Hi Lorraine- We are a BYOB restaurant so yes, you may bring whatever alcohol in that you would like to! There would be a small corking fee.

Went to this restaurant when they first opened. We have always been very pleased with the food. Then the service became disorganized and poor timing, etc.. So after a couple frustrating dinners (the atmosphere/menu is casual fine dining) we did not go back for awhile.
In the past few months we have been there several times and have had delicious meals and the service is much improved. Well worth a try and it's BYOB. Also, the jazz trio is such a nice addition. They were there on Saturdays when we were there. Not sure how often they are there but it sure added to the atmosphere and it isn't too loud! They set up in the hallway between the two lovely Victorian rooms were the tables are.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 27, 2016
This restaurant is so adorable! It's an old house turned into a restaurant where you can eat in a bedroom. My friends and I had a private room upstairs since we had a 4 month old with us and we could have room and not disturb other diners. Our waiter Kyle had a great personality and we all enjoyed our dinners. The only issue (winch really isn't an issue) is that they ran out of cheesecake and couldn't serve the Creme Brulee (it didn't set up correctly), but other desserts were right size slices of cake. I will definitely go back and try the cheesecake!

I took 5 employees out for lunch on Feb 17. The location is kind of strange because the entrance is in the rear and that's not really obvious. We were seated promptly and received glasses of water. A pet peeve of mine is to get water with 90% melted ice and only a couple of slivers of ice left. Oh well, i ordered a diet soda instead. I had a difference of opinion with the server as the soda tasted like regular coke or maybe off-brand diet. He was adamant that it was diet but didn't offer an alternative. I didn't drink any more of it. I drink a couple of diet cokes a day and can spot non-diet or off-brand easily.
The ambiance of the room is like an old tea room. Beautifully finished touches with local photos on the wall. You could tell that you were in York though as there were 3 bullet holes in the front windows.
I ordered soup and a grilled cheese for about $12. The soup was supposed to be beef and sweet potato, but it seemed to be beef and mushed bread? It tasted good but the cup was not full and the quantity was lacking. The grilled cheese was delicious. It had George Foreman grill marks on it and was supposed to have bacon. Mine did not, but my co-worker did have it. Bummer but I don't need the calories.
A big gripe was the service level. We were tended to by two servers. One was experienced and mostly professional in appearance, the other 'hair boy' needs to be trained. I was sitting against the wall looking towards the front window. It seemed to be convenient for hair boy to just reach around the corner and repeatedly lean over my co-worker to serve me. He did it again and again. The far side of the table was served by hair boy leaning over my co-workers. We shouldn't expect silver service but even Hoss's servers do a better job.
In all I would say that the food was tasty but overpriced. Service was not great and the location may be a little dangerous. Please fix the bullet holes in the window!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - August N.Harrisburg, PA371211Aug 27, 2017
I met a friend on a Sunday morning for brunch here. We weren't sure what to expect since it wasn't very busy, but it was a really nice experience. The food was fantastic! We both chose the stuffed French toast with peach. It was seriously the best French toast I've ever had! I don't say that lightly as I have experienced more brunch experiences than I can count in vast locations over the years. I often hesitate to order stuffed French toast because it's usually too sweet. The chef prepared the French toast beautifully and the sweetness was balanced. It can be difficult to finish such a filling dish, but because it wasn't too sweet it was easy to enjoy every bite. The peaches were perfect! The service was great and I would love to come back with my husband some time. We used to live in York, and we know how difficult it can be for some new establishments to stick. I hope ppl aren't scared off by the location. It's near the fairgrounds and has great parking.

HIDDEN GEM! A must visit for anyone looking to experience some time in a quality restaurant while being on a budget at the same time. Service was par excellence. We tried their brunch menu which was awesome. Try this one out! A must go to place in York with a lot of history!

We used Front Porch Cafe for a staff appreciation event for 100 people. Food and service was excellent. The chef is passionate about his trade and skilled at what he does.
The price was very reasonable considering that we had a cheese tray, appetizers, soup, multiple choices for the main entree and dessert. I was blown away by the accommodations that were made for us.
The atmosphere is warm and a wonderful repurpose of a historic home.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robin R.York, PA3115151Jun 8, 2015Updated review
Finally got to go for dinner...special occasion :) 5/30/15
As you may know it's BYOB, they provide an ice bucket with ice water to chill your bottle quickly.
To eat....
Maryland crab cakes with whipped (says puree on menu) sweet potato and I decided on zucchini. The crab cakes were {{fabulous}} and I'm very picky in fact....the fact I even tried the crab cakes shows a certain trust in this resturant. They did good. :) Obvious butter flavor in the sweet potato puree and zucchini which was grilled.
Sea Bass Special.....He doesn't remember beyond....It was good. hehehehe
Over all I think the staff was young and a bit unpolished, nothing particularly wrong just....a bit off. We checked out the second floor and one of the rooms look disheveled most likely a party cleared out and the room wasn't put back properly....no one was up there we were just checking it out but I think it should have been tiddied up
Double checked.....Saturday night piano player with a vocalist.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 3, 2015Previous reviewA gem in little York and walkable for us but...we never do. HA!
This resturant is one that really shuts down between lunch and dinner however....our server was new and he didnt know. Honestly we didn't know either, oops. :/
They were very accommading to alter our order even with us being there at an odd time. Our sever was friendly and apparently new to York.
Friday and Saturday they have live music guitar or piano I'm sure you can call ahead for details.

Visiting from out of town. Beautiful house that is turned in to a classy restaurant. Great service, great food and absolutely great price. Come check it out if you visit and enjoy a sit down, black table cloth dining.

We came for restaurant week. A great time to find and try new places. When we came in we where ignored and after a while asked by two different members of staff if we had a reservation. They had trouble finding our reservation. A server complained about not wanting us in her section because there where only two of us and she wanted more so that she could make more tips. In front of us!
I had tomato soup. Bland and I have made better from can and the same goes with the vegetable grain soup that my friend had.
I had a chicken pesto sandwich also bland. Couldn't taste the pesto and the chicken was dry and over cooked. Friends sandwich was braised short ribs. All it tasted like was nasty fat.
We had long waits for our food and our water ran out. It was clear from the tables next to ours that we were not the only ones not enjoying our meal or lack of service. The unprofessional icing on the cake for me was a man who appeared to be at least shift manage calling out to us as we where leaving (half way out the door) thank you for coming. New and claiming to be upscale I expect more. Haven't been back and won't good back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
