The Giant store in Lewisburg is my primary grocery store -- I appreciate the produce, the staff, and the quality of responses one gets to requests or general queries. During these quarantined days, we've been reliant on their Peapod-type service (formerly Giant Direct), which has worked exceptionally well for us -- until one day our order disappeared -- down to three stars!
We were told we had cancelled the order. If we did, we hadn't intended to do so -- but given that the software seems to be a little different every time we go, it appears it's still a work-in-progress, so navigating is an adventure on every visit. I went back to their site to try to figure out what happened. As I block cookies, with a few exceptions, I noticed that some content had been blocked. I was about to unblock when I noticed the number of cookies that would generate. Oooh -- I'll leave it at 3 stars for now, but -- maybe 1 star is more accurate?
I've posted the screen capture. Were you aware? Would you rather pay a *b*i*t* more to avoid your privacy being sold to whomever these cookies represent, or continue to be cookie-fied? How many stars has Giant earned -- and lost?
(BTW, even Yelp has only 22 cookies! Only?)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jen E.Milton, PA011Oct 29, 2016First to Review
Beware of sketchy advertising! This is a nice store with good products but they depend on the clientele not caring about their bottom line. For example, individual breads are priced at .65 each or 6 for $2.99. Bagels are on the same display and marked with the same signage and same price. Yet today I was charged for 5 individual breads and 1 bagel (.65 x 6) because "bagels are rung up separately." This store sells based on image, not on caring about their customers. Watch your total and you'll see I'm right.

I went into Giants this morning to purchase a few items and did not have that much time to spend in the store. I first went to the deli section and used their kiosk to place my order for deli meat and cheese, I only ordered ham, turkey and cheese cut a specific way (small order), while my order is being made ( I assumed it was being made) I finished my shopping and returned to the deli to pick up my order and it wasn't done in fact it wasn't even started. When I asked the young lady behind the counter where is the order I placed she said she was starting it now but couldn't get the turkey or ham unwrapped (what?). Apparently she is new and was left alone. So at this point I'm frustrated because you didn't even start my order that I placed 15minutes ago and I need to leave. I spoke to Sue who was behind the counter at this time but she was no help either, she tried treating me like I did something wrong ( I placed an order on the kiosk that's what they're there for) so I spoke to the manager who offered me free lunch meat that was already made and sitting there for I don't know how long and when I said no to that then she tried offering me free cheese SMH. What I would of liked was for my order to have been ready as I gave the deli enough time to slice ham, turkey and cheese. I wasn't looking to get free lunch meat or free cheese especially that been sitting there for who knows how long. That just showed me how much she values me as a customer, she didn't seem concerned about me being a dissatisfied customer which I shop there often, I'm a Lewisburg resident and I also work in Lewisburg I shop there for my home and my employer. That just made me go buy what I needed at Weis market, which was a much better experience!
