pants, which a lot of sports equipment rental places don't.
When we checked out the options in Bellingham and along the way to Mt. Baker, Glacier Ski Shop had everything we needed and was also a perfect pit-stop on the 1hr + drive to the Mt. Baker Ski Area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tim F.Kirkland, WA892Feb 26, 2017
Best rental shop we've used in years. Fast efficient even for family of 4 and the gear was great. Rented cross country gear. Friendly smiley staff who knew there stuff and played good music too. Being able to return following morning a plus too

Quick, uncrowded spot with friendly staff! We were in and out in 20 minutes. It is super worth it to rent gear on the way to the mountain rather than taking the time once you're there. Plus, the prices were really reasonable. I spent $15 renting boots only and they were never-worn $400 retail. Highly recommend!

We have been customers for 3 years now; kids season rentals, skis for my wife and daughter. These guys know Baker and the equipment needed.
We are very happy with all their advice and great deals on equipment.
Recently I bent a ski pole that I purchased there and they straightened it out no charge. Thanks Joe!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle P.Lake Stevens, WA07Jan 2, 2016
We stopped in the shop to pick up some things and to seek help for my daughters bindings. We support small business owners and would prefer to pay a margin to help local communities. The guys around the shop were stellar and very helpful (they are the only reason for the 1 star). We were fitting pucks on an empty counter when the owner came over and was extremely rude. He told us to move out of the way and his approach could/should have been a lot more humane and patient. His tone was comparable to a nasty parent scolding his child who ignored his first 5 attempts to get their attention. He was ostracizing his employee for being so helpful to us. He is a grade A - mountain fed jerk. I am sure he is a washed up mountain king who was never taught any manners.
We went in the store looking for help and to buy other products. I will NEVER spend another dime in that place. News flash - customer service will lead to prosperity, which is the only thing you have left to keep your ego fed!!! What a piece of work.
Stop somewhere else unless you are lucky enough to have the owner stay home, so he can stand out of the way of his helpful staff.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John H.San Diego, CA03Mar 29, 2017
The service was excellent - helpful and knowledgeable. Rented snowboard boots for my son at an affordable daily rate. Easy rental policy. Definitely will rent from here next time we're back!

Been in a few times to pick up some basics and rent snowshoes and skis as we own a cabin in Glacier and have never been impressed.
I went in to see if I could borrow a screwdriver for 15 min as I had a door jammed at my cabin (a mile away). After being questioned what it was for by the guy behind the counter, offering up my DL, and my reason being evaluated, the guy leaning on the counter literally said, "Um, yeah... No tools leave the premises..."
Plenty of other places to rent in Bellingham or even up at Baker.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maia B.San Francisco, CA336222128Mar 6, 2008First to Review
The Ski Shop gets 4 stars just for having an awesome fence made out of old skis.
