Excellent fresh clam chowder soup. The burger and wrap came out in a timely manner and tasted delicious. We ordered the beer battered onion rings and they were tasty. The service was good. The restrooms were clean and the service was great.
We will be back.
Tip: darts and pool tables are located further back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Crystal L.Ventura County, CA931291433Dec 22, 2020
I kid you not...
Every time my heart is in the downtown area of beautiful Santa Paula... (yes, it's pretty and rural at the same time) I want to come here!
This place has the coolest vibe on the outside and inside. It's dark the way a pub is suppose to be. There's plenty of seating and I'm surprised with how big it is!
I love sitting at the bar and in the side back that opens out to the downtown you can eat and take in the downtown scenery.
Let me tell ya' the food here is to drool for! The fish and chips are the best I've ever had... it's a huge plate to share but, of course I didn't share :D
I absolutely LOVE the salad that comes with a HUGE ball of fresh goat cheese. It's mind blown! Everything is fresh and tasty here.
The owner of the business has the kindest soul ever! This place is definitely a successful business and I hope people support it throughout the pandemic. Small business will need our help more than ever. Place your orders to go!
I hope one day it's up and running at The Collection, Oxnard CA. because, this would be right down the street from my house. This place would BOOM there!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Susan G.Santa Paula, CA57779Sep 20, 2019
I recently moved to Santa Paula and have been checking out some of the local restaurants. My husband and I wish we had tried Garmans much sooner.
We stopped in for a Friday afternoon lunch and were seated very quickly. We each ordered a black and tan while we reviewed the menu. My husband decided on a Ruben since that is his quintessential must meet expectations item and I ordered the Gillespie Burger. We each requested our fries well done.
My husband remarked that the Ruben was the best he had in YEARS. My Gillespie, outstanding as well. The next time, I will request extra grain mustard. Fries, were perfect, highly reccomend them. I am a very picky ranch dressing lover. The ranch at Garmans was a little thin, but excellent flavor. I'll definitely look forward to ordering a salad here.
The service was spot on. Attentive, friendly and informative. We think Garmans will be our new "go to" spot in our new hometown.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Shon M.Mason, OH9778Oct 27, 2019
Very glad we stopped in to Garman's Pub.
Our server, Spencer was great. My portabello sandwich was awesome!
Not a big fan of the mac n cheese. It was on the dry side.
The fish tacos were huge. But filled mostly with cabbage. They were not as flavorful as we had hoped.
Looks like a happening place in the evenings with their pool tables, dart boards and shuffleboard.
We would definitely come back and try a few other menu options.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 374368285Jun 14, 2019
Super generous portions! We came for the fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. The fish was juicy, not greasy, not fishy tasting -- very very good. My husband and I tried to finish it but it was huge. My husband noted that even when you picked up the fish it was a heavy hearty piece each time! The clam chowder was delicious - not sandy at all - very filling and good to the last spoonful. My son had the grilled cheese which he couldn't finish! But still yummy. Fast friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

We came over to Santa Paula on a Saturday drive, but I had scouted places to eat in advance on Yelp. I didn't get turned off by the one star reviews and if you know Yelp you know which to weed out yourself. Easy to find location with street parking and a definite pub feel to the place, we saw that it was crowded but waited and were shown to a table off on the left side.
The waitress took our orders (Guinness on draft for me of course...what else would you get in a pub) my wife got a ShockTop, (she is half Italian while I am part Irish so I can't change what she drinks). My wife ordered the clam chowder that she commented on as having a very home made taste to it with lots of carrots and herbs.
I ordered a Reuben, which turned out to be completely delicious and made just the way it should be with the proper ingredients. My son ordered the fish and chips and substituted the chips for the onion rings. Only took a bite of his fish, but likely the best fish and chips I've eaten ever.
Love the place and will come back for sure on my way through again.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Paul M.Ventura, CA223795Aug 12, 2019
Where else can you have craft beers, top shelf drinks and killer grub WHILE playing CORNHOLE?
Indoors...
Yeah , that's right.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2475364725Aug 27, 2016
Busy busy Friday night and our original plans fell through. Garmans was always on the agenda and we were finally able to make it work!
I'm not sure if this place is always this busy, but wow. After we were greeted right at the front door we were lead to our table in the very back of the restaurant (near the dart boards). Met our server, nice young guy. Got our food ordered and he graciously split our checks. Thanks!
Now, before I get to the food, I'll tell you this: THIS PLACE GETS LOUD! I could hardly hear the others in my party. I don't know if it's the acoustics of the building? But whatever it is, just know that you'll have trouble hearing each other or find yourself yelling across the table.
Now the food: The Caesar salad was very good, and large for a 1/2 order! I ordered the Turkey with sweet potato fries. The fries were OUTSTANDING! Bummer for me, the bacon wasn't cooked (or just VERY undercooked) and my rye bread was too toasted, I'd call it burnt. No Bueno but the sandwich was ok besides that. The turkey and tomatoes were very tasty.
My friend loved her fish & chips, and when I'm in Santa Paula next that will be my next thing to try.
Overall, good food. Busy place. I'd imagine weekdays are less crowded? Who knows; but I'll try again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Neal B.Ventura, CA41138312Jul 7, 2018
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Ventura County! Garman's is a true gem in Santa Paula. It's conveniently located downtown and has free street parking.
The ambiance inside is inviting. I've met friends there and taken the family. My kids love the food. The kids menu has great options on there. My son loves the cheeseburger.
I really enjoy the fish and chips. The fish is super fresh! I also get the Cobb salad and it is perfect! I'd guess it has an entire avocado on there!
Best part is everything is reasonably priced and service is fantastic! Great staff who is knowledgeable and caring.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I've been wanting to come here for ages, but we always end up going somewhere else for some reason. Finally made it in tonight.
We got there right at 10 pm and the place was poppin. People were playing cards inside where the pool tables are. The red headed bartender came over so we asked if we could sit in that particular area. He seemed a little confused, but led us to a table anyway and gave us a menu. About 5 minutes later a woman came over and apologized then told us they close at 10. It was 5 after. But she was kind enough to let us have one round since we were already there.
My three friends all got a beer. The only one I remember was what my friend Kellie got which was the Black Fire. It was Guinness and Firestone, a very good combo. I'm not much of a guinness fun, but mixed with another kind of beer, it is simply delicious. I saw there was one mixed with coffee. That's one I'll definitely try next time. I got the Irish Mule. It was delicious. I could easily throw back at least 5 of those. Easy.
What a shame that they close early. It would've been nice to try the food. That's going to be a must for next time.
The interior of this place is super nice. The ceiling is awesome and I love the brick wall. I also appreciate that there weren't many tvs. Instead the walls were covered with football jerseys from all over the world. My personal favorite was Messi's.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
