Gene's Import Auto Body

This place is so amazing, professional, honest, reasonable, informative and highly recommended!!! I brought my old Honda Fit in because the roof was totally oxidized and the seals around the wind shield were practically gone.  I was speaking to the owner, Gene about what to do and he was so kind and informative and gave  me a very reasonable estimate for repair. Well I picked the car up today and it looks AMAZING !  to say the least!! Thank you for the great service !!!

They did a great job on my Honda Accord after it was hit by a RAM truck. Reynaldo coordinated everything and made it painless for me. I'm sending another friend to them this week.

I was referred to Gene's Import Auto Body by my parent's. Several years ago, they had had their Toyota Avalon be repaired and were very happy with the service. My Honda Accord was hit from behind and had damage from the bumper to the passenger-side back door. Gina, Gene's Import Auto Body Repair Specialist, was the one that guided me through the entire process.  I had a lot of questions and she was willing to take the time to provide me with the answers. I have used other autobody shops in Monterey County, but the service I received at Gene's Import Auto Body, was from a business of EXCELLENCE! They were friendly, timely and the job they did was AMAZING! Though I hope I don't need to use them in the future, I will recommend them to my family and friends.

I had a little mishap on a specialty car having to take care of it myself with no insurance involved.
I had needed bodywork to be done before but this shop is out-of-this-world good, honestly. From the "boss/owner" Brad to the manager Jared, the coordinator Catherine, the painters, and above all, Hai, the body "surgeon" specialist, they not only did incredibly good quality work but were responsive in communicating and taking care if my needs. And I'm needy, lol. If you want your car repaired perfectly,  you've got to give Gene's your business! Very happy customer :-)

I needed the driver's seat on my 'new' used car adjusted to accommodate my physical needs. I found myself canvassing numerous auto body and fabrication shops on the Peninsula.
At the end of my rope I checked in with Gene's and spoke with the owner Brad. He looked at the job and with little deliberation accepted the challenge and quoted me a very fair price.
I dropped it off this morning and just now accepted delivery with the car fully functional for my needs. Thank you to Brad, his father Jerry and the front end representative Antonio.
According to Jerry this import auto body shop is now certified to repair Tesla autos in addition to higher end imports.
Every once in awhile you run across persons with a good heart. Brad could have passed on my job request.

I recently had a car repaired at Gene's for the third time in 20 years. For many years, Terry was a familiar face and trusted employee to many local customers of Gene's until he tragically passed away. Ray is the manager now and took wonderful care of us. He told me that he was originally trained by Terry-it showed. He brings the same excellent customer service to clients as I have always experienced from this business. Our primary contact person was Gina, a lovely young woman who was the estimator and repair manager for our car. She kept us updated and informed throughout the process, which took longer than anticipated because of some challenges with parts from Honda. I would not hesitate to recommend this auto body shop to anyone. They take pride in their work and stand behind it 100%.

I am very disappointed in this  shop. I took my car here for an insurance job. I did a walk-through and made it very clear what I needed fixed. Not only did they not call me to tell me they weren't fixing it. They didn't call me with an estimate or even to let me know they weren't fixingThey gave me no notice that my car was ready right now. Not a good place I would never recommend this place and I will never go back. If I could write them a zero on three different categories I would. Zero for customer service, zero for the work done that was requested zero for communication.

I would like to update my review.  
I was called and told they were very busy. I was asked to bring the car back. I'm changing my stars for there effort to try to fix the problem. Thanks guys.

*Excellent* service.  My car suffered from a complicated rear view mirror failure. Gene's was able to get the part ordered and schedule me right away. I want to give special credit to Jared. He knows his stuff & displayed excellent customer service. This place is worth your business!

A tree fell on my Tesla. Insurance covered me. Had to find a Tesla certified shop. Only had a Gene's or a body shop in Santa Cruz (or a few others in the bay area if i wanted to go further). Decided to check out Gene's since it was close by.

Dropped by and I ended up meeting with Reynaldo for an estimate. Reynaldo was awesome from the beginning. He was legitimately the reason I decided to trust Gene's from the get-go and not really look into any other body shops. I could tell he was professional, honest and hard working- I'm a recruiter and have a sales background as well; so I feel confident in saying I've developed a great instinct for reading people.

Reynaldo gave me some great info/advice from the beginning. He checked out the car and was very detailed. He then requested I take back the car after i had it washed so that he could really take a look at the little details that would need to be fixed; he even accommodated and let me go in on a Saturday. He took care of me from the beginning. From there on out, he was frequently emailing me and calling me with updates about my car/parts and estimated dates for parts and to take it in. I never really had to call him because he was always on top of it. The few times that i did call, he was always happy to help and had answers for me immediately or if not, he would get back to me very quickly. He took care of talking to the insurance and fought for me a number of times to make sure the insurance took care of everything.

After finally getting the car worked on, Reynaldo happily walked me through final inspection of the vehicle- it all looked great. I took it home and ended up finding a few things I wanted to get fixed. I called Reynaldo right away and he set things up to get them fixed and squared away. He pretty much took care of me all over again. I even took it back a second time for some issues with headlights. He accommodated me again on a Saturday.

At the end of the day, I've been very happy with Gene's. Reynaldo in particular has pretty much been the only one I've had to deal with and hes always been on top of his game. I'm almost selling him short on how much he helped me out. If you get Reynaldo as your estimator, he will take care of you! Thanks for all your hard work and always being so friendly, Reynaldo.

Gene's is by far the most professional, skilled, honest and dependable auto body shop that anyone could need. I have been in the auto business for 38 years, and we send all our customers to Gene's. I had a small scrape on my beautiful Acura TL, and the repair they did was perfect. Gina set up what I needed, gave me a good quote and the shop did a great job. In a short time, I picked up my car and smiled as I drove away.
The Masters appreciates a business like ours that puts the customer first.

I brought my 1991 Porsche 964 there today to get new headlight trim rings painted and installed. The owner took personal interest in my car and found a way to make the current trim rings fit properly, saving me money. Two other shops could not figure this out.  He also renewed the windshield gasket, cleaning off the dried, residue from old rubber treatments and making it fit properly and looking like new. I was planning on having a new gasket placed.  No more!  

You know that a business is passionate about their customers when the owner goes out of his way to do what is right even though it means that they make less money. I'm very happy with how my car turned out and I will be taking all my vehicles to them for any needed paint and body work.

Took our Jeep Patriot in to get the front end fixed after a collision and they did a wonderful job. Everyone was so friendly and kept us updated every few days on what was going on with the car. Everyone was super helpful and the car looks brand new again. Everything was also done in a timely manner. They did a great job with the car!

Well, its unfortunate whenever you need to go to a body shop.  Something bad sends you there.  But, both my wife and I have had very positive experiences when we had to have one of our cars repaired.  This last week provides a great example.  I was dropping off my grandchildren at their school and pulled up to the cement parking barrier.  After doing my grandfatherly chore, I returned to my car and put it in reverse.  I had no idea that my front bumper (a Mercedes) was low enough that the undercarriage got stuck on the cement berm and literally ripped part of my left wheel well away from the front grille.  OMG, was I so p***sed.  I had the car towed to Gene's and met Arturo there.  He initially thought they would have to take the entire grille off, reattach it and repaint it -- about $2K worth of work and, due to the holidays, not ready for about two weeks.  "Wait," he said, "let me get my Mercedes specialist to take a look and perhaps we can do it much cheaper and faster."  Sure enough "his guy" came out and not only told me it would be about $1400 less than originally thought, they could get it back to me in two business days.  They did so and the car looks good as new, with it being entirely detailed.
Arturo, Jared and the entire Gene's crew are not only highly professional, but they are HONEST BUSINESS PERSONS.  Thanks so much.  I only hope I don't have to see you again soon -- because that could only mean bad news.  Happy Holidays.

This company was great.. I dropped off my mom to get her car, which had been fixed at this auto body shop. She was very impressed with the repairs from an accident and how they detailed her car afterwards. Then I scratched my car the same day and had to come back. They saw me quickly and had an employee buff out the scratch within 15 minutes. The service was top notch and I was very happy with the results! I will be back and I'll be referring this company to people I know.

These people right here are cool.  They fixed my car is a good timeframe.  Very polite and professional.

I have heard that Gene's is the best in Monterey area. They are professional and honest. My Lexus had a small damage and I took it there for getting an estimate for my insurance company. But, the service person said he can try to fix it by buffing. He buffed the damage area, and cleaned and sealed it professionally for free. This is good and really honest service.

Brad, The owner of Gene's Import Auto Body called me this morning to apologize for the problems that I experienced with their customer service. He truly wanted to do what was necessary to make things right. He immediatetly offered to refund the difference between their original estimate, and the amount ultimate charged for the repairs. This was recovery customer service at it's best. He was considerate, thoughtful, and apologetic for the problems. If every business owner was as thoughtful and conscientious, the world would be a better place. Thank you Brad! By the way, the quality of their work was never an issue, the work was really perfect! Based on this experience with the owner I would highly recommend this shop. Everyone makes mistakes, it's what you do afterwards to make things right that makes all of the difference!

Great communication before and during body work. Reynaldo was extremely helpful, and went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of - I have zero complaints.
