George & Wendy's Sanibel Seafood Grille

Anytime we are on the island of Sanibel, we make it a point to visit George and Wendy's. Their food is always so good and their drinks are wonderful too. Their wings are my favorite! Their outdoor seating is really nice and they have plenty of seating inside. Plenty of parking too. They only negative, is the volume. It is always a little loud, but that isn't a problem for us.

They had live music the night we were there, and we kept rocking the whole night.

Next time we are on Sanibel, we will be back!

Found this place by chance when looking for a good lunch place as we were leaving Sanibel Island.

The host was accommodating to us when we didn't want to sit near the roads for outdoor seating.

Our server, Eric, was friendly and nice.

We had the steak and shrimp fajitas to share, the kids got a chicken tenders kids meal and cheese pizza kids meal. We also ordered calamari, mussels and buffalo shrimp from the happy hour menu. Food was very tasty. I like that the steak for the fajitas came as big chunks like they didn't skimp. The shrimp was not as good. It didn't have enough flavor and had a fishy taste. Our cocktails were on point with a bloody Mary and mango tango. The fries that came with the chicken tenders were crispy in the outside and soft on the inside just the way it should be.

Great food, good service and decent prices! Would highly recommend it. Also the kids meal was served on a frisbee and the kids can take it home.

Three of us stopped in for dinner at 6PM. We had reservations and were seated right away. We sat outside as it was a nice evening, very comfortable. George & Wendy's is a well-known place that has been here for years, so it draws a good crowd (highly recommend reservations!).
They have a separate, extensive Gluten free menu, if that's your thing.
They had a good selection of beer on tap, and a nice bar area inside with several large screen TVs.
Service was very good, we were well taken care of without being pestered.
We had the grouper bites starter which we all enjoyed. I had the Grouper Française which was amazing! Nice hunk of fish, pasta done to perfection and drowning in butter. Delicious. This is a must-go-to place while on Sanibel.

This was a good spot to do for dinner. They had a lot of choices so it was easy to find something to eat that you like. I started with the brie and that was great. It was melted nicely so I could put it all over the bread. The fish sandwich was my main dish. The sandwich was crisp and light. Personally I like circular buns more than the hoagie style ones for sandwiches. The waiter was nice and this was an easy place to take little kids.

We stopped here for dinner. I highly recommend the chowder which is 10 stars. We got the brie and garlic which was ok. I got the beef on weck which was unique and delicious. They have tons of delicious unique options. We definitely had some hits and some oks. So all in all 3.5 stars. Which is good for Sanibel. I would come back to try the Pina colada snapper and drunken grouper.

We had a late lunch here and I was a bit worried when I saw that other people didn't have any food on their tables. However, we were very pleasantly surprised when they took our order quickly and our food arrived quickly. Our waiter, Matty, was friendly and did a very nice job and even gave our dogs biscuits.

They have a lot of outdoor seating and the tables are widely spaced.

I had the Grouper Ruben which was very tasty and the Tuna Nachos which were very delicious.

This was a very good seafood restaurant on Sanibel Island with some nice outdoor seating on a beautiful day. The fried grouper was the star, possibly the best I've had. The special seafood gumbo was really tasty too. The snapper ahd shrimp tacos were good, but not standouts. Overall a very good option for seafood on the island, 3.5 stars

The food is great and all but the scampi was amazing! I can still taste it - and I want some again- that's just how good it is. I honestly could have done without the beef on wec I had as my main. I should have just had all the scampi instead of sharing with my hubby. He had the grouper sandwich- fried- and loved it. He said he liked it but next time he will try it blackened

Met family here for a very great dinner. Excellent service and food. We had a table of 6 and we all tried different dishes: bacon wrapped scallops, grouper sandwich, seafood platter, grouper tacos, drunken snapper. All were very delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant! Our out of town guests say they'll be back!
